It was fairly unusual for Dani to go out on a Thursday night, but work had been hard and she needed a release. A part of her heart broke every time she couldn't save an animal or she found out they had some kind of illness that was potentially terminal if not treated. Most times the owners couldn't afford the treatment or didn't want to spend that kind of money and it killed her. There were other times when an owner would pay anything to treat their animal and that restored her faith in humanity, but that hadn't been the case today. She'd had to put a cat to sleep at the owner's request after finding out he had terminal cancer. It sucked, but she also understood. The owner didn't want to put the cat through the pain of treatments to only prolong his life, not save it.
After a quick stop home, she'd showered and dressed and headed out. What she needed was to have a few drinks, find a guy, and have some fun. Thankfully she hadn't found her mate yet so she didn't need to worry about pregnancy. In college, she'd tried sex with a condom and had hated it so she'd never carried one with her again after that. There was no guarantee that she'd get laid tonight, but that was what she was hoping for as she pulled up the bar in the city. As she walked inside, Dani looked around. There were some good looking guys, but after a deep breath in she wrinkled her nose. She could almost smell the desperation on some of them and that was completely unattractive to her.
Sitting at the bar, she ordered two shots of tequila and a Jack and Coke. Quickly downing the two shots, she again let her eyes move around the bar. However, it wasn't until she was sipping on her drink did she hear the door open. Instantly she was hit with the strong scent of another wolf. Taking a deep breath, she smelled alpha on him. It wasn't her brother, that much she knew, but this was one she'd never met before. Then again, she'd only been on the island a short time. Cocking her head to the side, she looked over her shoulder at him. Raising a brow suggestively at him, she smiled and turned back to continue with her drink. Confidence and power were attractive, and this guy exuded it.
