RP: I wanna be your Friday night sweet ride

Eliza had gone simply with some sparkle for her Friday night - the first of two for the weekend, surely - at Carnival. She had counted down the minutes until Cogg & Bell Clockmakers had closed at half six and then gone home to make dinner and get ready for the night out. She wore her bright red hair down in natural waves, and a nude lip.

When she arrived at Carnival Club at half nine, the place was still a little on the slow side, but she liked that. She liked having a better pick of the tables and to be able to get her first few drinks without waiting in the lines that would take over the multiple bars by 11. She smiled as she chose her spot and listened to the DJ ramping up the music as the crowd grew. This was her favorite way to spend a weekend night, especially knowing she had a bedside table full of hangover remedy potions waiting for her and that her cousin Etta and friend Amara would both definitely be joining her tonight.

Molly had gone simple tonight, but let the color of her simple slip dress speak for itself. She had needed to let herself go for a night - the worry and stress over what to do with their Uncle's property - had her tossing and turning all week and worrying her lips while staring into space during her shifts at the shop. She was too much like her father in some ways - too damned practical, sometimes, for her own good. Hell, she'd even turned her clubbing nights into a business and responsibility over the years. Zee, her muggle manager, wouldn't be happy with her if he knew she was out tonight - she'd scaled back big time on her appearances over the last few months - but luckily Carnival was fully Magic and so they wouldn't know.

She'd been pleased she could vent her needs to Hunter and he'd wanted to come along with her, even if they both knew he'd have to call it an earlier night than most thanks to Quidditch being back on. She entered the club on his arm with a relaxed look to her - finally able to lose her thoughts in the loud music and startling lights. Her long blonde hair was in 'innocent' pigtails and thrown an air kiss at the bouncer as they passed, earning a rare, joking smile in return.

Sometimes Hunter felt that he was - in the best way - like an accessory on Molly's arm when she looked as good as she did now. It was nearly a year since they'd got together and he felt luckier every day. Ever since his lunch with Thad, he'd been turning over ideas of how to make their anniversary special. He could tell, though, that she'd been preoccupied since visiting the property that she and Lucy had inherited.

He smiled at the way she seemed to light up the club when they walked in. "Drinks?" he suggested. Hunter knew that he'd be calling it a night relatively earlier, so he wanted to have some fun first.

Molly looked his way from where she'd been slightly entranced by the light show, and nodded, "That sounds good," she gave him a genuine, wide smile. He was so freaking handsome, and gallant, and sweet, and intelligent and just being with him made her feel... proud of herself. Which she knew was weird. But she felt that way all the same.

"Thank you for coming out tonight, I needed this," she said with a sigh as they headed to the nearest bar and he ordered her usual (a whiskey sour) and his drink without even needing to ask what she wanted. She liked that about him, too, his attentiveness.

She had told him all about the inheritance and Lucy's ideas and her worries, though she'd also tried not to vent on him too much knowing he certainly had his own stresses (especially this time of year). Molly was less prone to melancholy than her boyfriend of nearly a year, but more prone to over-thinking.

Hunter opted for a beer tonight, something he knew that he could drink slowly since he would probably only have one or two. It wouldn't be a good idea to get drunk when they still had a little light training tomorrow before they played the Prides on Sunday. That was always a tough match for Hunter, who'd been a lifelong fan of the Pride of Portree before he'd been recruited by the Magpies. He wanted to be at his best.

He leaned over, kissing her softly. "I could tell. I could almost hear you thinking." Hunter pressed another kiss to her forehead, right between her eyes. He wanted her to have a night off from her worries and just be Molly, not Molly Sue the brand.

Molly rolled her eyes but gave him an indulgent smile. "You're too good to me, to let me be a neurotic mess and help me get out of my head," she meant it - a lot of people found that sort of trait (the over thinking) very, very annoying, but he never seemed to mind, and Molly had learned to reign it in a bit over the years, which helped balance it.

She took a nice, long first drink of her cocktail -- sweet and well-balanced and strong -- and then leaned in to say suggestively in his ear, "Walking in here, I could see every witch in the room shooting daggers at me and heart eyes at you and it made all the thinking fade away. It was perfect. As is my drink. Thank you."

