He looked back at the clerk, pointing at the painting. "Wrap this for me." He gave her a quick wink and handed over some money, including a generous tip. "I'll stop back through to pick it up."
His attention turned back to the guy next to him. "I loved New Orleans. I haven't been there in a few years, but there was always an energy that you can't find anywhere else." It was also one of those cities that screamed buffet for a vampire. "What brought you up here? You didn't volunteer as a slave." His brow arched as he considered the other, almost sizing him up.
