Who: Edward, Eva and Lily What: A Night Out When: Thursday 16th January, night Where: In the city and Zion Wagons Rating: Medium - vampire stuff Status: Complete
It was a lovely evening and Eva found herself accompanied into town by her favorite people. Possibly the only two people she could say she actually, truly cared about. Granted, one of those people had began as an interesting almost-pet, but in the short time they’d been together she’d come to trust and depend on Lily, especially after her aid in getting to America. She’d proven a friend, a sister, an ally more than Eva had expected. Turned out Daywalkers weren’t as inferior as she’d thought. Of course, the other on her arm was her Edward.
The idea to venture out to town had been hers, not that she thought Edward would disagree. They’d done a bit of clothes shopping before the stores closed, Eva happily helped pick out some prettier things for Lily to wear instead of the clothes she dirtied when she worked. The vampire doted on her friend. “So, moonlit stroll on the beach? See what’s at the cinema? What should we do next?” She asked, looking past Edward, whom she was arm in arm with, to Lily at his other side.
Edward felt like he was the luckiest man on earth, a beautiful woman on each side of him, he could see the jealousy on other men's faces as the three of them walked along, Eva on one side and Lily - the other. He was nowhere near as close to Lily as he was Eva, the two Nightwalkers had a bond like no other, but she was good company and they often found topics of mutual interest.
As Eva asked the question he thought to himself that maybe the cinema and then a stroll along the beach, but this was Lily's night out and not his - he'd do whatever his beautiful ladies wanted.
Lily kept mostly to herself, automobile engines, and her Nightwalker friends. It had only been a year and she was still healing. She put on a good face as she walked alongside Edward. Lily appreciated Eva for her care and trust. And she understood how close the Nightwalkers were, deep down what she had with her sire up til last year.
“I would like the moonlit stroll unless you have other desires.” Lily spoke softly as she looked over at Eva and back to Edward.
“How would you feel about taking in a show?” She asked, reaching into Edwards jacket- not caring how it looked. She’d had one of her pets- a younger boy who worked the Helter Skelter ride and adored her- pick up some tickets. Eva passed them to Lily, “It starts in about half an hour. We can take a nice long walk after?” There was a reason she’d bought and insisted Lily wear a nicer dress that evening.
Edward kept quiet, of course he knew about the tickets, not like Eva could slip anything in or out of his pockets without knowing. He and Eva hadn't seen a show in a while and bringing Lily along was a fantastic idea, he was sure she'd enjoy it.
"I think that is a wonderful idea, a bit of entertainment and finish the night with a nice long walk before we head back to Zion." He smiled at Lily, not caring that his fangs were showing, between the three of them it didn't matter as much as it did to the outside world.
“I wouldn’t mind it,” Lily replied and watched before taking the tickets from Eva. “Okay,” she nodded and smiled to herself. The dress she wore was beautiful and much more than she was willing to spend on herself these days. Her head had been in the engines and motors.
Her fangs were showing too, never feeling she needed to hide what she was to the other two. “It has been a while since I’ve indulged in a show. Thank you.”
Eva beamed at her family as they made their way to the theatre. Once there they were set into a lobby where others mingled and drank champagne while waiting for the seating to start. The dark haired Nightwalker kissed Edwards cheek and in a beat, had vanished from his arm.
She glided through the crowd, eyes almost glistening at all the human cattle. A few times she paused, catching the attention of someone- which wasn’t unusual, she did look exotic and rich. Most the humans bored her, were seated among the masses or had too many accompanying them. Then, the perfect find. Wilbur was an older man, just starting to gray. He’d been talking to a couple when Eva approached him, his face made it clear that he was attending along and the conversation made him feel… inadequate. The ticket in his pocket informed her he had his own box- which was perfect. Eva smiled and slid up to him. “Hello darling.” She said, her accent thick. “I am so sorry I’m late. Her eyes almost sparkled at him as she spoke. He seemed confused at first, but quickly caught on to her assist and as the couple was caught off guard they did seem impressed. “Alta.” She said, using her middle name when she introduced herself to the strangers on Wilbur's behalf, quickly excusing themselves to make their way to their seat.
Wilbur thanked her and invited her to his box- a perfect gentleman. As they made their way up the stairs Eva looked out and managed to catch Edwards eye with a smile, her fingers at her hip informing him of the box number.