Hunter had grown up with Skye, brilliant and brainy Skye, so he had at least a little experience with women who had a lot on their mind.

"Aye, I've got to get the good stuff in now before I become a Quidditch bore meathead for the next few months." With a World Cup just around the corner, it was a big year for the sport.

Wrapping his free arm around Molly's waist, Hunter had heart eyes of his own. "I don't believe that they were shooting daggers at you, but I will absolutely take the compliment." He was a McLaggen, after all. "Maybe they were just jealous of how incredible you look tonight." Her red dress was a work of art.

"You," she said, emphasizing the word, "are never a bore." It was true, even when he was at his most quidditch-obsessed, she never bored of him. Even if Quidditch wasn't her thing, she loved seeing him passionate about it. About anything, really.

Goodness, she loved him.

She rolled her eyes at his compliment, "This dress is just - literally - a slip, it's nothing to write home about," she brushed it off. Her usual fashion was outrageous and over the top, even with the bright red, this dress was very understated for her.

Hunter begged to differ. He had a strong competitive drive and that tended to make him a little single-minded sometimes. By the end of the summer, there was a chance she might be thinking just opposite.

His hand rested on the small of her back, thumb stroking over the silky fabric. "But you make it look so good." Molly managed to look effortless and it was incredibly sexy.

"Want to see if we can sweet talk our way into a VIP booth?"

Molly might have blushed lightly at his compliment. It was - to her - the very best compliment one could get, especially from her significant other.

And then she laughed, "I'm pretty sure we can do that. What with you being one of the hottest and most famous Quidditch pros in the world and all," and then she had a thought, "Oh, isn't Gavin coming by tonight, too?" She was sure he had mentioned his teammate, who Molly didn't know well, but didn't dislike. "I'm sure he'd prefer the privacy," Gavin didn't seem the most... people-oriented, from her few interactions with him over the last year, anyway.

She instinctively headed in the direction of the VIP booths, and gave a smile to the bouncer there, before throwing her arms around his neck, "Gio!" She greeted the very large man. "I haven't seen you in ages, how's the little babe?" Gio's wife had given birth over last summer, she remembered, and she had seen pictures of the perfect little bundle the last time she'd seen him.

"She's good, but growing was too fast for my liking," he answered, returning her hug loosely and trying to keep his smile small, being as he was supposed to be all intimidating and such. He looked behind her to Hunter and gave him a hello and a smile as well, "You two hoping for one of these?" He really tried to hide his smile now.

Molly nodded, "I know I didn't call ahead, this was a little bit last minute. We won't be staying too late if that helps any," she gave him her usual slight pout of adorable big eyes and full lips, and he shook his head with a laugh pulling back the velvet rope for them.

"Head to the left, there's a free one, take all the time you like," he was used to Molly's antics.

"Oh! Gavin Montgomery is most likely joining us, if you don't letting him know where we are if he asks?" She knew Gio would know Gavin when he saw him, it was hard not to in the Wizarding World. The large wizard agreed and Molly led the way to their VIP booth.

"Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Gavin showed up." Hunter had told his teammates about his plans for a night out - it hadn't been a direct invitation, more an indication that he planned to be at the Carnival if anyone else felt like blowing off a bit of steam.

Hunter had a proud, slightly dopey smile as he watched Molly work her magic on the VIP bouncer. Merlin's beard, she was amazing. When she secured their table, he pulled out his phone, shooting off a brief text to the team group chat.

He took advantage of the increased privacy of the booth to kiss her. "I love when you do the big puppy dog eyes to get your way."

Molly blushed, "You're a rare man, Hunter McLaggen - and I love that you're so secure in yourself and in us that it doesn't bother you." Her voice was low and intimate, but she knew he heard her over the bouncing music. She settled in with his arm around her and people watched, looking forward to the others potentially joining but glad for the 'alone' time with him, too.

She had never expected Hunter coming into her life, all from a flirty DM on Winsta of all things, but she was so grateful every day for him, for the man he was and the ways they supported each other in all things. Nights like this - when she wasn't 'on the clock' and when they could just enjoy themselves in the moment - made her so relaxed and content and the warmth of him next to her soothed her to her bones, even with the stress of everything going on in her life right now. She was young, in love, and had the whole world at her feet - at least, that's how she felt at the moment, and it felt pretty damned amazing.

