Daisuke accepted Simon's kiss as he continues to trail up and down Simon's spine with his index finger. At the mention of war, Daisuke stiffens a little bit. Time to sharpen his sword. He didn't entirely disagree that it would make sense to Simon to face off with his mother.

"I love you, Simon," Daisuke said more easily. "That means I will always be with you..." He kisses Simon's neck once in response. "I mean it."

He paused for a moment, "I want to be by your side. Okay? I'll have your back." He paused for a moment, "Just put a lot of thought into your plans and don't rush in foolishly. I know you're smart so you won't do that..." the last sentence was said quite pointedly.
