Gus finds a Cute Boy in his bed!
Who: Gus and Kat
Where: Gus's room
When: 1 Jan 2012
What: Gus awakens to Kat in his bed (not in that way, sickos!)
Rating: PG-13 because Gus's head always goes into the gutter
Status: COmplete

Gus's fight with Brady really affected him probably even more than what Gus realized. Yeah, he said some dickish things to Brady too but in the end, the two of them cared about each other enough that they did care what the other thought. Probably fortunately for Brady, Gus took Brady's comments not as homophobic but more about Gus's tendency to not keep long term relationships. Granted, he wasn't as bad as some people he knew (before the day of Lust, Gus had been on a six month dry spell). Needless to say, it made Gus to not want to party on the biggest party of the year. He found himself turning into his mother, who believed that NYE and NYD was the best day to start writing. It set a good precedent for the year, she used to say. Gus had thought about it as he stared at his novel he had been picking at for the last five years. He really should be further along and not procrastinating.

So that is what Gus did on New Years Eve. He put on his music earphones, turned up the volume, as he got absorbed in industrial techno, and just wrote. And he wrote a lot. It was easy to get lost when you didn't want to think about a fight that he had, which he knew they would continue being friends, but for now, things were tense. The only thing he wanted to focus on was his neglected fantasy novel.

He was sort of dismissive when Felix and Lottie came to see him (and honestly jumped when Felix removed his earbud)and he sort of just was gave permission to use his bed for a very tired Katsumi. Gus, honestly didn't sleep so much. Usually, he fell into a dead sleep for about five hours a night, but would sleep longer on the weekends. Other than that, Gus did have a very bad habit of reading into the hours of the morning and when he got motivated to write, it was the same way. A complete loss of time.

As for New Years Eve, he did do the countdown and had a couple beers with visitors but that was pretty much it. At one, he went back to his room and went back to writing despite when Kat arrived and Gus gave away his rather large bed as a place to crash. It was right about 5am in which Gus felt his eyes blurring and the apartment had since quieted down. He made a nest of extra blankets on the floor after considering just settling next to Kat. There was enough room in bed but he didn't know the exhausted person who now lied beneath his covers. He was cute though, which Gus determined this must have been some cruel joke from Aphrodite considering the fight.

Gus finally stirred, feeling kind of sore about noon and he looked to see if his guest was still there. "Hmmm... so last night DID happen..." he said.

Kat could not recall a time that he had ever felt as tired as he was when he came to on the beach. He wasn't sure if it was merely a consequence of allowing himself to be possessed or the angel never bothered to give his body a moment of rest. Then again, Kat was an insomniac and a workaholic, his body should be fairly accustomed to weeks of mostly work and little sleep. Usually when exhaustion finally settled in, he could still manage to get himself home and into bed without ending up a hassle to anyone.

He really didn't want to further be a burden on anyone, but the more he tried to insist on being left on his own the more Felix insisted on the contrary. In the end, his best friend's will overruled his own and he ended up at the New Years Eve party at Brady's place. Unfortunately, Kat was to tired to even make an attempt at merrymaking and wanted to find a quiet place to rest a little. Which ended himself in Gus's room. He didn't want to be a bother and was just fine with sleeping in his wheelchair. But such stubborn politeness was pointless when your best friend was a son of Baldr.

His sleep was far from restful, instead of boring easily forgotten dreams his slumber was filled with unsettling events that seemed all too real. Katsumi was forced to stand helpless as he watched the stranger from the movie theater cower before him and enveloped by flame before he awoke. Katsumi reacted quite normally for someone startled from a nightmare with someone unknown caught in their peripheral vision; he reflexively swung his arm. He at least had enough presence of mind to immediately apologize afterward. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry!"

Gus was not expecting Katsumi to hit him, although he would think later he should have. It was so sudden, that he did get a cheekful. It didn't hurt as much as he thought it would. Rubbing his cheek, he laughed it off and sat up into a sitting position, "Oh, no worries! You seemed like you had quite a night last night so I suppose it is easy to get discombobulated."

He let his hand fall to the side as he sized up the guy, "I'm Gus. I don't think we've formally met? Although I must say, seeing you in my bed is a great start for the new year..." his eyes glinted with mischief. Even after his fight with Brady he is still making vague flirty remarks to people he just met.

"Do you want... I don't know, some bacon and eggs or something?" Come on, he still had to be a good host!

"No, really, I shouldn't have done that!" Katsumi sat up as well and brought his hands to his face in embarrassment. Nightmare or not, smacking one's host is just bad manners.

"I'm Katsumi. Thanks for letting me borrow your bed, I feel bad you slept on the floor. It's your bed, I wouldn't have minded if you wanted to sleep on it." He moved to the edge of the bed and placed his feet on the floor.

"Oh, no thanks, I'm not really hungry," Kat answered with a sheepish grin as he raked a hand through his hair. "if anything, I owe you one for making you sleep on the floor. Well, two, since I slapped you."

