He had noticed that over the past few days especially, Jason had been spending time in the main mansion. So he decided to head on in and see if he could find out what was going on. Unlike his brother, Galen had spent hardly any time at all within the mansion proper. He would occasionally visit the kitchen or help bring in crops but he slept in the brotherhood dorms and spent most of the rest of his time outside.
He was wandering the common rooms when he came across a group of the younger kids watching a movie. Galen was about to move on when something from the movie caught his attention. An older fairy talking to a younger one about the power of creation. He found himself drawn towards the movie, leaning over the back of the couch. One of the kids mentioned that the movie just started if he wanted to join them. He considered saying no, but the show was strangely captivating. He had never seen this movie before, since it had come out after he had been kicked out. Movies, or even a TV, had been a luxury they couldn't afford and then when they were older, kids movies just weren't the thing you rented. Especially not when they were hanging with the brotherhood.
He grinned and decided to show off a bit. "I can do that. Watch." Galen took out a seed and willed it to grow, much to the amusement and entertainment of the kids. He couldn't make it grow very much without anything but the seed to feed on but they seemed to like the show nonetheless. A part of him put that down to them being mutants. Had a bunch of humans seen his 'trick' they would have freaked out on him. After the show they insisted he join them and watch the whole movie. Apparently it would be right up his alley. The kids restarted the show and he found himself sitting on the couch with a bunch of kids of differing ages laughing at the introduction of Batty. The show was striking such a deep chord within him, as someone who actually DID feel the pain of the plants he worked with. And he didn't really mind being surrounded by the kids. It was a bit painful when he thought that he and his brother could have had this as well. A nice safe place to be with people like them. That thought didn't linger for very long as he was soon engrossed in watching Ferngully.
