Kara was returning from Washington, after another go at finding out some information on her parents' deaths. So far things hadn't really been panning out like she was hoping. Allison had been very keen on Kara staying put, so she was having to sneak out to do it each time. So far, she hadn't been caught, but she still wasn't finding out anything.
She kept looking over her shoulder after she arrived on campus, just trying to make sure she wouldn't get caught by her sister. When she got to her dorm, she thought she was in the clear, but that was proven wrong when she opened her door.
"Evening, Sis," Allison said when the door opened. She was sitting in a chair that she had turned to face the door. "Have a nice trip?"
"What are you doing in my room?" Kara asked, putting a bit of attitude in her statement, hoping that she could pin blame on Allison and get off without her finding out what she was doing.
"Don't even try that, Kara," Allison replied, "I taught you that technique." She stood from the chair and took a couple of steps towards Kara, "You went to Washington, after I told you not to."
"I'm trying to find Mom and Dad's killer!" Kara said, increasing the volume of her voice.
"So am I! But I can't do get anywhere when I'm constantly having to worry about you disobeying the simplest of instructions!" Allison retorted, also raising her voice.
"I don't need you to babysit me! I'm fine on my own!" Kara yelled.
Allison glared and tried to calm herself down a bit, "You're in my care now, Kara. I love you, and I don't want to lose you too."
"You aren't Mom!" Kara screamed at her sister, tears of anger falling down her face.
Allison's voice wouldn't work after that statement. Only tears fell from her eyes.
Kara glared at her sister and then turned around at a very high speed and ran out the door. Allison moved quicker, this time, putting a strain on her legs, but managed to get in front of Kara once she got in the courtyard.
"Kara, please stop," Allison pleaded. "I don't want to lose you too."
"You can't keep that speed up forever, Sis," Kara assured her, "I'm faster and we both know it."
"It doesn't matter who's faster Kara. It's obviously getting more dangerous out there, and you are too young to deal with it. Please, I want you to stay here and be safe." Tears were free falling down Allison's face now.
Kara understood that her sister truly cared for her, but she was also holding her back. She wasn't doing enough to find out who killed their parents. She again ran, faster this time, but again was cut off by Allison, who's legs were close to giving out after doing so. Kara had shown the capacity to go mach 2 and only get a little tired, but Allison's max was only a little higher than that. She was also warned many times not to push that too much for fear of permanent damage.
"Please, just give me a chance, Kara." Her tears fell more freely as she continued trying to stop her sister from doing something rash.
Kara's eyes were not free of tears either. She looked at her sister, knowing that if she pushed herself much harder she would possibly injure herself. If there was one thing Kara didn't want, it was her sister getting injured.
"Goodbye, Sis." She vanished from the spot, moving so fast that her legs felt as though they were going to explode. She was moving faster than she had ever moved before, and she knew that her sister wouldn't be able to even try and catch her this time.
