So the whole damn school was up in arms because of last month's sentinel attack. But nobody in the damned school wanted to fight one of these fucking tin cans. Well, it was a good thing Logan was there to remind them all that these things weren't going away anytime soon. Even if the government banned them tomorrow, as long as one was still standing, someone would be using them for something, and crushin' mutants was probably always gonna be high on the list. So, gameplan... Catch 'em, kill 'em.

Logan was standing in the center of a normally-busy New York City street. It wasn't busy at the moment, a street full of cars sat vacant after their owners had fled the scene. A giant killer robot in the intersection would do that. Logan stared down the sentinel for a moment before launching himself onto the trunk of the bright yellow taxi cab, his metal weighted frame leaving dents in the car. He stepped quickly from the trunk to roof and brought out his claws. "Comin' get it!" The Wolverine yelled at the metallic beast. The sentinel responded with a series of beeps and a missile from its right shoulder. Fuck, mutant tracking fuckers. Logan thought fast and slid down the windshield of cab, swiping his right claw in the path of missile. He clipped the back of the missile and sent it whirling out of control. It slammed into one of the cars behind him and erupted into a ball of fire. One by one the cars exploded as the fire reached the gas tanks. Logan, now on his ground, watched the sentinel as the massive amount of heat was throwing off its sensors. He looked back after what he thought was the last explosion. Until he felt himself being pushed forward. The taxi he'd climbed on had just gone up and littered his back with metal and burns. Logan landed face first on the pavement, leather X-Suit torn to shit in the back. Before he could push himself up he heard an all together different noise as the sentinel fell backward and into the ground. Logan raised and noticed a large chunk of the engine lodged in the center of the robots chest. Huh.

"That's how you do that." Logan said to the other X-Men in the Danger Room as he pulled a cigar from his pocket. "There'll be more, right now... Go!"

After dodging some debris, Warpath found himself standing next to Flux, the tiny semi-Asian seemed a bit nervous about the exercise. Not that she had anything to worry about - Jimmy could take as many sentinels that came at him. Simulation over.

"Nice..." Jimmy thought aloud as he watched the display put on by Logan. The feral mutant screamed 'go' and Jimmy turned to Wren and gave the woman a wink. "Check it out." Warpath's knees bent slightly and he propelled himself off the ground. He flew straight up until he reached the top of the buildings, then peered around the city for the next sign of robot activity. It didn't take long, as another one appeared at the opposite end of the street as Logan. Jimmy took off toward the monster as quickly as he could fly, a battle cry erupted from his mouth, beginning in his lungs, as he bear-hugged the beast's head. Warpath ripped its head from its body and tossed it to the side.

Hah, he watched the body fall and took a moment to marvel at his work. What he didn't noticed was the group of sentinels that had appeared behind him. A missile shot from the lead and slammed into Jimmy's back. The impact sent Warpath hurling back to the ground and into pavement. "Ow..." Okay, new plan.

Wren's eyebrows raised slightly, just as Warpath took off. 'Show off,' she thought, but she smiled despite this fact; it wasn't like he was the only one in the X-Men who had a knack for being a bit of a show-off. She was used to the macho mentality by now.

While he shot off towards the Sentinel that appeared at the far end of the street, Wren decided to keep her eyes peeled for the others who would undoubtedly rear their ugly, metal faces. Seconds later, she heard the commotion start and she watched as Jimmy took out the first of several Sentinels. Impressive, but it wasn't over just yet.

As she began making her way (quickly) towards where he was admiring his "handy work," she was the first one to spot the other group of metal titans. Crap!

"War---" she began to caution, but was abruptly cut off when one of the lot had fired a missile and it had hit its target. Goddammit! Wren made haste and broke out in a dead run, weaving in and out of abandoned vehicles along the way. Rendering herself completely invisible, she found an opening between one of the giant robot's legs and put herself between both James and the group of Sentinels.

Seemingly rematerialized in front of them, she focused her energy on building a psionic force field and pushed it further and further away from her own body. When it had been fortified, she moved it a bit harder and faster towards the Sentinels with her mind. Unfortunately, the rest of them had already locked onto her position and three missiles were guided her way with uncanny precession, but... they missed. All three veered off course and slammed into nearby buildings in a series of powerful explosions. (The heat emitted from said explosions were enough to render the machines inoperative.) But this didn't go without having his consequences.

Flux's psionic shields were fairly powerful, but the larger the object that hit them, the more forceful the impact was on the user. In this case, she had been hit by three missiles at close range and this had her to get knocked back and caused her to fall back onto her ass. Hard.

