Okay! So! *cracks knuckles* All 26 episodes have been subbed by Triad, you can torrent the whole batch here. Or, if you don't mind the slightly lower quality, you can watch the whole series on crunchyroll. I think you have to make an account there to be able to watch the whole series, but even if you don't want to make one, you can at least watch the first few episodes and see if you feel compelled to download the rest. Or, alternatively, you could wait till we see each other again and i could give you a burned DVD. XD Up to you!
At any rate, Kaiji is kinda like... well, like really weird sushi: you don't know if you'll like it till you try it, and whether you love it or hate it, you have to admit it's definitely unusual. It's got a weird aesthetic and an odd narrative approach and the whole tone is just kinda different to what I'm generally used to. Because it's so odd, it's hard for me to recommend it to people with any certainty that they'll like it. You may love it, you may hate it; it may mash your kinks or it may hit your squicks. It's hard for me to guage. ^^; But I like it a lot: I think to the extent that you can take it seriously it's very psychological and compelling and well-characterized and does amazing things with tension. And beyond that, it's just funny, in an over-the-top dramatic sort of way. It takes a couple episodes to get going, but I found that by the 3rd or 4th episode I was pretty well hooked. And it features huge amounts of mindfuck and mental badtouch and threats to bodily integrity. Sort of like hardcore bondage porn without the actual sex. XD Which may sound like no fun at all, but I still find it enjoyable! (insert obvious joke here)
Anyway, enough babbling from me. I'll let you draw your own conclusions!
