She took note that his eyes fluttered about the main floor. Thankfully for her, the design here was simple. Done up in dark, rich colors, the first floor looked like a night club with booths, lounges, and a large bar with stools. The stairs leading to other floors was tucked away near the restrooms. To the unknowing, it could simply be a card swipe access only supply closet for the bathrooms. To the real clientele, it was the door that led to several floors of fun.
"In over two centuries of life, one tends to obtain family whether it be biologically or close relationships and friendships. While I am quiet independent, it's fruitful and productive to have a support system. Besides, it's always good to have a few wild cards up your sleeve. Never know when you might need to play one."
Seraphina listened to his explanation as to why he was on the island himself and nodded. Sipping at her drink, she made sure to block and lock her mind so that he couldn't read anything she didn't want him to. Instead she thought about a little, brown haired girl. She had been five and playing in a field of wild flowers the last time she'd taken the time to check in on her. That had been roughly twenty years ago. Romain kept her informed on the girl, but she'd refused to go and see her in person again after that day. She'd been happy and giggling as she danced in the flowers and sun. Hopefully the thought would be distracting enough should The Doctor decide to try and read her mind.
"I'd say it's been what... twenty five years or so since the last time we bumped into each other. I've been building my business and enjoying life. I have a few other smaller clubs throughout the country and one in France. I promise you, I'm not running from anyone... well except my parents maybe, but that's only because they're still trying to marry me off to some other Fae."
