Severus happily followed Lily outside, he would follow her anywhere, she just would have to ask. He knew the way he was feeling was silly, dangerous even because following anybody without thinking was not the brightest idea but he trusted Lily. He pushed away the little voice, which sounded horribly like his despised father, that was telling him trust like that would get him hurt.

"It is." He lied in reply but added quickly, "If you start feeling cold you can have my coat." He was wearing the same he had been wearing on their date, it was actually the only suit and shirt that was nice enough to wear which was not a school uniform. That was why, when he could get away with it, he always wore his school uniform.

He was glad that the house elves were so quick with laundry, he would have felt very awkward if he had to go to a party with his usual non-school clothes. He knew his clothes were mismatched and screamed 'poor boy'. Clothes were just so expensive and his family didn't have much money, his father was of the opinion that to buy new clothes when your old clothes still were in one piece was a waste of money.