Sofía and Bash

Tonight's foray to the Carnival was a little outside of Sofía's comfort zone. She wasn't even sure where the suggestion had come from exactly, but she was very much enjoying public dates with Bash and it seemed that both Lily and Thomas both needed a distraction.

Dressed in black jeans and a red tank top that gave a peek at her midriff, Sofía wished she'd worn a dress or a skirt. Not for any particular reason other than that was what she tended to wear out of the house on a day-to-day basis. She adjusted her hair and checked her lipstick in the mirror before leaving the bathroom and making a beeline for Bash.

"Miss me?"

Sofia's outfit had made it impossible for Bash to take his hands off her since they'f arrived. Her jeans hugged her thighs in a way that made Bash downright jealous of the damned denim material! And the peaks of skin from her top - skin that he knew better than anyone in the world besides maybe Sof herself - had his chest puffed in pride and his hand steadily at the small of her back no matter how they all stood.

Their friends had needed a night out - Bash had provided everyone with hangover cures already - and Bash had suggest the club mostly curious as to how Sofia would look in the atmosphere. Clubs weren't his scene, and he looked misplaced in his comfortable, but trendy, clothes, but gods did she look good and make putting up with a club night out more than worth it.

"My hands did," he said, his voice low, leaning in to give her a quick kiss. Other than his hand and the odd comment or kiss, he'd done his best not to lay it on as thickly as they normally did, with their friends there to be social.

"Behave," Sofía murmured half-heartedly, though she definitely felt a thrill at the way Bash said that. She hadn't been out like this since the summer after she'd graduated, a fun night out with the girls from her dorm. That night she hadn't garnered attention from anyone at all like Bash, the casual lines of his clothes almost making his cheekbones look sharper.

"Are we going to see you grace the dance floor tonight," she teased. "Or you just going to loiter looking tall, dark and brooding?"

He grinned at her, "Never," and then winked. He adored Sofia's more sensible side, but something about her presence short-circuited his brain in a lot of ways.

He laughed, saying to her and a little but to Thomas, too, "She knows me all too well," he gave Tommy an indulgent smile. "Brooding is definitely my agenda tonight, I don't dance, and trust me you don't want to see me try. I'm sure Tommy has stories that would horrify you and you would never find me sexy again, I swear."

He looked out to the dance floor from where they all stood not too far from a bar, "But if you want to dance, please feel free, and know that the entire time you do, I will be very much enjoying the show," he smirked. He loved showing her off now that they could be 'public' and the idea of any - every - man in the room seeing how electric and sensual she was if she was dancing made him hungry. He was pretty sure she could see such a feeling in his eyes, even if he kept his tone light.

"Okay, but now I want to hear those stories," Sofía said, looking between Bash and Thomas. "I want to hear all the horrifying stories. The more embarrassing the better." She didn't know Thomas much yet, but he was Bash's best friend, so she hoped that she would eventually. Just like eventually she'd introduce Bash to Hugo and hope there weren't fireworks.

The look in Bash's eyes warmed her, pushing aside any lingering thoughts she might have had about being curled up at home with a good book. "Maybe I will in a bit." If Lily wanted to dance, that was. She wasn't going out there by herself.

Bash widened his eyes and shook his head at Thomas. But then at her concession that she may dance tonight, he dipped his head and briefly kissed her neck in appreciation.

"Drinks?" He asked the group, "This rounds my treat," he definitely needed one - at least - to dull his senses a bit so as to calm down his raging need for Sofia. Once he had everyone's order, he stepped away with another quick kiss to her lips, and stopped at the bar to get them. He headed back to the little group and handed out the glasses, sipping his own sazerac (no lemon twist).

"If Bash keeps buying drink then you might." Thomas smirked. He couldn't remember he saw Bash act like a love drunk schoolboy. It was a nice change, if a little odd. They'd both been brooding, borderline cynics since they started their training.

"Oh, Bash. Penicillin?" A bit of a departure, but it was a good sipping drink. Thomas wanted to see how this night progressed.

