Sighing softly, Jake reached forward a little more and grasped her hand gently. It was a loose enough grip that she could easily withdraw her hand from it if she so chose. "It doesn't hurt my pride or my feelings or whatever. What it does is worry me. Wolves, weres included, are territorial. Lone wolves are seen as a threat to the local pack, wherever it may be. And I guarantee you, there are packs everywhere. Unless you get explicit permission from the Alpha of the local pack to live in the area, they'll hunt you and fight you."
Jake needed to remember that she was a new pup and didn't know all the ins and outs of it all. That was why he didn't want her to immediately reject things that he asked of her. It was all to help her learn and grow stronger. Knowledge was strength. "I'm not saying you have to join my pack right away, but I want you to at least be open to the idea of it. I've lived with humans before, as has my pack. I'd be happy to move your family closer to us if you did someday choose to join me. Just remember this... wolves are safer in numbers. There's a lot to learn about being a werewolf, not even including pack life."
