Who: Reed and Emerson What: Early exhanging of presents Where: Reed's bedroom When: Backdated to Christmas Eve Rating: Over 17's only
It was Christmas Eve and Reed had retired to his bedroom. He and Emerson had decided that they would exchange their gifts that evening, rather than in the morning, in case they got 'carried away' with their affection - an almost definite possiblity when it came to the two of them.
Emerson was in the kitchen helping his aunt Lyddia do the dishes, but Reed had wanted to come up first to prepare. He was currently lighting candles and throwing rose petals around the big bed. He thought it was textbook corny, but he knew Emerson would appreciate the ultra romantic-ness of it all, and for Emerson he would do anything.
Sharing a bed with Emerson these last few days had been like a dream come true. No longer did they have to try and squish themselves into a bed made for one person, or worry about curfews and getting in trouble, or roommates who were not so happy to hear their rather loud lovemaking. They could be as loud as they wanted - as long as they put charms up - and could sleep in and not worry about getting caught out. Reed also loved that he could take hours to make love to Emerson and didn't have to worry about missing classes, or homework, or detentions. It was just the two of them in this world.
Domesticity wasn't something Emerson had ever really engaged in until coming to stay with Reed and his family. At his home with his parents, they had elves to tended to things like dishes and laundry. Actually, he found he quite liked it. Perhaps it was the newness, but it just felt.. normal. What he liked more, was all the time he was getting to spend with Reed. Staying with him, getting to share his bed comfortably and being away from the school atmosphere was really refreshing. He had fallen even deeper in love with Reed, more than he thought was possible.
Emerson found he got along with Reed's family exceptionally well. He thought his aunt Lyddia was very charming, and his uncle was very entertaining. Selene was amusing as well, and he really liked having conversations with her. He liked being able to sit and watch while Reed and his uncle played the Muggle ball game with the hoop. It had been stated that by the end of their visit, Emerson would be playing with them, but he wasn't so sure about that. He just liked seeing Reed so happy.
Once he finished helping with the dishes, he said his goodnights to the family and started up the stairs to the room he was sharing with Reed. He couldn't help but blush a little and feel his heartrate increase at the thought of it being their room, even if only for right now. He knocked twice on the door to announce his presence, then opened it slowly and stepped in. The sight made him momentarily freeze. The candles, the scattered rose petals, it was.. very romantic. Emerson knew Reed had done this just for him, which was very sweet. He closed the door and locked it, uttering the silencing charm. Casting it was like second nature to Emerson now.
His eyes focused on Reed, who was gorgeous as always. He couldn't help but smile wide as he approached him. "You're amazing," he said softly, circling his arms around his waist and leaning into him.
Reed turned as he heard the knock and grinned broadly at his boyfriend. He put his arms around Emerson's waist and surveyed the room, "You like it then? I was just trying to work out if I'd missed anything.."
Candles, check. Flowers, check. Chocolates.. "Damnit," he said softly. He'd forgotten the chocolates.
"I love it," he said, pressing his cheek to his shoulder and savoring the embrace. He thought the room looked beautiful. He was about to carry on with his compliments of the room, when Reed cursed.
Emerson looked up with a raised eyebrow. "What's the matter?" He grinned teasingly, "Were you expecting someone else and just now realized who you were holding?"
Reed looked down at him, puzzled, "Huh? Oh, right." He nodded thoughtfully. "Yes. I was. I was expecting the man of my dreams." He tipped Emerson chin upwards and leant down until his lips were scant inches apart, "But then I realised he was already in my arms." And he kissed him, softly, slowly, thoroughly.