Lily popped up at Sofia's request. Lily had jumped at the chance for a night out. She'd ended whatever her and Gavin had and needed to keep her mind off of it. "I'll dance!"

Anything to not feel like the little sister. She'd grown up around Thomas and he still looked at her the same way Albie did. She wondered what Ablie would say if she told him what she'd been doing.

"Now?" She pulled on Sofia's arm as they walked to the dance floor.

Sofía beamed, inwardly delighted that Thomas - she didn’t feel comfortable enough to call him Tommy yet - seemed to approve of her enough to hint that he might share some embarrassing stories about Bash. It was the perfect distraction from the way Bash kept looking at her as though she was the most delectable treat that was just out of his reach.

She passed her paloma back to Bash to look after, letting Lily tug her along with no resistance. There was something about the atmosphere of the club and her outfit that made her feel downright sexy, a side of herself that she’d only really discovered recently. Sofía hoped that Lily would get to feel some of that tonight after the confusing jumble of things that had happened between her and Gavin Montgomery.

“I love this song!” They’d been playing music to plants in the greenhouse this week and this tune was one that kept getting stuck in her head.

Lily tried to keep up with Sofia's moves, she needed to just forget everything tonight. She felt the beat trying to mirror Sofía as she moved. The further they got into the song, the looser Lily felt like coming up for air.

"I can see why!" She closed her eyes, focusing on the beat. "You and Bash look good together!" She smiled, continuing to move.

Sofía moved closer so that she could hear Lily better, her dark curls shifting around her shoulders. "Thanks!" It was so weird to hear someone say that after keeping things secret for weeks, but lovely at the same time. She couldn't help the wide smile on her face, glancing back over her shoulder to try and spot Bash. "He's so sweet to me."

She was probably the only person in the world who'd ever said that about Bash Pucey. Was it wrong to be a little smug about that?

Bash watched his girlfriend - that word still sounded so weird to him, privately - dance with her roommate. They both looked younger than the rest on the dance floor, but his eyes barely strayed from Sof anyway. She looked incredible. So much it nearly hurt.

Tommy had asked about the start of their relationship, after the Gossip Guru post, and Bash had been honest (not about their activities in his Lab at the hospital, of course, but about their falling for each other while he was training her). The small smile on his face as he watched her had Tommy laughing at him and he shoved his friend, not too hard though so as not to splash their cocktails. He laughed, while he did it, though, and gave a slightly self-abashed smile.

It was odd being out at a club, but seeing his friend enjoying himself and seeing Sofia and Lily dance - carefree and laughing and smiling - gave him a sort of feeling he wasn't used it. It felt... right. Like something in his life was making him... happy. Something other than potions and solitude.

Etta & Open

Fridays and Saturdays off were something Etta always looked forward too. Eliza could usually be relied on to be going to a club or doing something exciting. She had debated for a bit and ended up flipping a coin to choose a dress just a bit darker than her skintone, along with golden heels and eye makeup.

She hadn't arrived too early, but she had drunk a vodka tonic while she was getting ready so she wasn't too eager for the bar anyway. The dance floor on the other hand had her name on it. She looked around for any familiar faces, but wasn't bothered when she didn't see any immediately (her height was against her there, despite the heels). Instead she wound her way through the dancefloor until she could feel the base thumping through her body and began to sway and wind her hips to the music, hands occasionally sweeping over her head of springy curls.

Etta & Eliza

Eliza was taller than her cousin Etta, having taken after (according to her Mum) her dad Anthony on that one. She didn't sneak up behind her, but she'd seen her hit the dance floor from her strategically chosen table of four chairs on an elevated portion of the club and spelled a 'taken' sign over to it before heading to the floor and coming up to her cousin just as the woman had turned around, not facing Eliza's entrance.

"Etta!" She exclaimed over the music, "You look AH-MAY-ZING," Eliza's eyes had gone wide. She didn't not have her cousin's body, and had often been envious (in a good way) of her in that. For example, there was no way Eliza couldn't ever wear Etta's dress - she'd look like a child playing dress up!

