Who: Surge and Open!
When: Friday, September 21, 2007
Where: Around [Starting at the institute and may move elsewhere]
What: Surge being bored.
Status: In Progress.
Rating: TBD

With her classes out of the way, Nori was sitting on some steps outside with a tray of sushi on her lap. It wasn't the crappy stuff that was from the stores around; she managed to get it while she was out getting her fix for the day. She hadn't been able to get out to find someone with the stuff she needed, so the withdrawls were getting bad. Nori knew she was getting in over her head with the habit she started, but she was unable to break it now. While she was out, she picked up some hair dye and her hair was now the vibrant electric blue that she loved. The hair dye made her mood a lot better, but being able to have her fix also made it a hundred times better than it would have been if she had just dyed her hair.

Using the chopsticks that were between her figners, she slipped another piece of sushi into her mouth and chewed on it. The longer she sat here doing nothing, the more bored she became. Maybe she should go find someone ot bother or hang out with. Hopefully there would be someone that came along to comment about something so she could walk with them. If all else failed, she could always shock them a little  to draw their attention. A devious smile slid across her lips the more she thought about the latter idea.

Shiro was easily bored. It is hard not to be when you spent three years of your life on the street with no curfew. Since classes were over, Sunfire tried to think of something he could do. He thought of training but due to a work out yesterday followed by a danger room scenario, his muscles hurt. He thought for a moment that perhaps he should go outside and lay in the sun. That always made him feel so much better.

As he stepped outside, he recognized the electric blue hair of his fellow squad member, Surge. He liked to call her Kogal because of her attitude and her fashion sense. It was also nice because he could talk in Japanese with her and she wasn't his sister. Not like he didn't mind talking to Leyu, things were just awkward. Smelling the ever appetizing scent of sushi, his stomach growled. Quickly, he made a move to snatch one of her rolls, "Domo, Kogal-san." He said in the process whether she would block him or not. The translation of his words are a more informal thank you followed by Ms. Kogal.

Nori knew better, she should protect her sushi from the grubby hands of those who wanted to take them from her. It could have been a lot worse; someone she didn't like would try to take it from her and then she would be really pissed. It didn't take long before she knew who had swiped the last salmon roll from her and it made her growl a little.

She reached out her hand to swat at his for stealing her food, as her hand touched his, Nori let a light almost static shock current pass from her to him. There was a large grin across her face now and she popped another piece into her mouth. "Kimi da~" Nori gave him a smug look before offering him the plate.

[[Kimi da should be, it serves you right..]]

Shiro popped the roll into his mouth with a cheesy grin. Oh it tasted so good. It tasted like home. How much he missed Japan. He didn't have to speak English all the time there. He shrugged off the feeling of homesickness, well, the shock did it. He gave her a slight glare at her before replying in Japanese, "I wonder how flammable the hair coloring is?" He held out his hand as he produced a ball of plasma. He wouldn't actually throw it at her. That would be unnecessary but he had to have a show of force.

"It was worth it..." he added with a smirk, still speaking in his native tongue and sang it out a little towards the end of the sentence. Then, he made his ball disappear.

Nori rolled her eyes when he said something about her hair being flammable - it would be flammable eve without the hair dye. Stupid hair and it going up in flames quickly. She stuck her tongue out at him and pretended not to play any attention. Even though she was acting very childish, she was happy to be herself for one. Not having to hide behind some facade that she put up in front of a lot of people.

"We'll see if it's worth it next time," she replied in Japanese and gave him an evil glare before almost falling back with laughter.

Shiro found it nice to find someone other than his sister who spoke his language fluently. He also enjoyed her attitude immensely. Of course speaking in Japanese, eating sushi, and spending time with someone from his home just made him miss home that much. How much he wanted to go back. Of course, part of him was slightly frightened over that aspect. He sort of ran away from the underground. No one ever really just runs away. They will find you eventually.

Shiro twitched at her, "Right..." he continued in their native tounge. "Considering most people cannot survive the heat of my blasts. Do anything remotely hurtful, I may turn you into a crispy duck!" He exchanged with her a wicked grin.

"But you wouldn't do that to me~" She let the end of her sentence drag on as she continued talking in their native language. They might be getting funny looks from people, but she didn't mind one bit. It wasn't like people didn't look at her funny because she dyed her hair blue or sucked the electricity out of things when she wasn't wearing her gauntlets or paying attention.

Nori tried to pout, but it didn't work very well. She smiled a little and pulled her knees to her chest so that she could rest her chin on one of them. "What do you think about what has been going on lately?" Her head tilted to the side slightly as she looked over at him and waited for him to answer.

