Cat had felt there would be no denying. Had felt so sure Alcuin, in this at least, wanted and desired it. His eyes ahd closed in enjoyment as he traced over his face. Had been so sure that while the other man would probably not touch him in the same way, would allow Cat to. So sure...
The words had Cat's lips parted as aid came whooshing into his lungs, eyes widening just a touch, then turning to follow Alcuin's gaze. His heart felt crushed within his chest and he took trembling fingers away from Alcuin. Laid back, face turned away, and then his body following. Turning from Alcuin. It was so strong and intense, the rejection. He had yet to be rejected by Scott, but figured the wolf would, his feelings for Alcuin so apparent. Cat still hoped, though, because there had been no rejection.
Alcuin... he knew there were mutual feelings, but Alcuin had.. Cat's brown eyes were closed as he tried to stem the flood of emotions he was not use to feeling. Such painful ones.
He should have known. How could there ever be a place for him when they loved each other so? Cat loved them both, sure that if given a slight moment like he had just had with Alcuin, it would hit him just as strong and intensely. But it could never be returned. Never. Impossible. He was, indeed, and interloper upon this small apartment, this budding couple. "I'm sorry," he whispered, voice pained, though he tried to hide it, but Cat was not someone capable of hiding emotions. Always an open book, when he was numb without them to this, the strongest emotions he had ever felt before.