Even over the music Etta easily recognised her cousin's voice and she squealed happily, before turning and throwing her arms around her. "Eliza you're fabulous," she yelled, before drawing back and looking at her dress. "Argh, I almost wore a sparkly dress! You look so good!" she said with a bit of a bounce, the spells on her shoes protecting her feet.

"Free Friday!" she cheered and whooped as she threw her arms up. The exuberance that she kept at bay for huge chunks of the week was bubbling up inside her and she made her want to move. "Anyone you've been eyeing up?" she asked. Not that she was single minded, she was just up for all the ways she could have a good night out, and frankly a bit of a flirt was always fun.

Eliza grinned at Etta's greeting, and then squealed along with her, throwing her arms around her in return. "It's about time!" Etta only got free fridays like once a month - Eliza couldn't imagine.

"Oh MY GOD," Eliza said, leaning in to detail the gossip around the club, "there is a man at a table in the VIP section that is drool-worthy hot, I've been trying to catch his eye but he hasn't left his little VIP bubble," she rolled her eyes. "You?" She asked. Half the fun of her nights out were the eye-candy.

"Oooh, I have got to see him," she said, somewhat subtly dancing her way in that general direction to have a better view. "But boo, you gotta make time for us common folk who absolutely look really hot on your arm!"

She made a disappointed face. "Not yet, you found me before I got to have a proper look around," she said with a pout. "I did pass a guy with the nicest arse I have possibly ever seen, but he was having it groped by a guy with a beard, so probably out of luck."

"Right?!" Eliza replied emphatically, "We would look fabulous draped over him in that VIP banquette." She giggled, and then pouted as Etta continued. "Sad," it was so sad when someone was taken already. Especially earlier in the night like this. "Well, do you want to do a lap then? We can get a good look at the eye candy in VIP and maybe find ourselves some more attainable hotties," she waggled her eyebrows.

"Oh yes, I must see and be seen," Etta said dramatically, wriggling slightly to adjust her dress. She hooked a hand into Eliza's elbow and slid it down to grab her hand and make their way out of the mass of bodies at the centre of the dance floor. "I better not have put on lace for nothing," she said with a wink. There was definitely no visible lace on her body at the moment.

She moved in the direction she knew the VIP booth was first, wanting to have a look at whatever divine being Eliza had spotted. As they wove through people she made sure to brush up against a few vaguely interesting men.

Laughing along with her cousin, Eliza followed's Etta's leave through the crowd. Once they reached the booths, eh discretely pointed out the man who'd caught her eye - he was older and had a vibe about him that screamed strong masculinity and control and she liked that.

She then led the way away, not wanting to get caught obviously gawking, and headed toward a group of what looked like mid-twenty-something men out for a bachelor party, the man of honor being pranked and shots being practically poured down his throat. Eliza wrinkled her nose.

"Merlin and Godric that man is hot," she groaned when she spotted the man. It took her a couple of seconds longer than it should for her eyes to pull away from him, but she was fairly sure she managed not to make a fool of herself. Talk about wanting to ride people like a broomstick.

Etta saw the way they were headed and her nose wrinkled too. "Eliza there's not looking like a tit in front of important people and there's a mess waiting to happen," she cautioned and started to move around the mass of testosterone masquerading as men. Consent went both ways and she had doubts most of them were going to be doing well for it soon.

She saw a cluster of what looked like slightly older people who were part of an awkward looking outing, several of them looked far too formal. Did workplaces organise club nights? "What is with them?" she asked next to Eliza's ear.

As they walked away Eliza nearly whined, "I know, right?" Why did the gorgeous ones always close themselves off like that?! Right stuck-up wankers, if you asked Elizabeth. What was the point of going to a club and just sitting all secluded and boring all night?

She laughed at Etta's summing up of the bachelor party, "They're trying sooooo hard," she said through her chuckles and rolled her eyes. She was tempted to use the buffoons for some free drinks, but that was probably going to be too much effort when she could just buy her own. She still lived at her Mum's place - just the two of them, like always - and pretty much all of her income was disposable.

"Oh," Eliza turned to look at the group Etta indicated, "Conference outing gone wrong? They look sooooo uncomfortable." She gave a sad shake of her head, she couldn't imagine.