Wren winced a little. "Ow," she said, seemingly mimicking Warpath just moments ago. Taking only a few seconds to recuperate, she turned over onto her hands and knees and the pushed herself back up to stand.

The smoke was just beginning to dissipate, and she could now see Warpath a little clearer.

"You know," she began, her voice slightly teasing, "you didn't have to do it just like Wolverine."

Jimmy stood back from the small crater in the asphalt his 'landing' had created. He looked toward Wren who was already making it back to her feet; he liked a lady that could take a hit. But that wasn't the point right now, sentinels were still appearing like Adam Beach in Native movies.

The spot on his back the missile had collided with was still sore and much of the back of his X-Suit had been burned away by the flames. He pulled down on the chest of his leather armor and snapped the collar, the only bit of fabric that had kept it together. James tossed the scraps of the top half of his uniform away.

"I do things my way." Warpath told the petite half-Asian and followed it with a wink.

This would probably be the moment any other X-Man would've realized teamwork was the best option, but then Jimmy wasn't any other X-Man. Once again, he pushed off the ground, this time his hand reached down for the one of the large knifes on his person. He pulled the weapon from the sheath sewn into the thigh of his X-Suit and hurled the blade into the chest of one of their attackers. Jimmy slammed into the beast's chest and as the machine fell he pulled the knife from the hole it had forged. Next, he leapt and repeated this maneuver twice more before the forth sentinel caught on. His massive metallic hand swatted the Native away, back onto the ground. More of them were appearing, it didn't seem like there was going to be any end to them. This was going to take awhile.

Jimmy stood again, shaking the cobwebs out of his head. "Any ideas, beautiful?" Easy Jimmy, business first.

Wren might've been able to take a hit, but that didn't change the fact that it still hurt like a bitch. No doubt there'd be a nasty bruise for her to ice later. Oh well, it wasn't like she hadn't gotten a few bumps and scrapes from being in the Danger Room before. Over the years, she'd gotten used to the abuse.

However when Warpath had picked himself off of the ground and she'd witness him tear the upper half of his suit off, it was safe to assume all thoughts of pain had been pushed away. Well, this certainly wasn't going to be distracting. No, not at all.

Just don't look, Wren told herself firmly. But damn if it wasn't hard to.

"So, I've noticed," she replied, trying her best not to sound so... impressed. And it had nothing to do with her performance in the simulation either. It was a good thing he had taken off again shortly thereafter, or he probably might've noticed the sudden rosiness to her cheeks.

While he attempted to take down the Sentinel (and subsequently was swatted back to the ground), Flux had gotten herself out of the way. Unfortunately, as soon as that one fell, another one (or two or three) took its place. Something told her that this particular program was going to be practically impossible to pass, which didn't surprise her, considering who was supervising it.

Once James was back on his feet again, Wren moved closer and tried to keep her game face on. "I suggest we stick together and work as a team." With so many Sentinels running rampant, it would probably take their combined powers (and then some) to bring them down.

James thought over the situation again; all the other X-Men in the Danger Room seemed to be busy fighting their own hordes of sentinels. It didn't look again any of them were any more successful. No matter how good you were, a constant stream of them was too much for anyone.

He looked down at the scrappy woman in front of him. There was some dirt on her face and a look of mild concern. Fated from birth to become a warrior and protector, both culturally and astrologically, he suddenly had the urge to abandon the campaign and protect Wren. That wasn't the point of the simulation, but the monsters were approaching... Jimmy scooped Wren up and forced himself off the pavement so hard a crater appeared where his feet had been. They raced up into the air and flew past several of the iron giants. "Make us invisible, now!" Jimmy roared as he narrowly avoided a swat from one of the metal fuckers.

Wren was a little surprised to find herself high up in the air no more than a few seconds later. Don't panic, she thought to herself, her eyes squeezed tightly shut.

She had always been a little (okay, a lot) afraid of heights, but somehow, being in Jimmy's arms helped to sooth her nerves. However, feeling the sudden burst of air in her face as they whizzed past a particularly ornery Sentinel, did not. Stupid, freakin' tin cans.

Flux reopened her eyes quickly and put all her thoughts and energy to bending the wavelengths of light around them. It took a moment, but they had, indeed, become invisible - just as Warpath had requested. Demanded. Whatever.

It was always a curious sensation to look through someone, especially at close range. You could see the distorted lines of light around the person's figure and if you moved in for an even closer look, you could see the faint details of their facial features. Weird.

Still, just because they were invisible, didn't mean that they would remain unnoticed indefinitely. They needed to get somewhere safe, and fast. Though she suspected that there weren't many places for them to hide right now.

"What now?" she asked, not even a second later. "There's too many of them."
