If Trace knew he could reach out to his brothers, he might send them an email. It was still too hard to talk to them knowing what he was now and why. He'd killed someone, accidentally but still. If he wanted to make it through his sentence, then the little to no contact with his brothers would make it easier. He needed to pay his penance for his mistakes, not live like little had changed.
The fact that she didn't pull away from him didn't go unnoticed by Trace. A small smile pulled at the corners of his mouth before his attention was focused on the sight of her soft looking lips. Inching his face forward just a little more, he captured her lips in a quick, soft, and innocent kiss. Before pulling back, he flicked his lips against the seam of hers. Trace looked back up into her eyes after his kiss to see how she would take it.
