Who: Nightcrawler, OTA
What: Facing the new obsession
When: Saturday afternoon
Where: Haven Rec Room
Kurt was more than a little delighted with the birthday gifts from Irene and his mother. He had not been so sure about it all from the start, this "Force" thing seemed like something that could be dangerous and misleading, but the charm of the movies quickly won him over. That and, well... Kurt looked like he could have walked out of one of the Star Wars movies himself, why shouldn't he adore them? That and the fighting. Had he mentioned the fighting?
Young Wagner had always been taken with swordplay, he was learning the art and always thought it something noble, romantic, dangerous, exciting and fascinating. But those were just normal swords, this movie had swords made out of light! They made not just clanging but wooshing and vooozing noises, and glowed and...
Suffice it to say that Nightcrawler's mind was sufficiently blown with the Trilogy. The original Trilogy, of course. It was all he could do to sit still and actually watch the movies, his restless soul wanted to bounce around, try out every move, every flip, brandish his sword while making the humming lightsaber sounds and bound off the walls in a rather uncanny mimicry of the stunts the Jedis pulled. It was an epic tale of good vs evil, love conquering all, of setting a wrong right, and it was quickly turning Kurt into a certified geek. Granted, a geek who did not have to dress up to look the part of an alien and a geek who could actually perform the majority of the stunts, sword fights and acrobatics that the movie characters showed, but a geek none the less.
It was in this mindset that Kurt had, for the second time in three days, taken over the Rec Rec room to marathon through the original Trilogy. Drapes closed, lights off and several chairs overturned from his playful acrobatics, Kurt was just nearing the end of Empire, and was crouched on the back of the largest sofa, large toes curled around the back of it as he stared intently at the screen, drinking in the, what he would call, deep and touching emotions of Luke as he discovered his father. Kurt's tail flicked in short, tight movements as he clutched one hand to his chest the way Luke cradled his now missing hand, completely lost in the film.
