MUSIC! Who writes to what music, do you write to music, will you share your music? Things like that?

I know the sharing can be a bit tricky, but if it's only one song, we should be alright.

I like the list of 'What music do you listen to while you write' idea and I'll make that tomorrow's post (or you can).

The actual sharing of music is in that icky copyright infringement category so I'd prefer that it not happen here. What you do in your own journal, however, is entirely up to you. ;-)

Question re Yeats' poetry addressed to mods of writers_cafe

Question addressed via the mods of writers_cafe:

I'm not sure if this an appropriate environment to post my question but:
Are there any other Lit. majors out there who can get their hands on the Complete Poems of W.B.Yeats?
And possibly, please, please, look up a poem for me...

I can't find my copy ~ there's a poem I'd really like to quote in something I'm writing ~ it's a very short poem, one of the early-middle ones ~ & it is has a stanza about spreading out the night-sky before his lover like a carpet (?) & the a line that roughly goes "Tread softly, for you tread on my dreams".
Cheers.

I Googled the line you gave and it returned this:

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

-- William Butler Yeats

Is this the poem?

Google returned this on a search for Complete Poems of W.B.Yeats:

Hope that helps.

Thank you so very much!
It's been more than 10 years since I read that poem, but I woke up the other day with it echoing in my mind (in fragments) & knew that something was trying to emerge into writing!
Thank you, thank you!