Eva disappearing wasn't something Edward worried about, they had done this several dozen times before and all he did was give her a nod as she went into the crowd. With Lily still beside him he turned on the charm, a greeting and closed mouth smile was all they got, was all they deserved.
Occasionally he whispered something to Lily, most of the time it was derogatory of the humans around them - Look at them, like cattle in a yard or mentioning how tasty a certain person might be.
When he saw Eva in the arm of the older gent he just gave her a curt nod, noting the number of the box. "I think we're in luck my dear Lily, looks like it will be a show and a snack tonight!"
Lily had done this sort of thing with Viktor a few times. But they were more of someone just move about a section of town and find one or two humans randomly. This sort of event had been a rarity. She kept close to Edward, smiling with her eyes shimmering at the others.
She liked how Eva worked, thankful for her. The Daywalker didn’t feel as feisty as the other woman as she listened to Edward’s whispered and smirked at it.
“Mmm, sounds wonderful. Lead on.”
Eva was used to being ‘bait’, she attracted attention, men liked her. She didn’t mind the adoration, even from the unremarkable, but it didn’t mean she had to like them back.
She smiled and sat down as Wilbur gestured to her seat, there were a few empty seats in the box and she glanced around. “Are there others joining us?” She asked. He just shook his head and informed her he was attending alone. Eva placed her hand on his knee and appeared to show empathy.
Eva had made sure the door to his box was left unlocked and as the lights lowered she slide up alongside him, their chairs close together. “I hope you don’t mind.” She said softly, her hand holding his as her head rested on his shoulder. He shook his head slightly. Ears perked up as she heard the door open, turning her head she saw the familiar faces of Edward and Lily. She gestured to the door, making sure Edward saw the lock before waving Lily over to the seat on Wilburs other side. “I hope you don’t mind. I asked my friend to join us.” She placed her lips upon his neck, kissing him sensually as he looked to the seat next to him.
Edward had led Lily in the direction of the box seats, knowing not to be too hasty and give Eva plenty of time to use her charm on the stranger. It was only minutes later that they slipped into the box, Edward saw Eva's gesture and silently locked the door before slipping into the shadows at the back of the box.
He watched as Eva called Lily over and gave a little smirk, this old sod thought that it was his lucky day but really it was far from it. He'd make a move only when instructed by Eva.
As she stepped into the box, Lily looked over at Edward for a moment before turning to look at Eva and follow her motioning to sit in the empty chair on the other side of Wilbur. Lily moved slowly as she sat down, giving the human a little of a show as she edged close and smiled.
This game was quite fun especially when it seemed to be all in good fun.
Good fun for her… for them, but poor Wilbur was nothing more than a snack. The human seemed a bit out of his element, awkwardly introducing himself to Lily as Eva proved a bit distracting. She hushed his protests as her lips parted, he couldn’t see what was about to happen.
That brief prick was followed quickly by a rush of endorphins, masking the bite. Eva hummed as warm blood flowed into his mouth. Her hand reached out to Edward, beckoning him over to try a taste.
Edward moved when Eva beckoned him, forever drawn to her like a moth to the flame. His hand curled over her shoulder as he leaned down to drink in some of the blood from this old man. He knew the three of them could drain him dry but he just had a taste, licking his lips as he grinned at Eva before smiling over at Lily.
Lily caught Wilbur’s eyes and she didn’t have to do much to earn his trust. As she watched Eva work her magic, she tilted her head as she cradled the back of the human’s head in one hand.
She let the Nightwalkers drink first, smiling at Edward as he took that taste. Leaning over Wilbur, Lily partook of a taste before pulling back enough to look over at Eva.
“So modest.” She said as. She licked her lips, the slow trickle of blood from the neck wound wetting the man’s clothing. Wilbur looked to the two of them a bit confused. As he started to speak, before he noticed Edward, Eva shushed him and took his lips in for a kiss. The copper of his own blood touching his tongue, getting an odd reaction from him.
