Alice admired the way the bracelet looked on her wrist, too, then beamed up at Frank. "I'm never going to take it off." And she wouldn't, either. She would never dream of taking the bracelet off.
"Now it's your turn." Luckily, the small box she had wrapped for Frank was in her left pocket, so she didn't have to take her hand from his just yet. Reaching into that pocket with her free hand, she took out a small box, wrapped in shiny green paper with a red bow on top. Inside the box was an antique gold pocketwatch, still in excellent condition. It was a Proulx family heirloom, it had belonged to her great-grandfather, and her grandfather had given it to her when he had been visiting just now. All of which would be explained after he opened it. Until then, she waited nervously, hoping he would like it.