"Ugh, not much in the way of interesting prospects tonight, I think I need shots. You? You're not on call tonight, right? Free Friday?" She turned to head to the nearby bar with thoughts of tequila filling her head.

"I'm trying hard," Etta insisted, "but I look less of a mess doing it." She'd almost said hotter, but she couldn't deny that a couple of them looked attractive, even if she didn't want to interact with them.

"Thank fuck family business means the idea team bonding means the non family staff to a nice dinner," she said. She had zero desire to try and go through what some big company decided was an appropriate teambuilding exercise. Even the folks at the the shop seemed to go in for tea or takeaway rather than whatever that was.

She nodded emphatically. "Shots! No Floo calls in the middle of the night for me," she cheered. "And nothing tomorrow either." They did sometimes have services at weekends if it was the only time a family could do, but it was a rarity unless it was someone of a faith which required rites to be performed as soon as possible.

They continued chatting as they waited to be served, before she eventually caught the eye of the bartender, indicating they were probably next. "Shots please, tequila for her, peach schnapps for me," She knew she'd probably have to spend more for the schnapps, but she'd never quite got the taste for any of the more standard options. She held up one finger and flickered a second up and down, raising an eyebrow at Eliza. She could fill in if they were having one or two.

Eliza couldn't help but roll her eyes - Etta did not need to try too hard. Hard at all. She was stunning and brilliant and Eliza knew she could be totally effortless and still be both of those things. Shaking her head and laughing it off, she replied, "You don't need to and you certainly don't look like that while you're doing it."

"Family businesses are tits," Eliza nodded in agreement, even if she hated her job, she loved the ease and flexibility of working for her Mum, and didn't really have any ambitions to be shooting for anyway.

"Two rounds each, please, on me," she lay down the card connected to her Gringotts account and added, "Start us a tab, please?" She didn't often cover a night out fully, but when Etta got a free night she always felt a bit more free and fanciful, so why not?

"This is just the beginning," she told the bartender with a cheeky wink. He laughed, shook his head, and poured them their shots, waving as he headed down the bar to serve a couple of witches waiting less than patiently. She lifted her first toward her cousin and said, "Cheers! To Free Friday!" They toasted and threw back the alcohol, hoping the night would bring more than the 'prospects' has promised thus far.

Since she was between projects, Amara had been absolutely thrilled by Eliza's suggestion that they hit the Carnival tonight. Odds were she'd have gone out somewhere tonight anyway, but the Carnival was one of her favorite spots, and she liked knowing her friends would be getting out for the fun, too. She took her time getting ready, choosing a sparkly dress with bold colors and a short hemline, pairing it with red heels and deep red lips. She could hardly be seen at a club with a naked face!

Arriving fashionably late, a little past half ten, the club was already filling up by the time she walked in, the doorman waving her in past the queue lined up outside. She leaned up to brush a kiss against his cheek before heading in, fluffing her dark, wide curls as she glanced around. The click of her heels was drowned out by the heavy pulse of music, and she naturally gravitated toward the dancefloor.

Jasper wasn't above being ambitious when he went out for the evening and though he'd seen a few tempting guys eyeing him up, none of them had really caught his attention for more than a dance or a few quick words. As he contemplated nipping outside for a smoke and to text Kenzie, someone did catch his attention, like a magpie spotting something shiny.

A slow smile bloomed on his face. She was very shiny indeed, wearing the sort of lipstick that he wanted to see how much he could smudge, even if he knew it was probably charmed not to budge. Amara Ahuja. Only a few weeks ago he'd been cuddling with Kenzie and watching Once Upon A Wedding. Merlin, she'd been hot in that.

Knowing he'd regret it if he didn't shoot his shot, Jasper maneuvered his way into her space on the dance floor. He didn't crowd her, but he did smile, making it clear he was interested in dancing a little more closely.

It was common for her to draw interested men in on the dancefloor, and the curly haired guy that danced his way close to her, making sure to catch her eye, was hardly the first tonight. He was cute and familiar in a way she couldn't quite pin down, and though he wasn't her physical type in general, he was certainly cute enough to dance with and let buy her a drink if he were inclined.

