Who: Edward and Eva What: Early Morning Musings When: Wednesday January 8, night Where: Wagon Area - Zion Rating: Low Status: Complete
Edward sat on the steps of the wagon that he shared with Eva, it was a nice night and with most of the lights out now that the crowds had gone the stars were shining brightly in the sky above, a sight that was beautiful and mysterious all the same and one that Edward somewhat enjoyed.
It was decades now since he had said goodbye to daylight, the sun blazing as it weaved itself across the sky each and every day. In the beginning he missed it, missed the sight of the trees bathed in light and shadow, the warmth that it provided. But as time progressed he grew to love the darkness, to learn how to use it to his own advantage and move amongst the shadows as if they were one, a trick which was very useful when it came to hunting even though now they were limited. He and Eva weren’t supposed to kill anyone, that was one of the provisos of them joining Zion, although they still snuck out and did it, making it look as if it was an accident or some sort of random animal attack and not the work of vampires.
Now he had Eva to share it with, people seemed more at ease when they saw a couple walking together rather than a man alone. And when they were in cities where stores stayed open later (and they were not working) the two of them could go shopping or enjoy a show of some sort. A rare occurrence but more than enjoyable when they got the chance, and he knew Eva loved it when he spoiled her with new dresses or the occasional piece of jewellery.
She glided across the back end. Only a thin robe covered her perfect shape- very inappropriate. Eva’s hair was about her shoulders in a tussled mess. Fingers reached up and crunched her locks with a soft smile as she approached her home. Edward was in a bit of a mood it seemed.
Gracefully, she came up next to him, arms draping over either shoulder as she nuzzled the back of his neck. “Eddie.” She whispered softly, moving one arm down so her hand could rest on his chest. “Have you been here all evening?”
What Eva was wearing as definitely inappropriate but at this hour of the evening barely anyone was around and he was sure that anyone who saw her would’ve had minded, Edward sure didn’t when he saw her walking towards him. A smile spread across his lips, licking at them although it didn’t do anything, he didn’t have saliva after all.
He sat in silence as Eva moved up the stairs, shifting a bit to give her more room to sit beside him. “Only since we finished up.” Edward leaned his head back against Eva. “I know it’s the same sky, but the stars aren’t as bright as they were in Las Cruces or when we were on the boat out from England. They’re almost as beautiful as you are.”
“We’re farther west. The sky is different.” She said with a small, light laugh. They were also more in town than they usually were. “And it’s been hours.” A few at least, sunrise was still a bit away, but not too far. “You shouldn’t be sitting alone… brooding.” She said, brushing her hand over his hair.
He knew the reasons why the stars weren’t so bright here, it was just one of those things that got his attention, wondering what else was out there far away from this tiny planet. “I know that my dear.” His eyes closed for a moment. “I’m not... brooding, just thinking.” Turning his head to the side he reached back and curled Eva’s hair behind an ear. “Did you have fun tonight?” Eva usually did when it came to her ‘pets’, he really needed to find his own.
“Funny how they look so similar.” She teased him with a tap of her finger on his nose.
Eva smiled at his caring gesture and shrugged one shoulder slightly as she brought a leg across the other and brushed her foot against his leg- not seeming to be aware of how opened it made her robe- or if she was, she didn’t make it obvious she noticed. “It was quite eventful. I wanted to make sure he was eating… I know the holidays can be hard… gave him some moments with his wife… then he ‘took’ me to the Spanish countryside… well, it was close but not quite perfect yet. Then I gave him what he needed- while he did the same for me.” Her tongue ran over her lips, she could still taste his warm blood.
Edward knew about Blackstone’s abilities, the amazing illusions that he could create had him believing things he never thought was possible. He turned a bit to get a better look at Eva. “I am glad that he’s going alright… he’s a nice man one you get past the eccentricity.” And no, Edward was definitely not jealous of James or any of Eva’s other pets, they provided her with entertainment and a snack. A tiny smile at the foot against his leg, a hand moved down to gently rest on her calf muscle “Sounds like you enjoyed yourself, and feeling lovely and warm.” He could tell she had fed, even if it was just a bit, her skin was warmer than usual.
“His illusions feel so real sometimes.” She admitted, giving Edward a small kiss. “And he gets so happy when he gets to share it.” Eva smiled widely as if an owner talking about a happy puppy doing a trick. Her lips saddened slightly as she continued. “He’s so sad most of the time. I can’t imagine losing your soulmate.” Her fingers entwined with his. Their relationship was strange- to say the least- but Eva often felt as if they were meant to be. Not in some corny romance way, but in a deeper, soul-linking way. “I just want him to be happy. He’s so beautiful when he’s happy.”
Sometimes illusions were better than reality, although he had seen a few of the minor illusions that Blackstone had created he still wondered what it would be like to see something as amazing as the Spanish countryside. “You bring him happiness.” He stated, although who wouldn’t be happy if they had someone as beautiful as Eva keeping them company. He brought her hand up to his lips, kissing the back of it, only now just noticing her state of dress, or undress as it were. But he still tried to keep his eyes on her face, not the rest of her beautiful body. “”He’ll find happiness again, I’m sure of it.”
“I know. He finds it in me.” Eva told him with a matter of fact tone. Of course James would find happiness in her. He adored her. Eva wouldn’t prevent him from making other friends and even lovers, but if any of her pets stopped adoring her for someone else… well, it’s a good thing none of them had yet.
