They’d celebrated, talked a little and then Landon and Jayci walked home, but he started them back towards his home instead. There was something about getting Jayci back behind those walls that made him feel like she needed to be somewhere safe. He squeezed her fingers when they got to the door, holding it open for her and leaning around to punch in the security codes to let them in and then lock the doors behind them again. He reached for her, pulling her to him. “Tell me this is a good idea.”
Jayci kept hold of his hand, happy to have it there. Happy that he was a presence that calmed her down, that made her feel like it would be okay. Really, if she didn't have him she wasn't sure how she'd get by. She still thought he should duck and cover, but she didn't think he would. And there was part of her that was eternally grateful for it. She noticed he was taking them back to his place and she didn't question it, but was a little surprised. She was again when he pulled her in and her arms went around him easily as she looked up at him. “It's the right idea,” she told him, which wasn't exactly what he'd asked, but she couldn't say it was good. It wasn't a good plan. It was barely a plan at all yet. But it was probably the right thing to do.
He leaned down to rest his forehead against hers. “I don’t like it at all,” he said. “I don’t know if I like her either. I know, she’s family, but she’s pushy.” And bossy and horrible. And he had a sick feeling that she wasn’t going to be able to help either one of them. He sighed and kissed her softly, pulling back a little, still only half sure that that sort of thing was okay.
Jayci closed her eyes and stayed there with him. “I know,” she said softly. “And I know,” she added about Mazie. “She's a kind of tough personality to get along with, but at the core of her, she cares. She's just not great at expressing that and she never quite learned social graces,” she tried to explain, though she wasn't actually making an excuse. “I usually just call bullshit but I can do that, I'm her cousin. Pretty sure she'd eat the face off of anyone else who tried it. It's kind of why she's not doing this herself. She doesn't have the personality for it.” When he kissed her, she returned it, still also getting used to that but it gave her a little thrill in the pit of her stomach. She liked that. “I know you're worried.”
He sighed and pulled her even closer, if that was a thing. “I just don’t want this to go...horrible.” Which it was. He was already letting her sign her death warrant and he just had to sit by and do it. He kissed her again, harder this time, working her back a step or two, towards the wall. “She hates me. But I don’t care. Because I’m only doing any of this for you. Any of it.”
“I know,” she said again. “I don't either,” she told him. Though she couldn't actually imagine an outcome where it didn't. She kissed him back, the distraction really what she needed right now. Her arms went up around his neck as her back pressed against the wall. That was a nice feeling. “She hates most people,” she told him, smiling just a little. “You know I need you, right?” she asked. “I do. You should walk away from all of this, you really should, but...” But she was being selfish, really. She needed him bad.
“Well, then at least it’s not just me she hates.” He kissed her again ducking just a little to lift her up, strong enough to do it, using the wall to help keep her there. “You know I’m not leaving you right?” he murmured, then kissed her neck. “I can’t walk away from you, not now.” Not now that he knew. He hadn’t for a moment realized this was possible, but here it was, an option, and one he couldn’t get away from.
Jayci’s legs easily wrapped around him, and she gave an appreciative sound, sparks flying in her veins. She tilted her head back to give him all the room he wanted, and she shut her eyes, smiling. “Good,” she told him. “I don’t want you to.” That was an understatement by far. She needed him. And now that their relationship had reached a new level? It was one of the few things that she had to hold onto that was still normal. This, right here, talking about dire things but still wanting nothing more than for him to keep going with this.
He kissed along the column of her neck, shifting his hold on her to lean back and tugging his shirt up and off. They could do this, here in the hallway, marble floors, tinted glass windows around the door. The wall behind him was steady, structured. His tattoo that started on his face ran down over his shoulder and with what she was saying, it was already starting to glow a little blue. “Then I won’t,” he said, hands under her hips to kiss her again.
Jayci was a passionate person so when someone directed it her way it was something she loved. She also loved that she saw the flash of blue there. She reached for him to pull him back once his shirt was gone, her hands drifting behind his neck then down the backs of his shoulders as much as she could. “Something got your heart pumping?” she asked playfully, even if her own breath was coming a little faster. That as she used her leverage to grind against him.
“You know you have,” he said softly, half rolling his eyes. He groaned when she ground against him, pushing back against her. “Do we do this here?” he asked, because he was definitely doing it. He wasn’t about to stop. Not when they only had so long. Now he wasn’t going to waste a moment without her. “Or just the first round here?”
Jayci grinned at that. Then she whispered into his ear. “Just fuck me, Landon. Anywhere you want, as many rounds as you want, take me anywhere you want,” she said, giving him free reign. She wanted that, she wanted him to take his desires into account, wanted to know what he wanted when given that idea of a completely open landscape of possibilities.
He groaned, cybernetic tattoo lighting up bright blue and he had to keep from hurting her as whatever it was that made him stronger flooded into his veins. “Yeah okay, we do this here.” To start at least. He pulled back, holding her with one hand easily with his cybernetics lit up and pulling at her shirt.