To keep him subdued, Eva beckoned for Edward to have another bite. There was little the Nightwalker bite couldn’t make a human ignore for a minute or two. “Lily, you don’t have to be so timid. Wilbur is here for your pleasure.” She said, taking up his wrist. “Aren’t you?” The human nodded, a bit euphoric and clearly not sure what was actually happening. Eva slipped a leg over his, letting it collide with his crotch. She had no interest with what he had in his pants, but humans were quite easy to manipulate and thinking that she was, could get almost anything out of him. She held his wrist out for Lily. “Wilbur feels good, he wants you to feel good too. Nice and full.”
Edward was standing right behind Wilbur, so it would’ve taken a real good turn of the head to see him there, he knew the human blindspots too well. Taking a step forward again he bit down just below the mark that Eva had made, the combination of his bite and her leg moving over the human’s definitely distracted Wilbur and allowed them to continue without drawing any unwanted attention.
A soft hum was made as he let the blood flow into his mouth, there was a somewhat different taste to it, maybe it was the man’s diet or just his age. He personally preferred younger blood, it was a bit sweeter but if something like this came along he couldn’t refuse it.
Feeding out of necessity was what Lily engaged in for the most part since she lost her sire. These outings were slowly pulling her out of the fuge she had felt in the last year. She nodded as her hand left Wilbur’s head and took the offered wrist.
She nodded and smiled to expose her fangs. “And it will feel good.” Lily then brought the human’s wrist to her lips and soon sank her teeth into the thin flesh. She drank with restraint. Yes, Wilbur was a bit more of an aged taste but Lily took what she was given.
Maybe feeding from James had changed her taste, she found no difference in the blood. “Feels good, doesn’t it Wilbur?” She asked, the man nodded, his eyes not moving from the Spanish brunette.
Eva reaches out and brushed her hand over Lily’s hair lovingly. “Like a fine wine, isn’t he?” She laughed lightly.
Her eyes turned to Edward. Eva smoked softly at him, moving in her chair to give him room. “Eddie.” She said with a chuckle. “Sit, the show will be starting soon.”
“Who-“ Wilbur started to question, but Eva places a finger on his lips.
“Don’t worry about him mi comida. He’s just a friend. Someone to make sure we’re not disturbed.” Her leg pressed upon him, drawing out a moan as she leaned back and stole a kiss from her sire, whispering. “Mi amor.”
“Yes my dear.” Edward said softly, walking around from where he was standing behind Wilbur, lifting Eva up slightly so he could slide into the chair underneath her. “I’m just their chaperone.” He lowered her gently back down onto his lap, a hand remaining on her hip as he accepted the kiss.
He would like to see at least some of the show they had come to see, even though he knew that they would have to slip out before the end and someone would come and find Wilbur in such a condition.
A smirk tugged at Lily’s lips as she drank off Wilbur a little more. Licking the stray droplets, she reached over to lightly stroke Eva’s arm with her free hand. “A common vintage.” She could feel the human’s pulse under her fingertips as she continued to hold his wrist. Lily could practically smell his age and what he had put in his body from even years ago.
Lifting her eyes, she watched Eva and Edward. They were an amazing duo - so in tune. And yes, she wanted to see a bit of the show too.
Wilbur’s eyes got a bit heavy and Eva sighed, running her finger over her bottom lip to clean off any stray blood. Moving her leg, she gave a little heft at the man’s shoulder and pushed him off the chair. He crumpled to the ground and she pushed him a little with her feet as if moving garbage away.
Eva held an arm out, beckoning Lily closer to the couple as the lights started to lower and the curtain opened.
Whether Wilbur was dead or not, Edward didn’t really care. Although he didn’t drink all that much he could still feel the warmth spreading through him that happened each time that he had fresh blood, a gentle little buzz like some sort of drug.
Edward’s arms looped around Eva’s waist, giving her a gentle little squeeze and pressing a kiss to her shoulder. “Come Lily, make yourself comfortable.”
She watched Wilbur for a moment as he went to the floor before turning her attention to her companions. Her hand clasped Eva’s as she motioned to sit in the now vacant chair beside Eva and Edward. Her feet lightly brushed over before she rested them upon the human’s side.
Lily felt satiated and she smiled as she edged up against Edward and Eva and rested her head on Eva’s shoulder. “Lovely choice, Eva.” she whispered.
After the Show
It was the dead of night, no one was around. The show had let out and the triple had made their way to the beach. Eva loved the beach, she’d not seen it until she’d met Edward and when she had, there hadn’t been much time to enjoy it. Their first summer with Zion they landed in Florida and she got to enjoy it for the first time. It was love at first sight.
