25 dates Flowers
Title: Amaranth
Prompt- 25dates, Flowers
Wordcount- 700
Claim- Original, Tyge Ecarius/Erebus Nyx. (Supernatural/fantasy)
AN: Amaranth is a type of herb flower, not extraordinary in looks, but it has great meaning, especially in Greek culture, as a symbol of immortality. Yellow roses mean 'sorry'.
Not entirely sure my (at the time) great idea for how to write this prompt worked, but I like it well enough. Enjoy.
Hope I did the cut right....
7:31 Pm.
T-minus fourteen minutes until Tyge would arrive, and Nyx was getting ready to hang himself his own hair. The whole idea had been stupid-it had been Tyge's idea after all-and he didn't know why he'd agreed. He blamed it on Tyge catching him unawares, pulling him out of a recording session to ask him out, using his best persuasive grin. The one that had gotten him a senior position at Silver Lining Studio's faster then anyone else in history. If Nyx hadn't been distracted, he'd have said no, and he'd be spending his day off relaxing, not worrying about his hair or his clothes or proper 21st century dating etiquette. Feeling very much out of the loop with reality, and a bit like a teenage girl.
He'd taken two showers since lunch. Two. Had change his hair style three times before deciding to leave it down-Tyge said it looked best that way after all. He'd had two cups of coffee in an hour, and he was sure he'd have to go pee as soon as Tyge arrived and they got in the car. Which would be horribly embrassing and just his luck too. There was still half a cup left in the machine though, and he hated wasting things. Bad for the environment, after all.
7:40pm.
He'd switched shirts again. The blue one made him look fat, and the black one made him look like some kind of African-American gangster. He'd thought about a suit at first, he had one for emergencies, but then remembered that men didn't wear suits on dates anymore. They weren't going to a fancy place, Tyge had said it was a smaller resturant on Young street, where people didn't whisper or look to long at two men eating a meal together or flirting. Not one of those nasty gay bars, but not up scale.
Maybe he should switch his slacks to jeans then, just in case? Or would that be to generic?
Hells bells, he needed to go to the bathroom. That last cup of coffee had not been kind to him.
7:45pm.
Is it counted as being late if your not in the driveway at the assigned time, or is it only late after a minute has passed? Or is it five minutes, to give for traffic or watch discrepancies? He really should have asked someone. Who, he didn't know, seeing as his only friend was Oliver, and the nerdy man had less experience with dating then Nyx did himself. Really, whoever thought all vampires were sexual beings needs to pay a visit to Oliver and Fran's house. Two most unsexy people he'd ever met, threw ever Vampire sterotype out the window.
Tyge was late now. Without a doubt. Maybe he should call his cell phone, just in case the blonds car had crashed. The idiot should have let Nyx pick him up, Tyge shouldn't be driving with his leg, not after a full day at work. Tyge had insisted, though, something about it being the 'askers' job to pick up the 'askee'.
He wonder if it was just him, or did all the cars driving by suddenly all turn into blue BMW's?
8:15pm.
So Tyge had been extraordinarily late, and they were going to likely have to go somewhere else since their reservations had expired fifteen minutes ago. He did have a good reason for it-some annoying ghost had been haunting the studio's garage, and Tyge never drove when ghosts were around (not after the accident, of course). Had he did look apologetic, as well as very dashing in those tight black pants and his new swede coat. Nyx would forgive him-and really, a half an hour wasn't so bad.
The large bouquet of Amaraths and yellow roses had nothing to do with it, of course. Only girls cared about flowers, and Tyge probably had no idea about the meaning of the flowers anyways.
