Mac hadn't been asleep when she heard a whistle from someone coming up the front of the house. It wasn't Castor, the lion wasn't stupid enough to announce his presence with a whistle with three vampires in the house. CCuriosity, however, quickly left when the door was ripped off. In an instant, Mac was out of her room, and reaching the bottom of her steps, about to reach the second floor, when she saw Jack at the top of the stairway. Her eyes were red and she was ready for a fight, if there was to be one, but she held off finishing the last two steps, listening to the words being passed.
She shallowed her breathing, knowing full well she had already been heard, but still not wanting to call undue attention to herself. Blue eyes returned, but Mac stayed ready for a fight, not liking the tension she felt and the threat in the other man's voice. She didn't have feelings for Jack, or anything, but she had slowly found herself a bit possessive over him. Combine that with an itch to fight, and Mac would gladly stand with her master if she had to.
She was also curious due to the use of certain words, such as 'son' and 'sire.' Though, if this guy, whom she hadn't seen yet, really was her master's sire, she already knew she'd be entering a losing battle if she went up against him. Still, she didn't like the tones.