A few feet ahead of Edward and Lily, Eva danced along the shore. Her shoes hung from her fingers as she twirled, toe sinking into the sand. “The night is so bello.” She said as she reached up and pulled the pins from her hair, letting it hang dark and loose around her shoulders.
Although Edward’s family did spend some time by the seaside back in England when he was younger and still human the beaches were nothing like here in the US, these beaches actually had nice soft sand instead of pebbles which were much easier on the soles of bare feet.
When they had arrived at the beach he rolled the legs of his pants up to about mid calf as he took his shoes off, those were carried in a hand much like Eva did. He smiled as he walked along beside Lily and Eva danced in front of them, the moonlight made her even more beautiful and he couldn’t help but smile at her youthful glee. “I am glad you are enjoying it my dear, it has been a good night out indeed.”
Lily always liked the beach. Her last pleasant memories with her sire were of basking in the refreshing sea air as they reclined in chairs at the small house in the south of France. It was so much more alive than the eclectic hustle and bustle of Paris. She wrinkled her nose as she kept a smile on her face and carried her shoes in her hand as well.
She liked the simpler experiences in life as of late - no complications or loud cacophonies. “Thank you for this night.” Lily spoke as she let her hair down.
Eva paused and looked back to Lily. “Of course mi amor.” She said, allowing the other two to catch up so she could take the other woman’s hand. “You should come out with us more.” She pulled Lily with her, letting Edward take up the rear. Her arm slipped around Lily’s affectionately. “I know you can be out more during the day, but we miss you.” Eva leaned in and nuzzled the other woman slightly. “Stay over more, play with us. We adore you.” She said, placing a kiss on her cheek.
Slowing his pace behind them just a bit, Edward moved so that his feet were ankle deep each time a wave came in, the coldness of the water or the crisp air around them of course didn’t bother him, one of the advantages of being undead he supposed. While he and Eva did go out a lot together, be it hunting or just to get out of Zion for a few hours Eva was right, they did miss the companionship of the Daywalker and Edward could see how much livier Eva was with Lily around.
He didn’t say anything, instead he tuned out to let the ladies talk about whatever it was that they wanted to talk about, he loved Eva’s company and she loved his, but he knew women just sometimes preferred the company of their own sex.
Lily tilted her head to one side as Eva took her hand and pulled her with her. That nuzzle made her sigh. “It isn’t my ability to be out more during the day,” she whispered as she reached up to caress the other woman’s face. “I would not want to interrupt any plans the two of you may have.” She understood the bond, the relationship the two of them had. Lily looked back at Edward for a moment before turning her attention back to Eva.
Eva stopped and turned Lily to face her. “Oh my flor,” She cupped Lily’s face, looking over to Edward briefly, already knowing he agreed with her. “Our plans are nothing in place of you.” It was strange, the other vampire was older, yet often Eva felt her and Edward had adopted her. It hadn’t been that long, but time didn’t matter when you lived forever, one day or one million- a connection was a connection. Maybe it was that little bit of humanity still lingering, but Eva fell for people fast. If she liked you, she knew the moment she saw you. Lily had been no different.
Her thumb caressed Lily’s cheek as she gazed upon the woman’s beautiful face. “You are family. And that’s a word I don’t throw around lightly.” She leaned in and gently kissed the other woman before pulling her into a hug. “You, Eddie… I would give all for you. Mi familia.”
While he didn’t hear the whole of the conversation between the two women he did hear Lily mention that she didn’t want to interrupt him and Eva, but before he was able to say anything Eva said what he was thinking, although they’d never have that sire/offspring bond that he and Eva shared, Lily was still family and that was a bond unlike that of vampire and pet. Edward still stood back, Eva always had a better way with words than he did.
After so many years as a vampire, Lily would be thought of independent and efficient. But she had been at her sire’s side the entire time. It had been a love affair even before she noticed Viktor. Lily had been in survival mode when she met Edward and Eva. She was following their lead, helping them as they helped her escape whoever was still after them.
She rested her hands on Eva’s hips with her shoes lightly resting against the other woman as she looked into her eyes. Lily still mourned deep down for who she lost . But Eva’s touch centered her. As the other woman’s lips touched hers, she closed her eyes and smiled. “Merci,” Lily curled her arms around Eva as she was pulled into the hug. “You two are my everything...now.”
