	She exists, and she's a total CUNT. I mean, I don't know if the name is the same, and the storyline's a lot different because LOL ALL THE STORYLINES ARE DIFFERENT. But in I think the third or fourth book you meet Richard's ex-girlfriend who is a raging idiot who does nothing but essentially beg Kahlan and Cara to give them an excuse to kill her slowly. LMAO YEs she really is a big character in the rest of the books. Like book 3 she's off and on but from there on out she features pretty heavily.

I enjoy both the books and the show for different reasons. The books are definitely more adult, and the shows are just... just fun, dammit. But yeah you will occasionally want to beat the everliving shit out of characters in the books from time to time. Also the EVERYONE ALWAYS WANTS TO RAPE KAHLAN ALL THE TIME thing gets to you so after a couple books you need to take a break and go back in when your will to live returns.

YESSSSSSSS. I am so happy about this I could burst. Cara ended up being my fave in the show ♥

dslkj I definitely got that from the first two books omg, the whole Denna thing was wildly different from how it ended up being in the show. I talked about this with a friend of mine and we discussed how the show might have fared if they'd just gone all out and tried for the darker feel in the show instead of going for the humour that was a pretty steady thread throughout both seasons, even with all the PERILLLLL they had going on.

Well the thing is, the show was made by a network owned by Disney, so everyone knew they'd deviate and make it family-friendly. When Disney canceled the show, Starz WANTED it. They made offers and fought really hard to buy the rights, but Disney refused to give it up. Had Starz gotten it, the show would have gone darker and closer to the books, and I think that would have been amazing. But Disney is an asshole.

I really do love the books, and Cara's probably my favorite character in the books. I started reading them when I was like, 15 or 16, and then once I caught up I read the new one whenever it was published and stuff didn't bother me - because I had such a long wait inbetween books. Then last summer I went and marathon re-read the whole series... and it was amazing how much the EVERYONE WANTS KAHLAN thing bothered me. Like I think it's the fifth or sixth book you start getting chapters from a new villain's perspective, and this guy has NEVER MET Kahlan. Yet one of his life goals is basically to meet the mother confessor and rape her. That was when I had to take a break, read something else, and go back. >_>

Of all the changes, I really miss the mud people on the show the most. I fucking adored them, and I was so bummed we never got them.

	Ohhhhhh. AND YEAH, I NOTICED THAT. Like wow, liberties? But I'm glad they took liberties, if only because I want to beat Richard over the head with something heavy as of book two.