She brushed her hand over his hair again, moving it behind his shoulder to give her a place to rest her head. “You need some pets too. I hate thinking of you being all alone when I’m off playing and training mine. You deserve to be adored and admired too. Find a special human… one above the others to care for.”
He knew that he had to find some kind of company, he wouldn’t go as far as to say ‘friends’ because vampires don’t have those, but Eva was right, he needed someone, or a few someones to keep him entertained while she was off having fun.
“I will find someone. Eventually. They’re just all so… boring.” Edward replied, which was the truth in his eyes, humans and their boring little human lives. As Eva moved to rest her head on his shoulder an arm came up, slipping around her waist to hold her against his side, fingers brushing against the softness of the sheer fabric that covered her side. “Unlike you my love, you never bore me.”
“Most are- especially the aburrida ones. But some are special- like James. And they are quite capable of amazing things. And quite handy for entertainment- and snacks.” Eva chuckled. “And when they only want to please you…” she sighed happily. “It’s a wonderful thing.”
Eva gasped, feigning offense. “You think I could ever bore anyone?”
He would find someone eventually, he just had to find the right one - a person who didn’t bore him like most people in Zion did, Eva had beauty and allure on her side, most others shied away from Edward when they saw him, reputation preceding him.
“You could never bore anyone.” A kiss to her cheek. “If anyone finds you boring we should drain them dry.” He wouldn’t admit that there was more than one of Eva’s ‘clients’ that he had wanted to do that to, although they paid well those men were only interested in their own satisfaction. “Is this the same robe you wore at Christmas?” He asked, it was indecent but showed her body off so well.
“Yes, though I supposed it looked darker with the black bodice.” She’d not kept it on long, the toy he’d gotten him hadn’t kept much on either. That night she wore nothing underneath. More accurately, no longer wore anything underneath having absently left her nightgown at the professors.
Her fingers moved a bit of the robe casually as if to cover herself or make it more comfortable, but it only showed off more of her leg. Her natural tanned skin paled and the cold evening not affecting her mixed with her superiority, meant she didn’t care if the entire world saw her. She was comfortable. She was beautiful, she knew it. Eva fully believed she deserved to be desired, worshiped.
“You know, you could always come play with one of my pets with me.” She offered. “I don’t mind sharing- with you.”
Christmas night was definitely one that he would remember for the rest of his days, Eva had found him a ‘toy’ - a rather plain woman and the three of them had spent a very nice night together, although he was sure that he and Eva had enjoyed themselves much more than their toy had. He had lost count of the number of times they had done it that night, a few quick mouthfuls and he was ready to go again.
“You look beautiful in it.” Although it was dark and the common human might have problems seeing Eva’s nudity it was as clear as day to Edward. “Bodice or no bodice.” His free hand moved to caress the now exposed skin of Eva’s leg, knowing she’d tell him to stop if it went too high.
“How about later in the week? Find one of them who you don’t think would mind.” But Edward knew that she could easily persuade that toy to accept his presence there without a problem. “I’ll be nice, I promise.”
She smiled and clapped her hands a little. “I think we can do that.” Eva loved to show off Edward, and her pets. Like a proud mama. Especially those who were well trained. “I think I have the perfect one.” She smiled softly to herself. “And I’ll bring her here, to you too.” Not all her pets were meant for physical pleasure. And she did love calling upon them when. She pleased. “We should also take Lily out… maybe visit the beach one night. I think that might be enjoyable.” Sure, Lily was older than both of them and something of a blood cousin. Vampire, but daywalkers were too close to humans, not pure vampire- or so she thought. But she was an ally and Eva had grown to care for her. Not as a pet, not in the same way as humans. But not quite as an equal. Somewhere in between.
Still, despite being older, she did feel a bit of a protective drive over Lily, very likely because she was alone, in trouble and a bit lost when they’d met. She’d had Edward and the two of them created something of a safe harbor for the daywalker. Like an adopted daughter.
Edward was a bit intrigued as to which of Eva’s pets she’d bring over, not many people got to see inside of their wagon so he knew that this pet was obviously one that Eva trusted very much, or at least had quite a level of control over. “I would like that. And no nibbling, I promise.” Unless he got permission to do it, but then again he wouldn’t want to ruin the relationship she had with any of her pets, he wouldn’t take what was hers.
“A trip to the beach with Lily does sound like a very nice outing, we could go for a swim in the ocean.” The fact that it was winter and the water would be very cold wouldn’t bother any of them, they were all cold at the best of times. Other than Eva, Lily was the only other in Zion that he felt any kind of connection with, although their opposite they were still all vampires and that bond was stronger than anything.
His hand was still on her leg, moving slowly in a comforting manner more than anything, he loved any form of contact with her, it grounded him. “Do you wish to go inside my dear, or shall we sit out here a bit longer?”
A yawn was stifled at the mention of going inside. She covered her mouth. “Oh, it is getting late. We should get in probably.” Eva pressed against him a little. “Maybe you can just hold me?” She asked softly. It was a show of true vulnerability no one else saw. Any other time she appeared vulnerable was typically an act.
They still had a few hours before the sun would come up, there was no real rush. “You know I cannot say no to you.” Shifting a bit he brought his other arm around, both hands on Eva’s waist as he lifted her over so she was sitting sideways on his lap. “Let’s sit here a little longer, enjoy the calm and quiet.”
She rested her head on his, eyes closed softly. “Oh Eddie. Te quiero.”
