Dark eyes lifted to meet hers when she slid out of his lap, moisture feeling them as if the movement had been an outright rejection. He didn't want to lose Celestina. She was his wife, his person, his everything, and he wanted everything they were building together. She was the only person he'd ever been with that he'd felt this way about, and he knew with all of his heart that they were meant to be together.
