Still here, natch, and none of my kids are keen on togas. Except Wade, who says if he gets to play along, HELL YEAH. Ahem.
For what it's worth, my votes in order from first to last preference as regards the "grander scale" ideas: 1. Genosha: Not sure why, just always thought it was a neat concept. 2. Outing as superheroes: logically, this should probably be first. But this is my list, dammit, so I'll arrange stuff how I want. Yeah. Really though, this is the most likely on the list, since it's only a matter of time before someone with two synapses to fire together makes the connection between entire city blocks burning in destruction and the X-folks. Or just Pyro. 3. Savage Land: I'm kinda "meh" on the Savage Land as a whole. Again, no particular reason, just that I was the one kid who was never especially interested in dinosaurs so half the appeal of the SL is lost on me. :-\ 4. Toga party: lolwhut? I think this is one of those things I'd just have to see in action before I could even begin to know what to think. At this point I think I like the "modern gods" idea, but...togas? (Wade: YES! *readies Powerpuff Girl underwear just in case he has an unfortunate run-in with a sewer grate ala Marilyn*)
Just another random idea to throw into the mix: I think the "modern gods" thing could just as easily tie into the more grounded, reality-based movieverse if the superhero outing occurred. Sure, some people would be (rightfully) freaked the hell out, but there would also probably be a fair number who thought it was the coolest thing ever and started "worshiping" the X-bunch in that great American way, via TMZ and blind idol...well, worship. Wade will not submit false leads to the tabloids about that kinky threeway he witnessed between Wolverine, Sabretooth, and Farmer Mackenzie's prize hog. He promises.
I'm kind of amused at the idea of people trolling the still-smoking ruins of a recent battle site for souvenirs and selling them on eBay. "OOAK UNIFORM "X" BUTTON (CYCLOPS??) AUTHENTIC NR!" It's also, of course, entirely likely that I'm just running on too little sleep right now.
