Everyone he met has quirks. There were many he found that he didn’t mind and others he could do without. Though he was in no place to judge or save anyone. Being a human with no magical or whimsical properties to him at all, he was just humbled and honored to be given a chance to exist among those better than he was. Quirks and all. He’d done his fair share of trying to get other people to like him and that was a life he didn’t want if it meant being someone other than himself.
If James had hours to talk Riley’s ear off he would sit there and hang onto every single word, even if they made absolutely no sense. He was a good listener by nature, though he could be more of a talker. Maybe those attributes were what made him so personable. “Really?” He did his best to keep a lid on the excitement but it managed to bubble out regardless. Having something enchanted would be gift he would covet for the remainder of his years alive. “Thank you! Boy, that makes me excited.” A breath outward and an exhale coupled with a grin. He felt like the luckiest man alive just then.
“Right, I understand. No tamperin’ with your magic.” Like he would ever spoil a gift like that. The idea that it might create some odd, yet interesting hamster changing thing was fascinating. His mind did it’s best to wrap around such an idea and he found a bit of amusement with it. “Trans....transmogrify?”
