Malcolm was back from his summer trip to see his grandmother and his sister and there weren't any plans for him to go anywhere else anytime soon until September. Finn was glad because it meant he'd get to spend lots of time with his son before they had to separate but also a little sad since it meant he wouldn't get to see much of Braylen. Of course, not seeing that particular side of Stargate was also a bit of a relief. Sometimes he still wasn't sure what he was doing with someone old enough to be his son. His inability to commit, however, didn't keep him from calling Braylen up after his son had gone to bed to ask him to come over.

He was waiting for Braylen to show up now, sitting on the stoop of his house. It was a nice evening, warm and pleasant and not too dark since they were in the city, a perfect nice for spending some time together rolling around in the grass. He was wearing a light sweatshirt and a pair of jeans, nothing too out of the ordinary for him and even though the clothes he'd chosen made sure he was immune to the night air, he still felt chills.

Braylen had left the base when Finn called, and headed into town. He took was a little sad that Malcolm was back. Glad for Finn, because he thought that the bond Finn was developing with his son was a very good thing, but sad because he wouldn't get to see him quite as much. But there were always evenings. Like tonight.

He parked a little down the street so the noise of the car didn't attract Malcolm's attention, and ambled up the road, dressed in his own jeans (tighter and much more torn and tattered than Finn's) and a plain black shirt. He smirked lazily when Finn came into view.

"Hey luv," he greeted, walking over to stand in front of him before he turned and settled himself down on the stoop next to him.

"There you are." Finn said with a little smile as Braylen finally showed up. He watched him as he sat and once it seemed that Braylen was settled, he leaned over and kissed him quickly. "I was going to go inside, didn't think you were coming." As if Braylen would ever now show up. "How have you been? How was your day?" It was the sort of small talk that Finn had learned from being married.

Braylen snorted. "You knew I was gonna come," he replied, sliding his hand along Finn's leg as he settled in beside him. "It's nice out here though." In the evening air that had just the right amount of coolness to keep it from being too humid.

"My day's been good. Eddie's gettin' married." Of course his best friend had come and told him the news as soon as it had happend, a bundle of excitement.

	"Oh, really?" He was getting married? Finn didn't look as impressed or as glad as Braylen probably wanted him to be or had been himself. Eddie was, no doubt, marrying Dameon, and that was just strange. They were both kids and they were both men, no matter how much Eddie apparently wished it wasn't true. "Well...good for them, I guess. Braylen snorted again. "I don't know, not like I went and asked him," he said with a snicker. "He always liked Eddie so he's probably okay with it." Braylen was glad for them both, because Dameon was good for Eddie. And Eddie deserved all the best.

He wedged his arm under Finn's arm and slid it around his back to lean against him. "Feel like we should be lying out and counting stars or summit."

	"Yeah, but it could be worse. It's not as bad as in New York. Or London," Braylen said, sliding away and grabbing Finn's arm. "C'mon, let's go out back. It'll be darker out there." 	Braylen turned to look over his shoulder and he raised an eyebrow. "After all this time and you still think I'm so one-dimensional?" he asked. 	"I don't think any teenager likes to sit and look at the stars." He followed him out and stretched on the grass next to him, tucking his hands behind his head. There weren't really a lot of stars but there were some and many constellations were obvious like Orion and the dippers. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