Eva waved Edward over subtly so Lily wouldn’t see, letting him know it was okay to join them.
Seeing the hand gesture from Eva he walked over to where the two women were standing embracing each other, knowing that it was alright now and that he wasn’t interrupting anything between them. That was one thing that he had learned early, Eva did not like getting interrupted - especially when she was with her pets, and Edward knew she’d seek him out when she was good and ready and not a moment before.
“Is everything alright?” He asked, trying his best not to bump Lily too much with his shoes that were still in his hand as he put an arm over both Lily and Eva’s shoulders in a sidewards kind of hug.
“Yes,” Lily replied in a raspy whisper. Her eyes didn’t leave Eva’s face as they stood there embracing and with Edward hugging them. She felt safe and at ease with them.
Later
Back at home in Zion, with the day on the horizon, Eva looked back on their evening. After some more frolicing in the ocean, ankle deep of course, they all climbed into the truck to return home. Edward drove and Eva laughed with Lily as they recounted the night. Once home, Eva left a brief note with James, asking him to kindly check up on their meal to make sure there was nothing that needed cleaned up (aka, nothing that would get them removed from Zion). Then they all retired to their wagon. Well, Lily was going to retire to her own, but Eva was having none of it.
Closing the door, she moved into the wagon and took Lily’s hand. “Please stay? You were up all night with us… you will likely sleep the day away… stay? Please?” She pouted, looking to Edward to back her up.
It had definitely been a pleasant night, they really needed to take Lily out more when Zion was near cities, he could see the smiles on both Lily and Eva's faces, even when they got back to Zion and he returned the car where it belonged.
"There is plenty of room Lily, don't be afraid that you're interrupting us, after a big night we'll fall asleep pretty quickly. Please stay." Edward was already starting to undress, well really it was just his coat, vest, shoes and tie so far.
It had been a long while since Lily stayed up the whole night. But she had enjoyed it. Talking about it with Eva had her mind focused on them and how beautiful the three of them were on the beach.
Lily stopped at the door of Edward and Eva’s wagon, intent on leaving to go to her own. She had already sent word to that she was going to take the day off. “I….,” she began as she looked from Eva, to Edward, and back to Eva. “...well, if you insist.” Lily smiled. She really would love to not sleep alone.
“Bien.” Eva said, moving to her bureau. She pulled out a nightgown for herself and one for Lily. It was probably a bit more risque than the other woman was used to wearing- but Eva just had that particular type of style. She helped Lily undress before doffing her own dress. Once the three of them were in their sleep attire, Eva moved to sit on the edge of the bed and patted it for her two favorite people to join her. “You are welcome any time.”
"A vampire's life can be lonely, we are always here for you Lily." Although Edward barely knew his sire and didn't get the training or support from the man he understood how Lily was feeling after the loss of her own sire, an emptiness that just couldn't be put into words.
Getting one of the hair brushes he climbed onto the bed, shifting to sit behind Eva to brush out any tangles that occurred during their walk along the beach. He also knew that Eva enjoyed the attention. "Make yourself comfortable Lily, I'll get to yours in a few minutes." He smiled a warm and caring smile, one that was rarely seen except by Eva.
Thankful, Lily helped Eva in kind and put on the offered nightgown. It felt good to get out of that dress and let her skin breathe. She turned as face Edward as he spoke. “I am glad we ran into each other a little over a year ago.” The Daywalker reiterated as she walked over to the bed and sat beside Eva.
Eva sighed contently, she always enjoyed being doted on herself, especially by Edward. It made her feel that warmth inside she once felt when she was human. Just a little girl, mother combing her long hair. “I am as well. You came at just a moment we needed you. I was just pleased we could help you flee those horrible humans who hunt is as well.” She caressed Lily’s leg. “We just survived before you came. But since we’ve found you… we’ve been able to live.” It may have sounded sappy, but Lily needed to hear it.
Eva had been bad family in letting Lily think they didn’t want her around or that she was in the way. It was rare she spoke about how she felt about someone without trying to get something out of them for herself. Not that she lied to her pets, but often the truth was phrased in ways that made her pets happy. Because when she made them happy they loved her and adored her. Edward had joked once that if she had enough pets that adored her the way James and others did, she’d ascend into godhood or something like it. Honestly, Eva would be okay with that.
