The Rules
1. No God-Modding. This game has a God, and a Lucifer, and what they agree OOC is the law. Further elaboration on this rule: If your character has godlike superpowers, is impervious to harm, and controls the actions of other characters before their players have a say, then you're playing God and are therefore unwelcome.
2. Anything Goes. This game will contain NC-17 content, therefore, we ask that all applicants be above 18 years old. For the sake of squeamish players, all threads or graphic journal entries should be put under appropriate cuts. That way, those who would like to play these situations may without harassment, and those who take offense at such situations may avoid them at their own discretion.
3. Let's talk about sex, relationships, marriage, and pregnancy. In this game, all four are possible. However, we ask that they are used realistically and respectfully. Sex is good, and all kinds are allowed here. We welcome slash, yuuri, yaoi, and don't mind squicks. Relationships should not develop overnight, even if muns agree that the characters will end up together. Marriages take time and work, and are a commitment. Pregnancies, even MORE so. M!preg is possible, since this game involves supernatural themes, but all pregnancies, male or female, will have a nine month duration. We do ask that certain subject matter is used respectfully and sparingly; many people are uncomfortable with rape, for instance, so it is highly encouraged that players limit their exploitation of this sensitive subject matter.
4. Let' talk about death, killing, and suicide. It's a high-stakes game, which means that it is possible to die here. However, that will not transpire unless a player sincerely wants it to happen to their character. Accidents and illness are the default methods for a simple "death." For a murder to take place, both characters involved must agree and individually email the moderators to show us that they bear each other no ill will and think that it would help the plot. Suicides are very sad, and possible, but we hope that players with characters who make this decision do so only under the most dire circumstances.
5. Let's talk about who is allowed to play. This game is a panfandom, which means that we accept any character from any fandom. We even accept very good original characters! You have the option of choosing whether or not to use a PB (a live-action representation of your character), or not. It's entirely up to you. The only characters we ask that you refrain from applying for are characters who are gods, or one of the horsemen of the Apocalypse. Those will likely be appointed at a certain point in the game.
6. Let's talk about canon demons and angels and their place in this game. Yes, you may play characters that were demons or angels in their respective canons. However, their alignments in the Heaven VS Hell theme are predetermined. Angels, as a rule, belong to Heaven's army. Demons belong to Hell's. There are loopholes, however; it is possible for a pure-hearted demon to prove himself to God and achieve angel status, and for angels to fall from grace. If you would like a less difficult challenge, your character my start out as a human, even if they were not in canon.
7. Let's talk about powers. There are some very powerful characters up for grabs in a panfandom RP. Many of them are considered "cheap", like Alessa Gillespie from the Silent Hill series, since they require little to no skill to play if allowed to use most of their canon abilities. Therefore, should you choose to play a character with powers of any kind, they start with a human's limitations, regardless of their species in canon (even angels and demons). For example, if you want to play the character Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho, he will not begin the game with his full array of abilities and powers, even if you take him out of a later point in canon where he possesses them. He can like fire and be a bit of a pyromaniac, but he can't terrorize other characters with the Dragon of the Darkness Flame. Characters may regain their powers gradually over the course of the game.
8. Let's talk about staying power. If you've ever been in a game like this before, you know that people come and go during the course of it. New players and characters are added and dropped, and it becomes pretty clear pretty quickly who is in it for the long-term. Those are the types of players we want! So, stick with the game, post regularly, and contribute to the plot, and the mods will love you.
9. On that note, let's talk about serial appers/droppers. You've seen these, too, if you've been in a game like this before. Please do not app characters on a whim and then drop them immediately. Before apping a character, it is recommended that you have not only a good grasp of that character's personality and motives, but the motivation to play that character as a cherished pup rather than an old sock puppet. If you absolutely MUST stop playing a character, the limit for characters you may "drop" over the course of the game is three. This does not include death! A character who dies and a character who simply vanishes because the mun did not feel like playing him anymore are entirely different things; we encourage you to let your character's life gain closure before ripping them out of a game you made them a part of to begin with.
10. Let's talk about doubles and challenges. So, someone else has the character you want? Please just suck it up and either find another game or another character. This game operates on a first-come, first-serve basis.
11. Let's talk about DRAMA. Very important, this. IC, it is ENCOURAGED! You can get away with certain things in roleplay that you can't in real life. You can be emo, there can be angst, and we won't tell you not to overdo it (even if there is eye-rolling amongst the characters). However, please remember that you are separate from your characters. Just because your character is mad at another character does not mean you have to be cold or mean to the mun. Likewise, if you're mad at the mun because you had an argument OOC, your character has no right to take it out on that mun's character. The mods are highly aware of how OOC DRAMA can ruin an otherwise wonderful game, so we ask that you please take any and all complaints and concerns to us. If issues cannot be resolved, players will be asked to leave.
12. Let's talk about minimum activity. Please make sure that you post IC at least once a week to let us know that you're still kicking. We hope that you'll post more often than that, and there is no maximum for how many times your character can post per week.
13. Let's talk about SPAMMING! Please don't do this. >< While you might be really, really proud of that new AMV you made or that goofy hypothetical "cast list" you put together, the OOC community should be reserved for introductions, plotting, suggestions, and hiatus notices. So, please watch what you put here.
14. Let's talk about thread and character limits. The magic number is four. Four is the number of active threads you are allowed to be in at one time, four is the number of characters a player is allowed to take on at once.
