Magical Mystery Invitation Across the Fandoms
Released to the wilds of the vast universes throughout time and dimensions, the invitations to the party are part Time Lord psychic paper tech and part good old magic. They don't have to appear in traditional guise, though they might be a colourful card or banner, a flying paper plane or possibly a delicate origami crane. These invites could be text via your cell or the phone itself, a surprise playback from a CD or DVD, part of a painting you've not noticed at the museum, the towel of a Hitchhiker or new info on his Guide, or anything at all relating to the invitee's own time and place in the scheme of everything that ever was, will be, is.

Dear Recipient, (so the invite begins)

Consider this your ticket to the only party of its kind ever anywhere and anywhen. We ask you who might enjoy meeting others of all eras to come over and mingle! The time where we live is the spring of 1964 though you needn't fret about possible showers as you shall safely arrive right inside.

If you want to be where it's at, hold this invite in your hand (or just touch it if it's too big) and say out loud, meaningfully now: "Yes please, I want to party where it's groovy! I do want to know a secret!" (If you're shy or reserved, thinking emphatically will get you here too!)

You don't even have to click your heels together. Unless you want to, of course. Nor do you have to salute or take just a jump to the left, put your hands on your hips.

Yours truly, your hosts,

Luna Lovegood,
John, Paul, George and Ringo
John Smith X aka Smithy
John Smith XIII aka Jonesy

And suddenly you find yourself inside the Beatles' flat of the four doors!!

That Which Preceded the Release of the Magical Invites (for inquisitive minds who simply have to know or those who are Ravenclaws)

Or skip all of that and simply respond to attend the party!

((OOC: Everyone is welcome to start their own subthread here. If anything occurs which a lot of people might notice, like the Weasley twins setting off fireworks lol, I'll be sure to point that out in the OOC comm. This doesn't mean the twins have to appear but they make such a good example of how to attract a lot of attention!))

He must have been very close by if he had seen her take the drink. She turned around slowly and was startled to see him right behind her. Clarice did not know why it startled her; she had been expecting it, after all. But being so close to him, without any bars or glass to separate them, was something she was still not used to yet. No, she was not afraid of him doing anything to harm her. What scared her was the odd pleasure she felt at him being close. Having no barriers between them was - dare she think it? - nice.

And he had let her find him this time. That pleased her, too.

"I still don't know what to think, Doctor," she replied, clicking her phone off and putting it back in her bag. "I suppose it's a nice escape." Getting away from her ordinary, now meaningless life was nice. And she had come here with a purpose - to keep an eye on him. At least now she could feel productive.

"From the Bureau, you mean?" He favored her with a knowing look."Yes, I would imagine so. What have they ever done for you, Clarice, other than to lie to you and cause you pain?"

He took a step closer to her. "Now, what would be proper Bureau procedure?" he speculated. "Ascertain where you are? Perhaps question our hosts as to their intentions? Maybe see what makes them tick? Or are you more interested in seeing what makes me tick, Clarice? Hmmmm?"

Another step closer, his maroon eyes fastened upon her, watching her, observing her. This was the first time he'd been so close to her without some sort of an impediment between them. Would she wish to see him interact with others, or would she want him all to herself?

An interesting question. He was curious to learn the answer.

She watched him gradually move toward her, but made no effort to back away. It took her some seconds to realize that her body was leaning towards him in an accepting stance. Inviting him in. Clarice straightened up, her cheeks coloring just a tiny bit.

Clarice knew she had come here to keep an eye on the Doctor, but now she wasn't clear as to what purpose that served - her own, personal one, or that of her job?

"I came here mostly because of you," she finally answered honestly, only because she knew he was a human lie detector. "I wondered if maybe you'd be cooking tonight."

The corner of her mouth turned up in a morbid smile - one that Clarice had not intended. She felt funny and wondered if maybe she should not have taken that shot after all.