Her body turned toward him, her hips shimmying and shaking to the strong beat, her hands raised above her head. Once he was close enough, she wasn't shy in the way her hands dropped to his shoulders, her body moving with his now.

Pleased to have captured her attention, Jasper let himself enjoy the way that her body moved so sinuously before his own hands founds her hips. He kept his touch on the lighter side of firm, not wanting to put her off. Meeting someone like this could be a delicate game, one that was exceedingly fun to play.

After another song, the music shifting to something a little more mellow, Jasper flashed her a smile. "Drink?" he suggested.

As his hands went to her hips, she gave them an extra shimmy, letting them sway as though he were guiding them. He wasn't terrible at all to dance with, and she was having a lovely time, though she wasn't about to commit to giving all her attention the first guy she danced with tonight. And she still planned to make a point of finding Eliza and Etta for a drink before the night was over.

She smiled back at the cutie as the song shifted. "Yes, please!" she chirped with a small bounce. Her hand snagged his as she shifted in front of him, lifting their joined hands above her head as she danced her way through the crowd. Her moves might not match the music anymore, but anyone who was watching had to admit she looked like she was having a wonderful time.

"I'll have a Galaxy Magic Mule," she told him when they'd reached the bar while they waited for their turn to order, clearly assuming he'd be buying her this drink. She also assumed, as she always did, that her sweet smile was charming enough to let her get away with it.

She was quite the sight and seemed to know how to get attention almost as well as Scarlett did. It made Jasper smile, a little bit of him preening that people were looking at him as well.

He ordered her drink, and a cocktail for himself, leaning lightly against the bar. "I'm Jasper," he offered, perhaps a little stunned that she really did look as good in real life as she did on screen.

When her drink was set in front of her, a glittery swirl of pinks and purples and blues, Amara lifted it to take a sip, humming at the sweet, fruity flavor with a hint of tart. "A pleasure!" she said, lifting her free hand to trail light fingertips over his upper arm. "I'm Amara," she said as though it went without saying.

"You're quite rhythmic, aren't you? Quite a joy to dance with!" she complimented him with an effortless hint of flirtation.

Jasper hadn't been expecting any kind of compliment but he could hardly complain when it came from such a lovely witch. Was he actually in with a shot here? It was too early to be sure, though it seemed like a good sign.

"Thanks. I like music." Telling her that he sang and played guitar seemed like far too much of a cheesy pick-up line. "Dancing kind of goes with that." His smile turned flirty. "Nowhere near as good as you, of course."

Who didn't like music? And that hardly was an indicator of one's capacity for rhythm, but she supposed it was kind of cute that he was playing humble. "You're just saying that because I'm just slightly prettier to look at whilst dancing," she accused lightly, continuing with the playful flirtation that seemed to be working quite well so far. And usually did, if she were being honest.

"Maybe they'll give me a go on Let's Dance soon," she suggested, as if she were dangling a carrot. She wouldn't know until late summer, likely, but she'd ensured her manager knew she was quite interested in the possibility. As fun as it might have been to be the youngest contestant on the show, she'd not been quite ready for it at seventeen. At twenty-three, she felt she'd gained a certain level of discipline necessary for such a competition.

"More than slightly. I'm the ugly duckling next to you." Maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration - Jasper knew he looked good tonight - but who didn't like being told they looked good?

He sipped his drink, ice clinking in the glass. "Now, that is something I'd like to see." Amara in one of those short, sparkly dresses would be quite the sight. "Feel like I'm getting a bit of a preview tonight."

Her laugh was a light trill, a practiced sound that she managed to make effortlessly, as her free hand flung out to smack his bicep playfully. "Oh stop it! You're quite pretty." And he was, just not her type. Didn't mean she couldn't flirt.

"Mm, drink your fill, and we'll both hope it's a preview!" She took another, longer drink from her glass, enjoying the way the little specks of glitter exploded on her tongue. It was like that Muggle candy, Fizz Wizz, her cousin had loved to sneak her when she was little.

To Jasper, that sounded as if he were going to get at least another dance with Amara, so he was counting that as a success. "I'll drink to that." He lifted his glass in a mini salute, hoping to enjoy more of that wonderful sense of rhythm.
