Thread: Braylen & Finn
Who: Braylen King and Finn Farraday.
When: October 15th. Evening.
Where: Finn's room.
What: Hanging out. And things.

Braylen had spent the afternoon training with the Junior Team, working through an obstacle course that had been set out. It had been tiring, and also a lot of fun. But he was feeling rejuvinated, after a late afternoon snack, and then a long shower which had perked him right up and had him raring to go again.

His hair was a wild and semi-dry mass, his eyes were freshly lined, and he had pulled on a pair of tight frayed jeans and a fitted black t-shirt before wandering himself down the hall to Finn's room. He lounged himself against the doorframe, one forearm pressed against it, and knocked with his other hand.

Braylen knocked the same time that Finn was opening the door. He looked a surprised to see him there which meant he probably hadn't known Braylen was there when he'd tugged it open. "Hey." Still, he didn't smile. In fact he looked like he was on his way out, dressed in his beat up leather coat with his car keys in his hand. He looked Braylen over up and down and then took a step back as if to let him. "I guess you can come along. Do you have a jacket?"

Braylen looked surprised as well, when the door opened just as he finished knocking. "Hey," he said and then grinned when he realized that Funn was on his way out somewhere. He tilted his head to the side. "Yeah okay, I'll come," he agreed, even though he didn't know where they would be going. That didn't matter, he was game for most anything.

"Where're we goin'? An is everythin' okay?"

	"Yeah, kinda." He smiled tightly to show him it wasn't too problematic and tipped his head down the hallway. "My mother in law is in the hospital, no one's there to watch Sloane, I have to go down there." Not waiting for an answer, Finn started down the hallway, shutting his door but not locking it. 	"I don't know, she fell or something." He glanced side long at Braylen when he touched him and reached out to take his hand. "We'll work it out later. I'd like it if you were there." 	Finn got into the driver's seat, buckling up. He waited for Braylen before starting it up and pulling away from base. "It sounded bad on the phone, I'm not sure what to do or what I'm going to do. 	Braylen reached over and patted Finn's thigh. "I know," he said with an understanding nod of his head. "We can do that if we have to. I'm sure Mr. Smith would be okay with it. 	The hospital smelled the way hospitals always did, and Braylen glanced around as they entered, making their way to the elevator. There were already people waiting, with the buttons lit up, so he stopped there, until the doors slid open and they could get in. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Finn chewed on the inside of his lip in a nervous sort of way as they got into the elevator and ascended to the third floor. Keeping one free hand in Braylen's, he waited until the doors opened again. They weren't the only ones who got out on that floor though but once it was their turn, Finn let go of Braylen's hand and moved forward to intercept a girl who was waiting not a short distance away.

Sloane, Braylen would probably think, looked a lot like Eddie. She had lots of curly blond hair and rosy cheeks, blue eyes that were light enough to be distracting and dominated the other features of her face. She looked pretty calm, disturbingly stoic, in a yellow dress with wool stockings and a matching cardigan sweater, as Finn scooped her up in a hug. Instead she eyed Braylen from over her father's shoulder.

"There you are," Finn cooed, squeezing her and kissing her forehead. "How are you? How's grandma?"

"She's sleeping." she answered, her eyes still on Braylen. "It's a raccoon."

Sloane did look like Eddie - well, a younger Eddie - but also looked like a younger version of the Eden he had seen in photographs, Finn was right about that. He stood to the side and smiled as the pair embraced. Finn was a good father, he knew that already - the man just needed more faith in himself.

"I don't know if raccoons talk, luv," he said with a chuckle, because he wasn't going to take offense by that. It was more amusing than anything.

"Or walk into hospitals. I'm Braylen. An' you're Sloane."

	"They could on tv." She told him and when Finn crouched to let her down she curled her arms tighter around him and rested her cheek against his shoulder. He sighed and squeezed her tighter before detaching himself. "Let's go see Grandma and then we'll talk to the doctor." He murmured and forged ahead towards the designated room. 	"Well yeah, anything can happen on the telly," Braylen agreed with an easy sort of grin. "But I promise I'm no raccoon." He followed along after the pair as they resumed their trek down the hall, until they reached the room that currently housed Finn's mother-in-law. Inside the room, Finn's mother in law, connected to monitors but otherwise very still in her hospital gown, was alone. Without a nurse or doctor in sight, Finn frowned, looking back curiously at Sloane who couldn't seem to take her eyes off of Braylen for a minute. "What happened, Sloane?"

"She fell down," The girl reported, staring at Braylen as if she expected him to do something. "In the bathroom and she was shaking but when the ambulance came to get her she was sleeping."
