Who: Hemlock OT Wild Child What: Lotte heads into the city for work and runs into Gibbs When: Friday Where: Mutant Town Warnings: Violence. Character Death.
They'd spent the last week relaxing, but tonight Lotte had to go back to work. She didn't want to, but they'd spent most of what she'd made the last week setting up their new home together. Besides, Paulie had been good to her, and she didn't want to leave him in the lurch like that. He'd taken her in the first time when she'd been so desperate, and then he'd taken her back after she'd disappeared when the place had been all but destroyed. For all that he was a pig, he was a good guy. And Friday nights were always busy. She really didn't want to leave him short on a Friday. And she really did need the money.
She'd asked Josh to come with her that night, but he'd already agreed to take on the night shift in the infirmary since he'd taken so much time off the last week while they'd been settling in and she'd had time off. She'd felt a little guilty that she was still dancing since she knew he didn't really like it, but until she found something else to do to make at least some money, it paid the bills. What few bills she had since she'd moved to the Haven. So she'd given him a kiss and borrowed his truck to get back and forth to the city, promising to call him at her break and come home as early as she could.
She arrived in Mutant Town early and had a cup of coffee at Uncommon Grounds before heading over to Camelot and parking the truck in the small lot behind the club.
Even through it was only four in the afternoon, it was already starting to get dark, and a bit of snow had sifted down to the grimy concrete the night before and not melted in the deep shadows of the alley. Wrapping her jacket as tightly around her shoulders as she could and grabbing her dance bag with the shoes and costumes (if you could call them that) that she planned to wear that night, she scurried as fast as she could from the cab of the truck towards the back door of the club.