It was just a vampire thing to keep emotions and feelings close to the chest and bottled up inside, although Edward only ever spoke the truth with Eva, it would take a bit more time before he'd open up to Lily as much as he had with the brunette Spaniard.
He took his time with Eva's hair, making sure that the windswept knots were completely removed and it was soft and silky again. Shifting her nightgown a bit he pressed a kiss to Eva's shoulder before behind Lily and starting the same treatment in silence.
Lily hadn’t told Eva and Edward everything about herself, her sire, and all that brought her to their company. The wounds were still fresh and working through each day was a better focus for her. But she was gracious to be with them. Perhaps this family could last. Smiling, she placed her hand over Eva’s.
Slowly closing her eyes, she enjoyed how it felt for Edward to brush out her hair. Lily remembered the last time her sire brushed her hair. It had always calmed her.
Once Edward was done, she reached up and brushed her fingers through his hair, perfect as always. “Thank you.” She said, scooting farther up the bed a little. The curtains on the windows were secured as always and she knew Edward would pull the curtain at the door when he returned the brush. So, as she waited for him to return to the bed she gently tugged Lily’s arm to join her as she spread the pillows out for them. They didn’t get cold so there was no real need for blankets, especially when they just could wrap themselves up in each other.
“Lay with me.” She told Lily as she held her arms out.
It was a nightly routine, even with the addition of Lily things hadn't changed, Eva knew him too well. Sure enough once he had finished both Lily and Eva's hair he returned the brush to its place and made sure their curtains were pulled across, both at the door and the small windows at that end of the wagon, blocking out any areas where sunlight might try to come through.
When everything was done to his satisfaction Edward returned to the bed, scooting onto the mattress behind Eva as he put an arm around her waist.
“Edward, thank you,” Lily whispered as he finished brushing her hair. Then she turned her attention back to Eva at her touch. With a nod, the Daywalker moved more onto the bed and then into Eva’s arms. It brought her peace to be close to both Eva and Edward. Sleeping alone often brought her sadness. But she had healed a little since joining them. And she was hopeful she would heal more as time passed. Lily gently placed her hands on Eva’s shoulders and sighed.
Her arms slipped around Lily’s waist as she held her close. A smile came to her face as Edward curled up behind her. Nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by the people she loved. Turning her head she met Edwards lips for a gentle but passionate kiss before she applied a similar one to Lily.
Physical interactions had changed for Eva once she was turned. Sure, sex was still enjoyable, but it wasn’t something she craved as she might have if she were still alive. The way the undead body changed, not responding the same way to visual or physical stimuli unless recently fed made sex something fun, but not as important. A kiss, however. With lips always full and soft- unless they were starving, a caressing touch on the face, the weight of someone holding you. These small sensations were magnified by those vampire senses. Humans sought out interaction that would bring them to climax, but vampires didn’t really work that way. Sure, they could orgasm- dry muscle contractions, but that couldn’t compare to the almost transcendent feeling of touch by someone who truly cared for you, who adored you (even better when you adored and cared for them back).
She felt like she had it all. “I love you both. So very much.” Eva whispered as she rested her lips atop Lily’s hair. It was a moment of pure vulnerability for the vampire.
Edward gave Lily a quick kiss as well, not as passionate as Eva's but more than just a quick peck on the lips.
Sex had changed for him as well, although now he was more about the intimacy rather than just the physical act but he did enjoy it when he and Eva just gave in to the lust, especially after a hunt. He never pressured her into doing anything she didn't want to do and more often than not she was the one to initiate it, Edward didn't mind her taking control at all.
"Good morning my beautiful ladies. May we all sleep well."
Lily leaned into each kiss no matter how long or brief. She needed the physical contact and she was thankful for each sensation.
Her life was still being remade so she did not commit to any long term act of intimacy or repeated relations with anyone. She had not grown attached to a soul as she worked to find smooth waters for her heart. But she did find this calm with Eva and Edward. They understood and were patient. They were safe.
Eva held Lily against her bosom as she brushed her fingers tenderly through her hair. As the sun came up behind the blackout curtains, Eva felt sleep find her. Sweet dreams, being surrounded by her sweet loves.
