Who: Wren, Magneto, Pyro, Sway, & Multiple Man.
When: Friday, April 11, 2008 (Mid-Afternoon)
Where: Xavier's; Rec Room.
What: Wren catches up with Magneto, while Pyro and Sway enjoy a match of foosball.
Status: In Progress.
Rating: TBD.

The golden, mid-afternoon sunlight streamed through the half-curtained windows that seemed to illuminate the entire Rec Room, while a petite woman sat on the couch, who was leaning forward slightly with her elbows resting on her thighs and her fingers pressed together in a contemplative fashion underneath her chin; her eyes were close, but that alone didn't suggest that she was resting them, she was merely thinking. Thinking about everything, from her harrowing rescue to Lucas and his death (and how he died), to her short, but nevertheless delightful conversation with Magneto - and yes, she was fully aware of his identity now.

Once she had been in a better, more well-rested mood, she had decided to ask around who her late night visitor had been until she got a satisfactory answer. It had only taken her one try to get it, and when she had learned who he really was, she was a bit shocked. She had been consorting with a terrorist - but not just any terrorist, it had been one that had been highly publicized for many, many years and of whom she had read a great deal about. Wren probably would've been quicker on the uptake if she hadn't been so bogged down with her own internal struggles.

Nevertheless, Wren had been thoroughly impressed by Magneto's etiquette and decorum. After all, he could have so easily tried to take advantage of her vulnerable state to lobby for her loyalties to his infamous Brotherhood of Mutants; but he hadn't and that gesture alone seemed to have earned him her respect. And if that had been a purely strategic move on his part, it may have all been in vain, as Wren wasn't very keen on choosing either side at the moment. If any of them wanted her to, however, they'd have to present a very strong case and even then, it might not be enough to win her over.

OOC: Feel free to have your character(s) already know Wren, if that would make posting easier. Lol. She's been at the mansion for well over a month now and I'm sure she's met pretty much everyone, even if only in passing. Though, of course, there can be exceptions, such as the more anti-social residents. :P

As John turned the corner, with Myra on his heels, he nearly came face-to-face with the MoM, if you will.

Magneto paused, acknowledged the two, then made to move around them. He turned his head half way, leaving the rest of his body facing the direction he had been going. "What are you two up to?"

Pyro paused first, leaving no room for Sway, and she nearly dumped into him. "Rec room, foosball throwdown."

Magneto quirked an eyebrow and smirked slightly at Myra's snickering. Both the pair were competitive and the afternoon had been so relentlessly boring. "I'll join you."

John raised his eyebrows. Magneto had often gone with them to clubs or bars, so it wasn't as if he never shared their company - but it was foosball, for God's sake. "Wanna play winner?" the pyrokine was already walking again.

"He could play without hands," Myra pointed out.

"I'll leave the sport to the two of you," Erik decided, watching both their backsides as the led him toward the room in question. When they arrived, John went straight for the table and pulled out a neon orange ball to start. He held it up for Myra to take if she wanted.

"All right, Johnny," she snatched it up over the table and moved it to the loader. "Ready?"

John gave her a deadpan and then smiled evilly through his eyes. Anyone else might've been torched for 'Johnny', but she said it like she meant it, and that was hot. "Do it."

Erik stood in the doorway, shoulder leaning against the frame, taking in the little contest. In the back of his mind, he made a mental note of his more forward thought of, 'What a smart match'. His eyes flicked across the quiet room after Sway had started off the game. There was a dark head of hair centered against the back of the couch, and he felt a bit of de javu. "Wren," it was a greeting, and he sounded jovial enough. "Might I sit with you while I watch?" he gestured, beside him now (as he was walking past the game table) at the match.

Sway craned her neck around John, hands still moving in a flurry, and spied the person Magneto was speaking to. She'd seen the girl. She'd introduced herself. She didn't have any need for her, though. She was quiet and reserved and -GOAL!- not much fun, it seemed. "You suck, Johnny," she lowered her face in a challenging expression and watched him pluck the ball out of the goal and load it again.

John didn't feel like turning around, so he mouthed, 'New chick?', to which Sway nodded. Ah. Fresh meat. No wonder Mags sounded happy. "And here I was thinking you were the one that sucked," SLAM! Missss. "My."

Sway's expression turned mischievous and she licked her lips, teasingly at the firestarter. "You wish, whitebread."

"Maybe." GOAL.

"Hah!"

She had heard them before they had reached the Rec Room, which allowed her to straighten herself up and look more alert. Wren tried not to look too sulky when around other people, as she knew very well that it more or less made her look like some kind of wounded animal. Not to mention the fact that it most likely made the others feel somewhat uncomfortable to be around her when she was so obviously heartbroken and still pining over her lost love. Though, admittedly, she wasn't the sort who openly discussed her tragic tale, unless someone directly asked her about it, and even then she spared them most of the painful details.

