I Tip-Topple Over For My Fun-Lovin' Nun
( Sparkle, Selwyn, Sparkle. )

Full name: Rebecca Sigrún Butler.
Rebecca means something along the lines of the tie, or the string, though in her mind the immediate relation is “Tangle”. Her father thought it to be an appropriate name for her, as it wouldn’t show her foreign background. Her mother however wanted to honor her ancestors and gave her a name with a deep meaning, Sigrún which means “Secret”, and really it is, nobody apart from her family members know her middle name.
Nicknames: Coco, some people call her so, but generally she goes by Rebecca
Date of birth/age: October 16 2004 age 17
House: Hufflepuff (Though she has never quite understood why)
Year: 7th
Special status: None really, Rebecca has never been too concerned with acquiring some sort of distinction at Hogwarts, she prefers having the entirety of her time for leisure.
Bloodline: Halfblood, Her mother is a muggle and her father a muggleborn.
Rebecca’s background is silently plagued with riots and mid night escapes, which nobody half guesses as she has a rather tranquil character. But on the matter of practicing Dark Arts she remains somewhat neutral, she has gone into one or two meetings. But she remains skeptical and confused on this particular subject. After all her mother is muggle, and her father was deeply involved in the eradication of blood purist assemblies and undercover groups. On top of this her father is an Irish man, and she saw a good deal of the witch hunt.
Publicly she is against the ban merely ‘cos she ain’t comfortable with the idea of things being handled in such ways, forbidding things merely makes them more desirable. However, privately she has a hell lot of reasons to think differently.
Rebecca is quite hesitant on who owns her alliances, so she doesn’t openly supports anyone, but depending on who approaches her, her ideals might go into on or another direction.
Appearance: At least one paragraph. Please include height and build.
Rebecca’s appearance gives out a lot about her nature, and her features reveal both her background and her character to some degree. For a start she is slim, skinny even, and quite tall. She stands
Her eyes go from dark blue to a grey, still dark shade, they are some what unexpressive, but she makes that up with a rather tender smile, which is mostly directed against some animal or some situation more than any actual person. Her whole appearance shows more of what her real character is than her shell. She does seem soft and tranquil, and her smiles are something worth to see.
Rebecca’s style is rather simple and though she really dislikes the whole uniform thing, she ain’t too showy on her clothing and whole appearance, just from time to time she’ll do something different. Generally she doesn’t wear that much make up, her lips are naturally rosy and just her eyes will be shaded from time to time. She is a simple girl on the matters of image and her mind is usually too much on other stuff, as to worry too much on it; however she does has a bit of an obsession with having a clean look, precise but simple, that is her.

