"Surprisingly enough," he teased. Klaus wasn't exactly expected to be the kind of person to dole out advice on life and love, but he had the experience and weirdly enough, Stefan trusted him more because of their past. The heartbreak he'd been through because of him in the 1920s no longer registered as pain.
Letting go and moving on, that was what he was doing.
"You'll get the chance when we get back. He wants to meet you. But...for now--," and Stefan leaned in closer again for another kiss, one that was chaste, but oh so sweet. "I want to start off the New Year with being undeniably happy. Because I haven't done that in...a very long time. I think I deserve it. Or so I hear."
