Mac woke up in the afternoon to find Castor had gone off somewhere. Oh well. He'd be back before sundown. It was a full moon, and Mac highly doubted he'd go for a run without her. It'd be their first full moon run together in a long while. And by law, she wasn't allowed out on a run without her master either being their with her, or giving her permission. While she highly doubted she'd have to ask for permission from Castor, the thought of running alone when they now lived in the same apartment was just a lonely thought.
Around three in the afternoon, there was knock on the door, and a poor mail, slave boy, was there with a package for her. "I was told to make sure you were here, and that I set it up, make sure it works, and have you sign to this testament before leaving," he explained to her. Mac showed the boy to her room where he proceeded to open the package and assemble a beautiful key board.
Mac was in shock, unsure where it had come from. When it was set up, and made sure it worked, Mac signed off on the paper, taking note of the wording on it, and when the boy left, she grabbed a random object off of shelf and sent it crashing against a wall. The fucking nerve of him! He fucking leaves her to rot, then sends her a fucking Christmas present! Tracks her down, no less, sends a person in this weather, on this holiday to give her this one last, sentimental gift. Mac paced her room, staring down the keyboard for about an hour before she decided to sit at it and start playing.
The tune she played was from earlier, when she still lived with Jack. This was the tune she played the night he came and played with her, one of the few moments he showed a vulnerable side. Mac chose to get lost in that memory for the time being, lightly singing her lyrics as she went. "When it's all said and done, I'll follow the echos... I didn't want to escape from the bricks that I laid down. You are, the only one, the only one who sees me, trusts me and believes me. You are, the only one, the only one that knows me, and in the dark you show me..."
Even though she was lost in her moment, her were senses ever on alert, and the minute she picked up the sound of keys nearing the door lock, and the smell of all too familiar food, Mac stopped her playing and singing, turned off the keyboard, and zoomed out of her room to meet Castor by the door. She held an expectant smile on her face, like a dog waiting for her treat. She wasn't ignorant. The food smell was very distinct, and he had promised her tamales.