Personality:
Rebecca tends to appear either cold and conceited, or shy and alienated, to the rest of the world. She is a quite girl that keeps to her own business most of the time, and finds refugee in both music and books. She sees herself a bit as a lonely wolf, and she is very used to solitude as she was an only child. Her character seems tranquil and unaffected to those who fail to pay much attention, and on the surface she is simply distant and slightly arrogant quiet girl, that solely speaks to use a sharp tongue and displeasing manners.
However, Rebecca is extremely different from that. Under the frail shell that she’s gradually built for herself, she is a passionate, tender girl with great ambitions and an unusually perceptive and sensitive mind. The circumstances in her life changed her character from a very tender, compassionate one, to a cold and distant one, she was always a loner but it was due to shyness. Nowadays she is slightly shy, but it ain’t something she can’t overcome easily when irritated. Her real character is explosive and very determinant. Sadly this usually comes out only when angry, which tends to surprise her classmates; who see a shy, quiet girl in an unexplainable outburst, attacking with her tongue in the direction of whoever made her that angry.
Rebecca tends to judge to rapidly on those she meets, and she is merciless on this. Once she labels someone as not worthy of her time, that will be the final statement on it, and nothing the affected does or says, will influence in her changing her opinion. But if she tells herself that someone is agreeable, then that will stick for good. Even though she has a hard time trusting people, and she is very selective on who to trust, she is loyal on this and she will never betray anybodies trust.
As a young girl that spends most of her time alone, she has a deep connection with nature, but this goes beyond animals and such, actually a lot of magical creatures don’t make much contact with her, except some very peculiar ones. Her connection is less common in this sense, she comes from the Icelandic fields, hence she has developed this sort of care and love for even a cold breeze, her homeland geography speaks of solitude and a violent harmony and so she has somewhat interiorized this feeling into her. Rebecca will wake up early before the sunrise, just to watch the dawn over the freezing lake and feel the wind blowing through her hair. That is her connection, a spirit devoid from fear against all natural forces.
Rebecca has many flaws of character and she is mostly aware of them, she has a pride very easy to wound and very hard to heal, she tends to be prejudiced against certain people, and she also superior to the rest. Specially now with the whole revelations drama going on, she knows that most students simply talk and brag about wanting to fight the witch hunt and about protecting the muggles, while most of them have never had to defend themselves, and have never been to a demonstration. Rebecca knows the meaning of fleeing a country in the midst of the night, she knows what its like to pull your friend out of a bleeding riot with torches, and she has had a Molotov cocktail blast in front of her. So all the talking means shit to her, she knows what it is like and she takes pride on it, even when she keeps it a secret.
Nowadays Rebecca is more active talker than she used to, and has to speak out when cocky students brag about the “revelations”, and she has to reply with some cold attack against the silly teenagers. She spends most of her time still with her music and her ever faithful guitar “Sigrún” to whom she applied her secret, second name. Ever since she was little music had a great impact on her and upon learning all the protest songs that her father could teach her; she became truly in love with it, and now spends a great deal of time playing folk and Icelandic folklore tunes by the lake.
She is over all a complicated character that doesn’t show herself so easily. She goes from cold, heartless bitch, to passionate tender kid. All wrapped up in one big tangle of things.
Family:
Svana mother:
Muggle young activist for muggle world causes, and deeply involved in several countries resistance. Her personality is much more extroverted and fierce than her daughter’s but they get along just good, as she managed to raise Rebecca in a muggle environment and they understand each other on such matters. She is perhaps too radical, and was slightly careless in the mother ambit, but she tried her best, and loves Rebecca sincerely, even when they fail to see each other points of view.
Patrick father:
Patrick is a still young Irish wizard, muggleborn, who experienced the problematic of telling a religious family about his abilities. He is quite tender with his only daughter and always tried to teach her about both worlds. Despite being in trouble too often to bring stability into the family, he has a calm temper that goes along with her daughter’s, and always tries to find a solution to her problems. He is much calmer than Svana, though he is equally committed to numerous causes, specially eradicating the groups of blood purists, and working for equality amongst muggleborns.
Siobhan:
She is the closest thing to a sister Rebecca has ever known, when they were kids they often played together, and during holidays they always visited each other. Upon moving to
History:
Rebecca’s story begins way before that particularly cold morning, the October 16 of 2004. It begins with a muggle, a young Icelandic activist by name Svana that was neck deep into several radical causes, all dealing with equality, some with globaliphobics and all the muggle pressing issues around the world. She was an idealist, young and never gave a second thought to any supernatural themes; her mind was focused on one goal: changing the world. However there came the time when she encountered a young Irish guy, Patrick Butler, who had most the same profile, except for one thing: magic. Patrick was a young wizard muggleborn drunk on ideals, who’d fought for equality despite bloodlines, and who always supported openly the contact with muggle world and was active in it as a protester for many causes. Svana and Patrick met through a protest against G8 and as they say the rest is history. They shared a chaotic romance plagued by riots and ideals, and that’s how Rebecca was born, in the midst of an ever changing world that suffered all kind of evils, with two parents committed to change it.
She spent most of her childhood in Sauöárkrókur a tiny little village on the north of
Her family story chased her. Rebecca’s father had run away from home at finding a conservative mother that couldn’t stand the mere idea of a wizard without thinking in heresy, however he’d found comfort in an English cousin of his (wizard as well) that pulled him through Hogwarts and made sure he had an education.
Hence since Rebecca was very little she’d traveled to
She’d been from very early years in the middle of secret reunions, and a conceited magic world, as well as interacting with muggles everyday. Her mother was involved in more than one clandestine action, and it was frequent when they went into hiding, same with her dad who once had been forced to drag them out of
Rebecca attended muggle school (a very controversial idea from her mother) until she had the age to go into Hogwarts, when her family decided to move into
With the revelations Rebecca’s parents started arguing everyday about fledging the country or staying, and she had to listen to the late night arguments and assume she’d be taken out of Hogwarts, as her parents seemed to think fighting back was the most needed thing at that point and that staying at school would be hiding, they implied it to be cowardice. Rebecca managed to convince them of letting her stay at Hogwarts for her last year thanks to her parents adopting her Irish cousin Siobhan who was facing the hysterical witch hunt, after her father and Rebecca’s uncle, had disappeared during a persecution.
Ever since, things have been complicated. Eventually her parents had to leave
Nowadays Rebecca is coursing her seventh year at Hogwarts, the revelations have changed her already unsteady life, drastically, she is not sure who has her support and has become very cautious and even slightly paranoid with people. Her personality has gradually changed over the years and hardened, from a very sweet tempered girl to a ferocious little witch; her shell of countenance was created. Still she knows who she is and won’t let anyone control her, but she is on standby as to what to do this year.

October 30 /2021
October has always been my favorite month of the year, simple as that. The stars seem to shine with much more desperation, as if they’d guess the year is almost over, as if they’d be in a hurry to show off even more, as if they hadn’t been there forever. In
Now it’s October again and the whole bunch of them are back home, all except for me. They are all feeling the coldest breeze shaking the very core of their beings. I can’t complain can I? I didn’t flee home during the night, due to some radical religious fanatics. Still I envy them, I can’t feel comfortable here, with every other student trying to gag their opinions down your throat, come on turn to the dark side, or “peace and love sweeties!!” Get real, none of this kids has actually been chased away from home, be it muggles or wizards. They brag about freedom and equality, yet I’d bet my life that this twats have never even been at a manifestation, let alone riots. So yah, it’s not like I’m all hardcore freedom fighter, it comes down from mum and dad, but I still know more shit than they do. I can still stand up and say what I actually think, not what my pals chit chatted during breakfast.
It’s Halloween before the twilight, let’s see were it takes us.