That kind of got to her in a way she hadn’t seen coming. She didn’t view him as the big strong type, he was an artist. But the show of strength there, damn. Yeah, that had her stomach doing a really pleasant dive. She lifted her arms to help him get them off of her, and she almost reached for her pants, but in the end she wanted him to do that. Her heart was kicking up hard. This might be the hottest moment ever in her life to date.
He did just what she wanted, going for her pants to undo them. He wanted to get them off, then get his off and do this once here, then another time back on his bed. And maybe once more in his shower. He got her pants undone then pulled back to help her get them off.
She was shoving at her clothes to get them off as fast as possible, getting naked probably quicker than she’d ever managed it before. Her gallery of tattoos were all visible and she smiled, thinking that her next tattoo needed to be done by him. She wanted his art on her. She put her hands up to his neck and pushed in close, her chest against his. </i>Anything you want,</i> she told him via link, a soft whisper in his head.
He managed to get out of his pants and his underwear while she did, though they were mostly just pooled around his knees. He wanted to spend time looking at her tattoos, but that would have to wait for later. Later he’d trace each one with his fingers and his tongue. Right now he had other things in mind.
That soft voice in his head, the gentle reach made him go for it, getting her up again and pushing her back against the wall. It was fumbling, for a moment, and then he was sinking in, no hesitation, just pushing in with a groan as he cupped her cheek and drug her into a heated kiss.
Jayci loved this. The passion, it was amazing, and she was swept up with it immediately. Damn, she loved the feel of being pinned to the wall by him. She gasped when he was in, and then she was kissing him like her life depended on it. It was hard, unyielding, full of need that she wanted him to know was there. She wanted him to feel it.
In the back of his mind, he was relieved it wasn’t just him. He was worried, for a moment there, that she might not be as invested, as interested, but when she kissed him like that, any doubt went out the window. He braced one hand on the wall by her head for leverage, finding a quick pace that was more about getting there than anything else. Later, later he’d take his time, undo them both slowly, but right now was about that need to get their hands on one another.
Jayci wasn’t complaining. There was a time and place for things and fast and hard right now was exactly what she wanted. She didn’t try to quiet herself, letting the acoustics in the place take her voice and run with it. She let a string of messages whisper to him that were only semi-coherent lust filled fragments, but they were all about how amazing he was and how he was making her feel.
The mix of both, her voice in his head and the noises she was making was amazing. It was incredible. It did things to him that Landon couldn’t explain. He worked harder, chasing down more than just the sex, the climax. Like there was something more to it than just this.
Jayci was lost, and rushing headlong toward the shiny brilliant end, nails biting a little into the back of his shoulder as she held on for dear life. The internal and out loud chorus continued, getting even less coherent as things built up, and it was his name that was screamed in both forms as she did finally crash, wanting nothing more than to take him with her.
She definitely had him with her. Nothing in the world existed but Jayci and that moment, that intense fire of a moment that stole Landon’s breath. He choked on a groan, then toppled after her with a few more rapid thrusts until he shuddered and stilled. He slumped into her, leaning more on the wall, but with that way his tattoos were still glowing blue, he had plenty of strength to hold them both up. For a long moment he panted, their forehead pressed together, then he leaned in to kiss her softly, lovingly.
She had to come down and she was really glad that she trusted him not to drop her because she’d hit the ground if he tried. She kissed him back when he finally did that, and she let it linger too, with a softness that definitely went against the grain of what they’d just been doing. But she really liked that, that return to something sweeter. “God, you’re good,” she told him in an exhale.
That made him laugh, a light rumble in his chest as he pressed his forehead against her shoulder, then smiled up at her, almost bashful despite where they were. “So’re you,” he murmured, kissing her once more before easing back, releasing her, but still holding her up even as he let her back down to the ground. “And beautiful. So beautiful.”
She wasn’t sure how well her legs were going to support her right now. She gazed up at him and leaned on him a little as she got her feet on the ground. “Not to sound lame, but so are you,” she told him, quirking a satisfied smirk. “C’mon, let’s find that bed of yours,” she encouraged, wanting to curl up with him. And maybe continue this when they had a little recovery time…
He smiled back at her, kissing that smirk before kneeling to grab the pile of their clothes and fix his pants so they were at least loosely resting around his waist. Then he handed her his shirt, just so they could walk through the atrium without anyone seeing anything. “Yes.” He reached for her hand to guide her back to the portion of the library he thought of as his. They should probably talk, but he wasn’t sure what there was to say. He had a feeling there were things to say, but he wasn’t sure where to start. He leaned into her, pulling her close to his side. “You’d tell me if you were unhappy right?”
Jayci was happy to not talk, personally as she was still in the cocoon of pleasant aches. When he asked though, she leaned against his side, arms going around his middle. “Yeah,” she promised. “I’d tell you. Hell, you’d probably know anyway.” He was pretty in tune with her, she imagined he’d get it before she had to say anything. “I’m scared about what’ll come, but honestly, right now?” she looked up at him, “I’m right where I want to be.”
Landon traced her cheek with his thumb when she looked up at him, letting that look soothe some of his aches about the whole thing. He ducked his head to kiss her and nodded. “Me too.” And he’d deal with whatever came.
