Who: Ambrose and Kenshin Where: Sayuri's Home When: Week 8; Thursday afternoon Rating: Probably nothing! Status: Closed, in progress
Kenshin had made it a distinct point to remain closer, within the grounds in fact, of Sayuri's home after the second attempt on her life Tuesday evening. He was, however, still very torn over the events that had transpired after that. His rage at having nearly failed in his duty to protect his young mistress had given way to the cold ruthlessness of the Battousai that he was famed to be, and then the things that he'd done to Sayuri afterward... She had enjoyed it, and the vampire would've been a liar if he claimed that it hadn't been the brightest part of his three thousand some years on Earth that he'd experienced in some time. She made him feel alive, and it only further served to attach him to his oath to her, an oath he had made willingly in spite of the contract of ownership that bound him legally to her.
And so Kenshin had made a vow, another one in all of his years to never again let his darkness overtake him. He had nearly killed a man, nearly broken his vow to Tomoe and all the people he'd killed during the days of the great war. He would not do so again, and he would never subject Sayuri to the selfish and base instincts of the Battousai.
To return to his meditations was the best course of action for the time being. Kenshin had been gifted with a pair of simple, white hakama with a plain, red haori, and he wore it gladly in spite of how odd he might look to a modern eye. And so he knelt just within his mistress' courtyard, his mind focused intently on the miriad of troubles that plagued him while keeping a keen ear out any off-put sounds.
He heard the approach of the car long before the door closed and the visitor set food on the grounds. Kenshin couldn't help but be slightly wary. The attempts on Sayuri's life, the most recent one in particular, had him on edge, but it wouldn't do to be overly paranoid and suspicious of every person who came to call either.
"This one would be happy to help you, that I would," he spoke aloud, a proper way of greeting a would-be guest while simultaneously warning him that he was well aware of his presence. "Are you here to see Sayuri-dono?" The last question was asked with his usual gentle smile.