"I wouldn't, would I?" Shiro replied in an innocent tone, "I could easily take you down. No challenge at all." Her speed might prove to be a hinderance but Shiro figured he could work around it. After all, he knew how to fly. That was his advantage over her speed. He stuck his nose in the air at that comment. He loved to tease the 18 year old. He remembered when he was that age... 3 years ago. Wow. So much had changed since then.

When she switched the topic to a more serious one, Shiro took a seat next to her. He made a vague clicking noise which could be described with the "Che" onomonopia. "It's only a matter of time, is what I think. Humans, always trying to one up on anything that may be seen as better than they..."

“Maybe we should take this elsewhere and see where it goes?” Nori also stubbed her nose into the air, but she didn’t look the snobbish type like Shiro did. It was nice to have him to talk with – even though she could be really annoying at times, she was able to relate with him on a different level. Sure, everyone here had the same type of problems and the institute was a safe haven for all of them. But, he was from Japan, like herself, and she left like she could have a closer bond with him. Then again, it could be that stupid charm that he had therefore she just shrugged it off at him attempting to be charming. Like she would ever admit that it worked on her once in a while.

She wrapped her arms around her legs and nuzzled her face into the crook of one of her arms as she looked at him and listened. Serious conversation wasn’t the type of thing that Nori was known for, but there were times where she just wanted to talk with someone. Albeit about something pointless or something important, as long as she had someone to talk to maybe she wouldn’t get into the trouble that she got into or do some of the stupid things that she did. “It just makes me so angry that people in general are so oblivious to things.. That we are like humans just took a different path of evolution than they did.. Then again there are those who believe in nothing about evolution and ugggh..” Nori rubbed her temples and groaned a little more. The girl was a lot smarter than she made others believe, but she could get into a rant about how she felt and knew it was a better idea to stop while she was ahead and not making herself sound like an idiot.

“Anyway.. Since you ate most of my sushi, we should go get more food because I’m still hungry and you should pay.” She plastered a big cheesy grin on her face and did the ‘scared look’ that girls in Japan do to make their eyes look bigger.

"I don't want to do unnecessary damage to wild life and trees. The Danger Room on the other hand..." Shiro suggested with a wicked grin. He loved to fight, perhaps too much. It was a way for him to get out his inner turmoil and anger. It was also why he loved karate and kendo. He didn't know if Nori knew any though.

"I think of it like this... monkeys are distantly related to humans, right?" Shiro offered lightly still grinning a little. "But we keep them around because they're so amusing. However, humans can be dangerous if they put their minds to it. It sort of angers me how much hatred humans can have..." Well, mutants could too. But lets ignore that fact should we?

At her offer, Shiro raised an eyebrow, "It's not my fault you left yourself wide open. Take a lesson to that. Leave yourself open in a fight or while eating will only cause you to fail." Well, he didn't mind taking her out for something to eat. She was cute and all. Slowly, he got to his feet and began to walk away and wondered if she would take the hint that she was to follow. Shiro never liked to outwardly express himself when it came to such things.

"The Danger Room when we get back then." Nori said as she got to her feet and followed behind him. Shoving her hands into her over sized sweater and catching up to him easily she started whistling a little as she thought. She often did random annoying things when she was thinking. Fighting as something she also loved and she knew a few different types of martial arts.

"Maybe one day we'll all be able to get along.." She shrugged a little and ran her hand through her hair before putting her hands back into her pockets. When she wasn't fighting, she often wore normal looking gloves that helped her with her intake and output of electricity much like her gauntlets.

"Do you even know where you're going?" She teased and bumped him with her shoulder and moved away before he would be able to bump her back. "I don't leave myself open in a fight and maybe I don't mind sharing food with my teammate!" Nori huffed a little before wrinkling her nose at him and looking ahead of them.

"You're on!" Shiro shouted melodramatically, "I will crush your pride when I take you down, Surge." Oh yes, a challenge. He felt he hadn't gotten a good one in in a while. He had set his eyes on Wolverine as a decent challenge but Surge would due for the time being.

"I doubt it. Some people have hate deep down in their hearts," Shiro replied as he curled his lip in disgust. His Uncle was one of those people. It was partly because of Tomo's mentoring that caused Shiro to go through a period of self-loathing after his powers came forth. It was probably what started him down a path of excess and taking risks that may not have been the best choice. This whole topic caused Shiro to reach into his pockets and pull out his cigarettes and after lighting one, he began to smoke. "It always come down to that... idealism. That won't happen."

"I'm going to get food?" Shiro responded giving her a slight condescending look. "You asked for some and one salmon roll won't fill me." He took a long drag out of his cigarette. "That sounds like just an excuse, Kogal-san." He gave her a slight smirk.