A familiar voice, however, caused Wren to become more aware of what was going on around her and her hazel eyes rose to meet Magneto's blue ones. She was actually a bit surprised to see him, but it didn't register on her face, and her chin rose and fell in a nod and she made a small gesture for him to take a seat. "Please, go right ahead," she had told him after she heard someone score on the foosball table. That game seemed to be the recreational hub on the building on most days, so the noise that regularly accompanied the activity didn't bother her anymore.

Jamie was looking for some people to hang with and figured the rec room was his best option. Even if no one was there, he could play himself in a game of pool or two. He froze at the entrance to the rec room though as he saw who was in there. The Brotherhood. He was still uncomfortable with the idea that a part of HIM had been hanging with those guys. It didn't help that with the clone's death, he hadn't gotten to phase the memories of that time back into himself. He had no idea what that dupe had done or anything while with the Brotherhood. Adding in the fact that he had some hand in killing that clone, even though the clone had been trying to kill HIM... well it made things uncomfortable. For him at least.

Did the old man ever rest? If he really wanted the seat, he wouldn't have asked. Sway played on across from John silently, though. She knew when to hold her tongue, despite having a mindful to share. She paused only when she noticed the person in the corner of the eye that had joined them. The real Jamie. Bullshit. He wasn't quite right. Something about him creeped her out, through, she supposed it should've been the other way around. It would take some getting use to. "You play, stud?" she wondered, as un-flirtatiously as possible. She wasn't going to call him Jamie. That was for sure. "You can take winner." Or back the hell off. She hated being gawked at, and the kid wasn't saying much.

Jamie blinked. He supposed it WAS a go in or out and stop mucking up the doorway situation. He had planned to play pool, but no one was over there and he didn't want to play with himself. It seemed like it would be rude and despite how uncomfortable he felt, it wasn't there fault. He shrugged. "Sounds like a plan." He stepped in and hopped up on a nearby table to watch their game.

Magneto smiled fondly down at the brunette after taking his seat and he crossed his legs in a relaxed manner, then angled himself to watch the game. The arrival at the door caused him to cast an uneasy eye. What an odd situation, indeed. His two Brood'ers had handled it well, however, and he turned away again after the real Jamie had taken a seat near the game.

"So I feel I should ask, being the old educator I am, if you've sought out assistance with those abilities, miss?" His tone was entirely friendly, with only a hint of teasing reprimand. "I hear Miss Frost has a knack for such things. And that fellow below, Mars," yes that was it, "Mr. Murphy. Though, I've been known to lend a hand in that department when I may." Still, it was Charles' school, and Magneto wasn't here to teach. He was here to live and let live, to grow and leave again. It didn't hurt to make friends, though, did it?

"DAMNIT!" John grunted his defeat. He'd looked away long enough to spy 'Jamie' and while Sway spoke, he took for granted that she had stopped moving her hands. Instead, she had busied herself with shooting the winning shot. "If you're anything like your look-alike, you got this in the bag," he said, without any hint of feeling toward the dark-haired man with them. Hell, it was trippy what happened, but they knew Jamie could duplicate himself. With all the freaky crap John had seen, this was bottom of the totem pole. "Don't let her distract you." John smirked then, a friendly sign, and he moved towards where Jamie was perched, meaning to trade places.

Wren was actually a bit relieved that the first words out his mouth weren't 'how are you feeling,' or some various of it; because, quite frankly, she was tired of answering those sort of questions. But, she was kind of surprised that he was asking about her powers and if she had been getting help with them. Wren really hadn't put much thought or effort into trying to figure them out, because it wasn't something high on her list of priorities at the moment. She had other more pressing matters weighing heavily on her mind that she needed to deal with before she even considered working on her newfound abilities.

"No, I haven't," came her polite, but straight-to-the-point reply. She hadn't; it was that simple. "To be quite honest with you, I'm not in a rush to get better acquainted with my abilities. I mean, it's not like they're posing a threat to myself, or anyone else - and besides that, I think I have a fairly good grasp on how to use them already."

Wren wasn't trying to discourage people from trying to help her, she really wasn't; in fact, she appreciated the fact that people cared enough to offer their assistance. It was just that it wasn't important to her - at least not right now, it wasn't. But, what was important to her, was that she figured out where to go from there. Even though Professor Xavier had opened his home to her and said that she could stay as long as she liked, she wasn't really sure the mansion was the place for her. Unfortunately, she didn't have too many opinions readily available to her now, as the world was still in disarray.

Maddox laughed lightly then swung his feet and hopped off the table. These brotherhood folk didn't seem TOO bad, when they weren't trying to subjugate the human race. Of course that wasn't much of a concern with most humans being darkseekers now. "You bet I have it in the bag. I was the Foosball champion of all of Scotland." He headed over to the table. There were a few distractions she could do that he wouldn't mind loosing a game to be able to witness them. Either way, he had decided that he was just going to relax and have some fun.
