Going Out Of Town

I am running away from home for the weekend. I am leaving early Friday morning, I will be back on Sunday night, so if you’re waiting for a reply from me, that’d be why. I will have my iPhone, so I’ll have e-mail if you need me, or you can contact Cary and she’ll tell me since I’m going to see her. Otherwise, see you in a couple days! Don’t burn the place down without me!

Introduction

Hello everyone. I am bringing a soldier boy out to play, specifically, The Steadfast Tin Soldier. His memory is a little foggy at the moment, but he's keeping a stiff upper lip about all his personal troubles and is ready to be of service to those in need. "Miles" is currently staying at the village inn should anyone wish to drag him into a plot.

Anyway, I am Marty. I think I friended everyone currently in the game. If I missed anyone, just friend [info]steadfast_heart and I'll reciprocate.

Reopened

So, officially, we have reopened. We've received an application from a new player and most of you have expressed interest in continuing onward. Just a heads up that the mods have made two temporary changes to the rules.

1. We will not be enforcing activity checks for the time being. We understand that we currently have a small player/character base and that makes plotting consistently difficult. We'll make sure that if this changes to give everyone plenty of notice.

2. The character limit will stay at 5, but the rule restricting members to three initial characters, then waiting three months before the other two, has been temporarily lifted in hopes of drawing in new players and characters.

As always, if there are any concerns regarding the rules, faq or any other aspect of the game, the mods can be reached via email or IM to discuss it.

In the meanwhile, we'd like to see some plot going, so we're opening up the comments for plot ideas. If you have any, feel free to post them here.

An Update

We Modly types have been talking and first of all, we want to apologize to you for closing the game in the first place. Winter was rough this year and we were just starting to get into the nasty as the game was dwindling down. I know speaking for myself, that I saw a lack of interest on all my personal rp fronts during the winter time. Getting replies out was just a chore.

What's done is done.

But now it's Spring. Spring is a time of growth and prosperity. Of fertility. We've had some interest in the game from our past players, potential players and within ourselves. So, we are looking as reopening the game in the hopes that this time things will come out better than in the past.

There will be some changes and as those come to light we'll make sure to post them here for everyone to give their opinion on. In the meanwhile, if any has any suggestions for making the game better, for advertising, for attracting new players or anything else, please feel free to let us know. The game is here for you to play (and us too) and we want you to be happy here.

Let us know:
1. If you are still interested in playing.
2. If yes, if you are planning on retaining your current characters.
3. Anything else.

Your Opinion Counts

So, Tereesa and I have been milling about over this for a few weeks now and it all boils down to what you, the players, would like to do. This community had lofty expectations, from both of the moderators and we had some great ideas. Unfortunately it didn't pan out. We didn't expand as we'd hoped and the community seems to have ground to a halt.

There are two options. Well, three, actually, now that I reflect on it a bit more.

The first is both the easiest and the most difficult decision and that is to close Into the Woods.

The second option would be to keep it open and just run it with the five of us and our characters, running at a slow crawl.

The third option would be to temporarily close it and reopen the community with some revisions that may make it more open to other players. We'd be open to suggestions of what would make the game more attractive to others.

Neither of us want to make any decisions without running it past you, our players. So please, let us know what you think, it is important to us.

Intro!

Hi hi! This is Jan and I just got accepted with Beauty from Beauty and the Beast! Yay!

Anyways, I have like no plot, though if anyone wants to hang out, have her sneak out to meet them, or you know dabble in interkingdom politics/balls. I'm all for it!

Update to Community Rules

Your friendly moderators here with an important announcement.

For now, because of the smaller size of our roleplaying community, we have decided to change the activity rule from posting/replying/etc at least once every two weeks to at least once a month. This may change back in the future, but if that becomes the case, we will be sure to let everyone know at least a month in advance.

Questions, comments, concerns? Let us know.

Hello!

Greetings. It's Kate, and I bring you my second critter. This is Robin, the Frog Prince. Robin has a few... trust issues. And really, he's a little on the formal side. Oh, and about twice a month, he still turns into a frog. He's pretty sure if he finds the right girl to kiss him that will stop happening, so he's on the look out... pucker up, ladies!

My turn!

This is Winnifred, my one and only. At the moment. Actually, this is Princess Winnifred Regina Maria Susanna Elissa Matilda Victoria Josephine Bunny Charlotte Elizabeth Penelope Anne IV. (Her parents had issues.)

She’s the princess from The Princess and the Pea, and she’s not your typical princess. In a lot of ways. This causes her frustration on many levels. Fred likes to make things and eat good food, and for the most part, she’s a pretty pleasant person. Her sarcasm can be a little biting sometimes, but she really doesn’t mean anybody any harm. The full details on her can be found in her journal.

I look forward to playing!

So, who's afraid...?

My turn at character introductions. I am sad to say that at this time, I only have one.

Bartleby Wolfe/Big Bad Wolf: This is the critter that swallowed Little Red and her Granny. He has since learned to chew his food, thank you. He changes his shape now, going from wolf to man, and right now he is on a quest to learn how to be human. Things like silverware, neckties and drinking from glasses are foreign to him so he needs all the help he can get. Just remember, under the charming man lurks a wolf.

Looking forward to the fun!

Following suit...

I can't believe game opens tomorrow!  Since Dawn did such a splendiferous job of making an intro post, I figured I might as well jump on the bandwagon with her and toot my own horn.

Here they are!

Buttons: With an imagination that would make a child the night before Christmas pale by comparison, this girl finds delight in nearly everything, provided it won't mean certain doom to herself or her loved ones. She is perhaps just a wee bit on the ditzy side, "wee" being translated to mean the size of Mount Everest.

Mother Goose: The perfect happy homemaker, Mother Goose is the self-appointed keeper of tales. Her baked goods are famous throughout the village of Brighton and beyond, and her door is always open-to everyone. "Stop by for a spot of tea, love" is one of her favorite sayings.

Verity: Snow-White's infamous stepmother, the wicked queen now dwells in a little hovel in the woods. She is a master of disguise, and as such makes frequent journey's to town. Her vanity hasn't dwindled in the least, and she stays in her true form frequently while at home. Her only goal in life is to take her revenge on her step-daughter and regain her kingdom.

Let's get ready to play!

Game Starts Tomorrow

I know I'm excited.

I figure I'd do an introductory post here with my characters and leave it open if anyone wants to plot or just random thread with any of them.

King Thrushbeard - His name is really Charles, but his now wife gave him the horrid nickname and like most nicknames one doesn't like, it stuck. He's exceedingly patient and friendly, but doesn't take well to haughtiness. Jabs to his pride are not taken lightly and it tends to cause him some degree of emotional pain when cuts are taken to his pride.

Little Red Riding Hood - Rowan in her name and she's extremely naive and I mean to the point of excess. She's not had much experience in doing things for herself and so could use someone to take her under their wing. *ahem*MotherGoose*ahem*?

The Gingerbread Man - Gin is a scardy cat. Or, rather, scardy cookie. He's a compulsive thief because he's so afraid of people and creatures that talking to them is considered the height of unpleasantness. He can shapeshift between himself and his cookie form at will, though generally it only happens when he's extremely afraid. He can run and hide better as a cookie.

Anyone want to play with them?
