WHO Gus Tilki & Jenny Meyers
WHERE Streets of Manhattan
WHEN Saturday, May 12th, evening
RATING PG-13
SUMMARY After a rain-checked Avengers viewing, Jenny and Gus find some fun in an unexpected place.
STATUS Complete

"Oh my god, and the scene, the first one, where Mark Ruffalo Hulked out? So cool!" There was nothing quite like a movie to really ramp Jenny up. Having grown up around film sets and trailers and studios, she appreciated the art form and its versatility. It could provoke so many different feelings. It could take you anywhere you wanted to go. Jenny loved the dialogue, she loved the camera work, she loved the sets, she loved the costumes. She loved ever piece and shred of work that went into making a film, and she always, always sat through the entire credits. She'd seen first hand how hard those people worked. They deserved to have someone read their name and give them recognition. And she loved that nowadays scenes were put on the end of the credits, like a goodbye kiss. The movies felt like home to Jenny, and she loved being able to share the experience.

She was glad, then, that Gus had been happy to reschedule their movie date. She'd given him a thorough look over when they met, but he did indeed look one hundred percent okay. She was still pretty sad that it was a brother of hers, somewhere in New York, that had caused the damage. It was the last thing she would have imagined; their mother was hardly a creature of violence! Then again, if this Jay had the problems Jenny did with moderation, perhaps he had just gone to far with something that had brought out the worst in him. That's what she had to believe.

"You know, I read that he did all the CGI motions for The Hulk animation," she continued, looking up at Gus, her enthusiasm bubbling over. "All the raging and smashing! That would be pretty wild!"

Gus looked at the Thor figure with a chuckle before he stuffed it in his pocket which already had something else within it. Gus figured he'll discover what it is later on his daily pocket emptying. It was pretty sad that he had to think about it like that. He wouldn't show that to Jenny. No, she liked his confidence. He'll keep it there.

"Ah I see. I want to see Cappy singing the America, Fuck Yeah, song..." Gus said after laughing at the thought of it. "I have no idea what you're talking about... McDonalds is gourmet food. Completely..." He looked at the alley way and grinned. "Okay! Let's check it out!"

He grabbed her hand to pull her across the street, pretty much not realizing his own speed. Once there, he saw there was something else that could provide a booster to flying. A couch! Sure, it was a crappy couch. But it mostly was intact.

"ALLEY FURNITURE!" he exclaimed. "Do you need a couch?"

"Oh god, I bet Chris Evans would love that too," she exclaimed, tucking the figure into her purse. "But it's hard imagining the clean-cut Captain even uttering the world 'fuck.' It would be a really good spoo... whoooa!" Jenny was cut off as she suddenly found herself being dragged across the street towards the alley. Her short legs had no chance of keeping up, so most of her motion was propelled by Gus himself. When he stopped she looked up at him with wide eyes. "Jeez, you weren't kidding when you said you're fast! I didn't even register we were moving until we were here!'

But Gus's mind was already on other things, and Jenny followed his gaze to the couch in question. "Oh hey!" She walked over to it and looked it over, munching thoughtfully on another handful of fries. "Nope, I don't need one. That's a shame though. I wonder how springy it is." She pressed down on one of the cushions experimentally. She could feel the coils under her hand; no wonder someone got rid of it. Still... Jenny hopped up on the couch and bounced slightly. "Not bad!"

"Somehow, I find that kind of hot..." Gus said with a bit of a smirk. It did put an image in his head that he thought he would have to save for later. When Jenny exclaimed he was fast, Gus looked a little surprised. "I thought I was going a little slow! Ahhh... it is so weird sometimes." He did love his speed gift, but sometimes it did seem like people could not keep up.

As Jenny bounced on it, Gus did too, "Yes!" Then he tripped and stumbled back into the alleyway. Hey, he was fast, not necessarily graceful. Then he looked back. "I wonder if we should move it some place weird. When I was a teenager, my friends and I when we found alley furniture, he would move it someplace random, like in front of the library. There was one time we had to run from the cops. And since I'm so fast, my friends ended up getting caught and I didn't." He paused for a moment, "I felt bad for it but once I get running, it's like I get in the zone."

Jenny giggled when Gus stumbled. "Be careful! You've had enough falls to last for a while, okay?" She stepped off the couch herself and considered it. She had some pretty noodle-y arms, but the piece wasn't too huge. "Where would be good? Maybe we should put it in the movie theater! I always wished they had couches to cuddle up in. It's maybe the one downfall of theater versus home viewing. Or we could put it in the middle of an office! Or next to a hot dog stand."

She looked over at Gus curiously. "Can you carry stuff through your portals? That sure would open a lot of opportunities for... uh... furniture relocation." She grinned, then added in a scolding tone. "If you ditch me, I will have to sic the Captain on you!" She pulled her figurine out of her purse and thrust him imperiously towards Gus. "And not in a sexy way!" she added mischievously.

"Haha! The movie theatre! I can do that!" Gus tapped his chin as he let his grin fly. "Well, there is still a late showing of the Avengers so we have to get in and get out... but the rush is most of the fun." Gus didn't know if his portals would allow them to do so but hey, he could try. "Oh, this will be a good experiment. I hope I don't get spliced." He paused for a moment before adding, "Or you. I don't want you to get spliced either..."

He laughed as she threw the figure at him, "No! Not Cappy! I still could outrun him..." he picked it up and gave it back to her. "Okay, let's do this!" He slapped his hands together and touched the entrance to the alley way. The frame glowed for a brief moment before he reached for an end, "Okay, ready? Go!"

"I appreciate your concern," she joked. Her cheeks were starting to get sore from all the laughing, and that was saying something for the child of a deity dedicated to joy. She replaced the Captain safely back in his purse, then positioned herself at the end of the couch opposite from Gus.

She didn't have much time to think or respond before the portal was glowing and Gus was giving the word. She grabbed the bottom corners and heaved with all her might. She barely managed to get the sofa to the height of her thighs. It teetered a bit as her arms shook. "Man... I really... need... to do... some weights!" she panted. "Don't go... too fast... Short legs here!" She let Gus lead, concentrating on keeping the couch aloft.

The two portaled with the couch in what seemed like the narrow hallway leading into the movie theatre which they watched the Avengers. The walls vibrated with the sounds of the next showing of the movie. Gus had to catch his bearings for a moment because that was an awful lot to bring through the portal.

"Whoa..." Gus muttered. "This makes sneaking into the movie theatre a lot better!" He chuckled as he put the couch down.

"Oi..." then suddenly, he saw an usher with a flashlight. Gus reached for Jenny's hand.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!?!" the usher yelled and Gus pulled Jenny and himself through another portal to a corner store near Gus's house. He giggled madly.

"Oh, that was hilarious. I bet he was like, 'Where did they go?'" Gus laughed a little bit. "So where do you live? I can give you that carpet ride I promised!"
