Hogsmeade Visit [backdated to Saturday afternoon]
Standing near the middle of the queue, Vincent stretched his arms up above his head and yawned. He got there early so he could save Draco and Pansy a place in line. Even though it was still kind of cold outside, he was looking forward to getting out of the castle. As he put his arms down, he lost his balance and stumbled backward. This caused him to tread on the foot of the person behind him. Vincent turned around to see who it was. His eyes went wide when he saw Snape. "Oh, sorry," he hastily said.

[Open, particularly to Pansy, Draco, Snape, and Sappho.]

[PG-13 in comments (already!), 'cause Snape = dirty mind.]

"Ouch!" Severus yelped in mid-sentence, bending automatically and lifting his foot to rub his wounded toe. "Watch where you're -- oh ... hello," he said, looking up at the round, and fairly red, face of Vincent Cragwitch. "I hadn't noticed you there, earlier." After a second, he set his foot back down, though he kept rubbing it on the back of his other calf, and smiled, turning to his girlfriend. "Sappho, have you met Mr Cragwitch?"

Sappho had gasped and put her hand on boyfriend's back. Before she could manage to get her wits about her and ask if he was all right, Severus was asking her if she knew the boy in front of them. It was obvious that he and Cragwitch were acquainted. She had seen this large Slytherin around before, but had never spoken to him. "Um, no," she said, shaking her head.

[OOC: I'm not going to do too much interaction between Crabbe and Sappho, because it's just too awkward, so you guys know.]

"Well, then ... Cragwitch, this is my girlfriend, Sappho Duncannon," Severus said, gesturing between them. "Sappho, this is Vincent Cragwitch, one of my new dormmates. So, where are you headed in Hogsmeade?" he finished, nodding to Cragwitch. They were edging ever closer to the front doors, and he actually hoped to talk to the other boy about something, though not in front of Sappho, if he could help it. He hoped he could surprise her. It would be better to talk to him and Maltian together, but that might not be a possibility, so he'd take what he could get.

[OOC: No worries. You've got a perfect excuse, anyway, 'cause Crabbe's the quiet type, and Sappho's super shy. :-) We'll just have Snape intercede until Pansy and/or Draco show up.]

He waved at the Duncannon girl and mumbled a hello. As she greeted him back in much the same fashion, Vincent felt confident that he wasn't coming across as completely rude. It put his mind at ease about literally running into Snape, at least to some extent. "I don't know where, exactly. I'm waiting for my friends to get here. Draco usually decides where we go," he said.

"Oh," Severus said, his eyebrows rising. So Maltian would be along soon, then. That was perfect. If he could only find a way to distract Sappho for a bit whilst he talked to the other two boys. He was sure the opportunity would present itself ... or at least he hoped it would. "We're going to Scrivenshaft's ourselves, to get a Dicta-Quill, so we can skive off History of Magic and not miss any of Binn's boring lectures." He anticipated a miffed noise from Sappho -- she actually liked History of Magic, for some unfathomable reason -- but she was pretty, and she had great tits, so he wasn't about to hold liking the most boring class at Hogwarts against her.

She made a noise that sounded like, 'hmph,' even though she could tell from his smirk that Severus wasn't entirely serious. "We're not going to skive it off completely, the way certain Gryffindors do," she said. "It's simply so we don't have to write as much." Sappho looked over her shoulder then, making sure Potter's gang wasn't eavesdropping.

[OOC: Okay, we'll wait for Pansy and/or Draco to show up now.]

Draco was looking forward to the afternoon out with Vincent, but when he approached where they'd agreed to meet, Draco's eyes went a little wide to see Severus...and a girlfriend standing there. He couldn't recall the girl's name for the life of him, really, but he knew she was something important to him now.

Approaching the odd trio, Draco smiled lightly to Vincent, then nodded to Severus. "Lovely afternoon, all." Draco shrugged indifferently, not really caring much what the other two thought of him.

Vincent smiled when his friend showed up. "Oi, Draco! I saved a place for you and Pansy. Is she coming along?" He stepped aside to let Draco squeeze into the queue. "These are my new friends. You know Severus, right? And this is... Sappho?" Vincent looked at the girl to confirm the name. She nodded, much to his relief. "Severus is great. He helped me a lot."

"Did I?" Severus asked, frowning slightly as he tried to remember how exactly he'd helped the other boy. "Oh -- that loony bint, right?" He dropped his voice and leant closer to Sappho's ear. "Cragwitch was having some trouble with another of the new students, who was harassing him, and I gave him some pointers for dealing with her." He shrugged slightly and turned back to face Cragwitch. "It was nothing, really. I was happy to help."

"Well, it did help. I've been feeling a little better since," he said. Vincent grinned as he scratched his head. He turned to Draco then. "So where are we headed to? The Three Broomsticks or the Hog's Head? Or maybe even Honeyduke's?" His eyes light up when he mentioned the candy shoppe.

Pansy was nervous about this little get together. She felt so...different in the last few weeks. If she wasn't truly Pansy Parkinson anymore who was she? Who did Crabbe and Draco think she was?

She hated feeling so uncharacteristically self-conscious, but her robes were mundane and even her make-up spells weren't helping much. Surprisingly quiet, she slipped up behind the group.

Severus watched without comment as another girl ... well, slinked up to join them in the queue. That was really the only word for it. She looked as though she would rather fade into the stone walls with a Disillusionment Charm, if she were only able. Since that was how Sappho used to look almost all the time, he recognised the posture at once. He concluded this must be the Pansy girl Cragwitch had mentioned earlier, but it would be impolite to introduce himself to her -- and not in the least because she was trying not to call attention to herself. Instead, he nodded to acknowledge her presence and gave her a small but hopefully reassuring smile.

"Honeydukes can be a top priority, Vincent," Draco assured his friend with a small grin, but then he turned his attention as a familiar figure caught his gaze. Pansy, looking like she wanted nothing to do with them right now. "Pans?" Draco questioned in a worried tone, knowing that it was safe for the fact that they were surrounded by Slytherins.

"Yes?" Pansy barely cast a look in Draco's direction. If Crabbe had it correct and Draco didn't care about her anymore (or so the over-dramatic Pansy inferred from one innocuous comment) she'd not allow him any satisfaction of knowing it bugged her.

"Are..." Draco glanced briefly over at Severus and Sappho, then added softly, "are you all right, love? You don't look well at all." He shifted uneasily, for showing this type of emotion in front of other people was not something that Draco did characteristically.

The conversation between Maltian and the Pansy girl appeared to be growing more and more awkward by the second. Severus made a point to turn away from the two, therefore, and slipped his arm about Sappho's waist. Fortunately, this had the added effect of making the people behind them in the queue step back a foot or two, to give the couple a little more privacy. He had no wish to air Slytherin House's dirty laundry in front of the whole school. Severus could only hope that Cragwitch wouldn't take the action as a sign that he no longer wished to talk to him.

Pansy cocked her two 'perfect' brows as she finally allowed her eyes to drift to Draco's face. Love? That didn't sound like...

Or he could just be trying to keep up appearances. "You think I'm ugly," she hissed though she did try to keep her tone down. She didn't wish a scene.

Draco's eyes narrowed at the accusation, and he couldn't help but wonder just what in the world brought this on. "Of course I don't, Pans. Why in the world would I think you're ugly?" Draco retorted defensively, almost automatically.

When a few other students looked to be paying too much attention to Draco and Pansy, Vincent decided to take action. He shot the eavesdroppers an angry look whilst cracking his knuckles. Before he even bothered to groan at them, they spun around and proceeded to mind their own business. Vincent smirked, satisfied that he had protected his friends' privacy.
