First rule of business, make sure there's a demand for your product. If your product is a weapon of war, make sure someone wants to kill people. Inciting conflicts had been Victor's chief task since he'd become a member of an Hellfire Club. Earlier in the week, a senator supporting mutant rights was left dead from an unknown sniper's bullet. And the evening before that, a high profile and very wealthy business man (who was against the mutants' cause) was found in his bed with his neck snapped. Both murders had angered their respective groups, and pushed both sides closer to the brink; which is exactly why Shaw had instructed Sabretooth to kill both men.
The mission he was currently on had a little bit of a difference... an ambassador of some bullshit backward country (a fiercely anti-mutant country) was in town to lobby for the Globalization of Sentinels Treaty. It was the treaty that would allow the mutant hunting sentinel's to be sold internationally, and was currently not expected to pass through in the U.N. So, kill one of the most out spoken ambassadors for the treaty and piss enough of the anti-mutant countries off and help the treaty win. A curious position for a mutant to be in, except when your mutant employer builds and controls sentinels.
Five minutes to midnight, Sabretooth was waiting in the walk-in closet of the ambassador's suite in New York. He was pressed for time, as access to the room had required the death of two of the guards nearly half an hour ago. It was only a matter of time before their absence was noticed, but the fucker was running late. Victor was considering bailing when he heard voices from outside the room. The lights turned on and he spied through the crack in the door the target and his wife enter the suite and close the door behind them. She moved from her husband and into the bathroom. Once he alone and his back was turned, Victor made his move. With all the stealth and agility his cat-like reflexes allowed, he swiftly positioned himself behind the other man and pulled a knife with a red ribbon tied around the handle. Across the ribbon were the words 'mutant rights'. Victor's left arm wrapped around the man's throat and his right hand drove the knife into the center of his chest with a sharp twist. The blow not only killed almost immediately, it did not allow the victim the luxury of a final scream. Sabretooth dragged the newly-dead man behind the bed and laid him on the floor. He left the knife in his chest and made for the bathroom door. The woman left the bathroom, unaware that anything was wrong until she felt Victor's grip around her face. Hand clasped over her mouth and around her chest pinning her arms, Sabretooth paused a moment. Shaw had been less than encouraging toward Victor's more animal temptations. Her body struggling against his made it hard for him to concentrate. He needed to get out of there, he'd been there too long. He knew that after the other two deaths this week people were on high alert; he didn't have the time. Sabretooth reluctantly snapped the bitch's neck and lowered her limp body to the floor without a sound.
But then he heard it, the guard's were at the door. The two dead on the roof were probably noticed... it was time to go. Victor ran for the the window and decided the time for stealth had passed and busted through the glass and onto the patio. He leapt up to the next patio and then the next patio beyond that. It was time to get the fuck out.
