Rachel still wasn’t sure how into this Scor was. Between the teashop and their texts, he seemed distracted. She tried to expel the thoughts from her mind as she apparated to the alley outside the bar. Taking a step onto the street she bundled up under her sweater waiting for Scropius. Scorpius arrived five minutes before he was supposed to arrive to meet her. He saw the bundled witch just outside the shop. He lifted a hand to wave at her, catching her attention. As he walked up to her, his hands were pulling the ends of his sweater over his hands. He flashed her a brilliant smile, motioning with his head towards the doors to the teashop. “You ready to head in? I hope you haven’t been waiting long,” he said honestly, knowing it was far too cold to wait any amount of time outside.
He moved to step towards the doors, pulling them open, allowing her to go inside first. Rachel responded with a vigorous nod. “Not long at all.” It seemed the night had brought a chill to the air. The space was smaller than she thought but the layout was sufficient. Pulling off her coat she draped it over the shoulder looking at her companion for the night.
“You clean up well.” The sweater and slack was a welcome change, she thought. She’s seen Scor in his motorcycle gear and a paint splattered hoodie, but tonight he looked put together and clean cut. She’d never force him into the role, but for once she could see a glimmer of the Malfoy charm in him. Only a glimpse, but the confidence looked good on him.
She spied a couple of stools towards the end of the bar. She nudged Scor playfully before glancing to the bar. Sliding into the high stool she turned to him with a patent smile across her face. “You look beautiful as well,” he complimented her after she had complimented him. He wouldn’t admit it, but he was beaming a bit from the compliment. He hadn’t been out in far too long, it felt good to go out with someone new, someone not Albie.
He gave a nod at her nudge, heading off towards the stools that she had found. He slid onto his own stool after she had. “I was thinking that after this we might catch a movie. There’s this wonderful little place where we could catch a good movie. Popcorn and chocolates?” he asked. “Popcorn and chocolates?” She smirked. It had been a long time since she had seen a good movie but part of her wondered if he was looking for somewhere more private. Even on holidays she remembered sneaking into theaters just so she could snog her date uninterrupted. Was that his endgame?
“I like the idea.” Her smirk widened into a smile. “How about we have a few drinks first?” She didn’t know whether Scor had ever experienced craft cocktails, even V-Bar and Leaky with their staff sometimes offered more accessible items in their place.
