WHO: Jack (Guest Staring Kieran, James, Kristoph, Domino/Edi) Open for Reactions WHEN: Saturday 10/10 Late night WHERE: Zion Grounds WHAT: Back to 1920
______________
Kristoph had instructed a practically complete teardown of the carnival. Tents were pulled down, piles of trunks, beds, stages and anything that could be broken down were positioned in large piles around the carnival. Had they been a traditional traveling group, they'd have plenty of flatbed trucks and cars to transport everyone with how large they were, but thanks to magic, they had other ways. The rides and cookhouse were pretty much the only things not dismantled. All the animals were put in the cargo containers, which had been moved closer to help make sure nothing was left behind and limit the focus of the spell. Carnies piled into cars, trucks and wagons as they were used to do during the teleports, but this time it felt more important to do it right. The only ones out of their 'homes' were Jack, Kieran, Domino, Kristoph and James. The group of them stood in the center of the grounds around a metal plate that had been engraved with a sigil previously charged with energy thanks to James. Upon instruction, Domino (with the help of Edi) channeled electricity into the plate, causing the sigil to glow with white blue heat. Kristoph triggered the teleportation spell and Jack (while holding Kieran's hand) pulled on the leylines.
As before Jack felt himself pulled away from his body, tangling with not only the teleportation spell and sigil, but also Edi and Dominic's electricity. He squeezed Kieran's hand, focusing on home, focusing on the time they were from, where they belonged. It may have been all in his head, but he could feel Kieran's supporting him. Maybe he'd been using some of his angel gifts, Jack didn't know, but he felt grounded, focused. He saw time moving backward, he could feel the energies of the world become more and more familiar until-
Everything became light as if it were day for a split second. The sudden whiteness was blinding, but it cleared in no time. Everything was quiet, it was dark- pitch black. The sound of wild animals could be heard. All the men let out a breath and laughed a moment when Jack nodded. They were home. It took Kristoph a moment to verify that they were just outside of Tulsa (no one present quite knew how he did it though).
Domino helped James clean up the spell while Kieran took Jack to their wagon to rest. He wasn't unconscious, which was a good sign, but he looked a wreck. Louis and the other carnies that had camped out in their wagon during the move came out and quickly got one of the tents put up so people could have a place to lay down. While it wouldn't be until the next day that everything would be unloaded (like beds), there were plenty of bedrolls and pillows set aside. Some chose to stay in the cars and trucks (which was normal).
Most of the day was spent putting everything back up. Tents, stages, homes, everything needed back up. Once the pens were reassembled the animals were put back home and the cargo containers meant for the weres were moved back out to their normal safe distance. Everyone pulled their part to get Zion back up to it's familiar state- as they always did and by the time dinner came along, everyone had earned it. That night there were plenty of drinks and celebration over being back home. Even though the power wasn't back on yet, it didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits.
**Important Timeline Notes** First week back in 1920 - No Shows. Delia takes a vacation and isn't back until the weekend (her team does fine with food). Monday & Tuesday - Thanks to handy magics (don't question the logistics story reasons it works), the future money is made to look old and a crew works to replenish supplies. Tuesday - Power is back. The phones start working again as they did before (only within Zion and they look like notebooks to those not touching them). Thursday and Friday - Teams go into Tulsa and the surrounding towns to promote the carnival which will start its normal schedule next week. Saturday - Kristoph informs everyone that he's confirmed they will relocate at the start of November, however it won't be until Sunday evening due to the holiday. Sunday - Church is back on like normal as a new tent is acquired.
