Who: Jenna and Emerson

When: Week 11, Tuesday Afternoon
What: Jenna finds a piece of Emerson's past!
Rating: TBD
Status: Closed, In progress
Since Jenna had come into his life, Emerson had spent little time dwelling on even his most recent past. All the same, it was also meeting her that had spurred him into reconnecting with his roots, his mother's roots, as a healer. Whatever he had tapped into back home, it didn't define him. He didn't want that sort of darkness to define him. Will was most important, he determined, and cutting himself off from his magic was akin to slicing off his own limb. That didn't mean the process wouldn't be slow and long, however, and the witch had been prepared for some difficulty as he tried desperately to connect with his roots again.
Life, as it was, was rarely so kind as to grant a reprieve. Two days ago, a letter had come, penned in old-fashioned script, by a lover he had entertained some years back. The correspondence had felt random at best, and Emerson had tossed it aside, unsure of how to handle it in light of recent circumstances. He had had male lovers before, though he tended to prefer the female form, and it always proved a wrench in the works of his love life. He regretted none of it of course, but many women were put off to find that he had shared his bed with men. It wasn't that he desired to cut off contact from the man who had penned the letter, but he wasn't keen on explaining it all to Jenna.
Sure, he technically owned her, but that was a formality in his mind. Jenna had brought life to an existance that he'd practically been dragging along slowly since the last incident. The last thing Emerson wanted was to jeopardize that. She'd been a light in an otherwise dark tunnel. How could he effectively explain to her that he had been with men before? So many women refused to understand that he was ultimately attracted to a person above their gender.
And so Emerson had tucked the letter away into a drawer in his room, completely disregarding Jenna's compulsive desire to be helpfuly and clean what part of Lucien's estate he could claim as his.
