WHO: Willard Schmidt, Mallory Meru
WHEN: Week 8, Tuesday afternoon
WHERE: An office suite in Jannati City
WHAT: Interview for a secretarial position
RATING: I'll leave this marked for high, it is Wills...
STATUS: Closed, in progress
The private business building had a pass-code entrance for security purposes, a building clerk for directions and four stories of private offices. Inside his held a simple office desk and rolling chair, two comfortable meeting chairs in front and in another section of the room to the immediate left were a small sofa and chair for more intimate meetings. The furniture was excellent, simple, with wooden details such as the legs on the chairs had mermaids engraved and seemed to be part of the same collection. He didn't need much of an office for himself as the island's clientele preferred to meet on their time and where they chose.
He hated handling the paperwork though, and was ready to hand that over to someone else. A secretary. Willard hating to be politically correct but the newspaper had insisted they would not publish his original request. The ad in the paper, had been clear enough: Personal Assistant Wanted. Daily tasks include: accounting, managing minimal staff and auxiliary work for business owner. Salary negotiable based on experience. The contact he'd left for the ad was the newspaper editor himself, in which he'd filter anyone that asked, "Would a human be considered?" Because that just wouldn't do. They'd be a hindrance more than anything. All supernaturals would be sent to interview with Will directly.
Looking out the window onto the peaceful bay, he kept the facade of charismatic magician. Today he wore a fine black suit, crisp red shirt unbuttoned at the throat, hair lightly tousled and patient demeanor. He hoped the next would be the last, because it was the last one on his schedule. So far he'd interviewed a few bland and subservient individuals, hoping to be chosen from the masses. They didn't have the backbone to make it in his world. He was looking for something special. And so he waited for the next appointment, a Mallory Meru, as time seemed to slip away.
