Hogsmeade Outing [backdated to last Saturday]
"Why is he always glaring at us like that?" Peter asked resentfully, looking back over his shoulder to where Mr Filch stood in the doorway. "He acts like going to Hogsmeade in broad daylight is some sort of crime!" Only when they'd reached the gates to the school grounds did Peter finally relax. "So, where're we going?"

"Hogsmeade?" James asked, looking slightly confused. "Didn't you just say that? Or are we going on another adventure...personally, I wouldn't mind restocking on candy. The adventure can be tonight." As tempting as another prank sounded, he was already out of Sugar Quills and Chocolate Frogs. Candy took priority.

"I know we're going to Hogsmeade!" Peter said, sniggering. "I meant where in Hogsmeade. I think I'd like sweets better than adventure right now, though."

"That makes more sense." James admitted with a smile. "Yeah, we really need to get more chocolate frogs. Remus may go into shock if we don't."

"I'm on my last bag of sugar quills..." Sirius added. "And we all know what happens when I lack sugar quills..."

Peter shuddered obviously. "Can't have that." But he grinned a second later.

He smirked, adjusting his glasses. "Maybe one day Mum will bake us a sugar quill pie. I bet she'd love to experiment with them. Give her a break from the artichokes."

Sirius' eyes went wide at the mention of it, and he turned to James, grabbing him by the shoulders. "Tell her. Tell her to do it."

Peter positively squealed with laughter. The wild look in Sirius' eyes, and the way James reacted ... No one made him laugh the way the two of them could. Unfortunately, however, that wasn't always good for his asthma. He started wheezing a little and had to stop walking, bending over and bracing his palms on his knees whilst he caught his breath.

"Whoa, Wormtail, are you all right?" James asked, stopping to watch his friend wheeze. "Geez, Padfoot, you nearly killed him. But I'll tell Mum to try it, don't worry."

"Oh, yes. Blame it on me." Sirius rolled his eyes, but turned around to face the bent-over boy. "Got your breath?" He asked his friend.

"Yeah I'm OK," Peter said, nodding and grinning. "If I'm going to die, I think I'd rather die laughing than any other way."

"I'd prefer for you to live for at least a few more years." James said with a thoughtful look on his face.

"But if I were to die prematurely--Merlin forbid--I'd like to die as a hero. Be legendary and such. Wouldn't mind marrying Lily first. Or dating Lily first. Actually, having a civil conversation with her might be a good way to start."

"Well that's a good chap." Sirius said and gave Peter a pat on the back before starting off down the road again.

"C'mon mates, there's fun to be had!"

Peter gave Sirius a small smile, choosing for the moment to focus on him, since James was talking about that Evans cow again. He hated her. She was so mean! Just like McGonagall. Peter didn't have a clue what James saw in her.

Sirius had indeed, as usual, ignored James when he started blabbering on about Evans again. Did he really have to mention her all the bloody time?

"So where should we go first?" Sirius asked, to get off the topic of that certain girl.

"Candy store. We have to stock up." James demanded. "Where do you want to go after that, Padfoot? Wormtail, is there anything you want?" He knew Peter wouldn't say anything unless spoken to.

"Boring, but I need some parchment and a new quill," Peter said with a shrug. "Can we go to the Three Broomsticks, too? I've been craving butterbeer lately."

"Butterbeer sounds great, actually." Sirius agreed. "So we'll get candy, then stop by for your boring supplies, then on to the Three Broomsticks. Wait, stick Zonko's in there too."

James nodded. "Candy, boring supplies, Zonko's, butterbeer. Sounds like a plan." He said. "And tonight, the main event? What are we calling it, again? Operation Moonsomething?"

Peter knew this was going to get him told off again, but he honestly couldn't remember. "What're we doing tonight, again?"

"What're we doing tonight? What're we doing tonight?!" Sirius said loudly and dramatically.

"Only the most important thing we've done since coming to Hogwarts..."

"...you know, that thing we perfected. Very recently? Involving tails?" James finished for Sirius, raising an eyebrow at Peter. The boy sure was forgetful...

Remus pressed his lips together, looking even paler under his mess of shaggy bangs. He hated the days of the full moon; aside from the obvious reason, he always felt so unlike himself, so unkempt, so.. just.. blah.

"I do wish you'd stop referring to it as something enjoyable," Remus sighed loudly.

"Well, we were talking about our part being enjoyable, not yours, of course." Sirius attempted to make a clarification.

Remus's respond was a dry look, the kind that seemed to promise a certain amount of bodily harm.