"I'm not bleeding and I have gotten my share of slaps before so... it's fine. No worries..." Gus commented dismissively. He came from an incredibly physical family so it wasn't anything to worry about as far as he was concerned.

"Katsumi? Japanese?" he asked to make sure he got the ethnicity right. "Haha, lots of people pass out on my bed. Maybe because it is so big and so comfortable. I also have a tendency to bring people in a coma..." he said the last sentence with so much innocence it had to be a joke.

"Are you sure? I know I would probably burn it a little but bacon is always good..." Gus replied in a teasing tone. Well, except if you're Brady of course. "And ah... it is New Year's Eve. I am sure most people ended up asleep on the floor."

"If you say so, I'm really not a wake up slapping people kind of person." As far as first impressions went, Katsumi would rank this among his bad ones. All of the currently unknown impressions left by the angel notwithstanding.

"Katsumi is a very Japanese name, isn't it? Most people call me Kat," he smiled faintly. "And because your bed is so big and comfortable, I feel extra bad. There was room to spare, I really don't take up much space."

"I'm sure, unless you let me help in the kitchen, then I might think about it." He was just far too much of a workaholic to pass up an opportunity to do a chore, even if he was a guest in someone's house.

"No, I should say not. You look like the type who would break in half before hurting someone. No offense..." Gus said with a small smile. Of course, Gus could be sort of judgmental on how strong people were. He sort of was addicted to lifting.

"Ah, okay. I shall call you Kat. Are you actually Japanese or are you like me in which I am Turkish and Greek with a French first name?" he worked his way to his feet and seemed to be a little shaky on his feet. "I almost did crawl into bed but some people don't appreciate when I crawl in bed with them. I am a cuddler." He gave a wink as he retied his hair back into a ponytail.

At Katsumi's last comment, he wheeled the chair over to the bed. "Do you... need help?"

The break in half comment earned a pout, an expression that would have honestly not help with any protests that he was in fact a lot stronger than he looked. Even though Kat was skinny, it required a lot of upper body strength to be capable of even half of what he did most days. Kat didn't argue, however, because Gus caught him on an off day.

"I'm Japanese. My mom never said my dad was any different. I've got black hair, dark eyes, and on the off-white side of pale. That's very Nipponese." Kat grinned slightly, "So how did you get a French first name, Mr. Cuddler-who-did-not-cuddle?"

"No, no, no, no..." Kat answered as he shook his head emphatically at the offer of help. He was sure he gave off the image of someone weak and in need of help the night before, so Kat wasn't going to hold the statement against him. "Last night was a fluke, I should be okay now. I'm a lot stronger than I look."

Was he pouting? That was absolutely adorable! And it was due to nothing he said! Absolutely! Gus still bet he could break Katsumi in half. Then again, the only person he knew who would give him a run for his money was Ari, maybe Felix if he fought anyone.

At the explanation of his Japanese traits, Gus just smiled a little. He still got mistaken for Arab when Turks were considered slightly different... a European Arab mix really. Gus preferred to believe he had Mediterranean features, the long face and the long nose and the tan complexion. Besides, he saw his father. He took after his dad the most. He just had his mother's complexion. "Ah, okay. I'm not skilled on knowing which features indicate which Asian ethnicity."

"Mom was reading Edgar Allen Poe when her water broke. Auguste. You know the name of his detective character that Doyle stole for Sherlock Holmes?" Gus beamed a little. "My grandfather said my name was so ridiculous he began to call me Gus immediately. But I only ever hear my full name when I'm in trouble or when I ran track and they announced when I won a race or during ceremonies. You know, that sort of thing. And if you want me to cuddle, I can..." he gave Kat a long face.

Gus lifted his hands up in the surrender gesture, "Okay, I won't help you unless you ask for help. Sound like a fair deal?"

"I think that Auguste is a cool name. Your mom picked well. My mom named me after her hometown, but her hometown is written with different kanji. No matter how you pronounce it, in Japan most think my name belongs to a girl because it is a 'pretty' name, but since her name had the symbol for sea in it, her baby had to have it too."

"You look very cuddly, but I'll have to take a raincheck. I supposed to meet someone last night and slept through it, so I really should try not to stand up the friends I said I'd meet today." Kat smiled as he moved himself from the bed to the wheelchair. "But I can stay long enough to help you with breakfast. Deal?"

"Well, mom is an eccentric lady. My mom is Kaya Pappas... you know the author of those mystery romance novels featuring the female detective who is on the trail of a world class thief and there is sexual tension abound. Did I mention she was a detective and my dad is Hermes?" Gus said in a flippant tone. It did kind of secretly bothered him that his mother wrote probably her fantasies about his godly parent for all to see. Probably why he made it a joke just then. "Ahh... that's cool. I can't tell if it is girly or not. But it sounds cool."

At Kat's offer, Gus nodded, "That sounds fair! I'm sorry you missed your meeting! I hope he or she is very forgiving!" With that, he opened the door and gave a long stretch. "After you Mister Katsumi!" He gave a long playful bow as if he were a butler of some sort.
