Stars that Glide through Silent Skies
Lights shimmered in the trees in the Weasley backyard as the day darkened to night, and the stars sparkled in the clear sky. Decorated in green and light purple, with streamers hung from tree to tree and drapes of fabric over the tent, it was a gorgeous setting for a wedding reception.
The ceremony, that wonderfully solemn and beautiful event, had been the culmination of seven months hard work by Ginny and Molly Weasley, with help from Fleur and Hermione. Harry had insisted that green be one of the colours but had given no other instructions.
Harry Potter, whose heart was so full it was threatening to burst out of his chest, was watching his wife dance with her brother. They were laughing, and Ginny's white dress robes, both simple and elegant, flowed around her as Ron spun her.
This was the moment, in the dark days during what would have been his seventh year at Hogwarts, that he had dreamed of. When the dark threatened to overcome the light, he had dreamed that one day, he could leave in peace with the woman who was both his equal and understood him in ways that Ron and Hermione—though they had tried—never could.
"She's very happy."
Harry glanced over at Bill, who had stopped beside him with a drink in each hand as Fleur walked through the crowd toward him, talking and chatting with guests as she moved closer.
"Yes," Harry said, looking at Ginny, who hadn't stopped smiling all day. "I'm happy, too."
"A word of advice, Harry," Bill said, handing Fleur her drink as she finally reached them. "If she says you're wrong, you usually are."
"That's not true," Fleur protested, though she was smiling as Bill wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him. "He's just joking, Harry. We're happy for you."
"Thanks, Fleur," Harry said. "I'll keep it in mind, though. If you don't mind, I'm going to go steal my wife from Ron."
Harry nodded to them and walked away. He didn't move immediately toward the dance floor, though. Stopping next to the refreshment table, he reached into the pocket of his dress robes and pulled out two pictures. One was his parents, and Sirius, on his parents' wedding day. The second picture, newer than the other, was one of Remus, and Tonks, taken at Grimmauld Place sometime during his fifth year. They were laughing, and Tonks' hair was bubble-gum pink and Remus had a grin on his face—one that had become less frequent during the subsequent two years, as the war increased in scope. Harry wished they, especially his parents, could be with them today.
"I miss you all," he said, sighing as he thought of all those he knew who had been lost in the war. "You'll never be forgotten."
They—the people who had won, or at least remained alive—had made sure of it. Monuments, and posthumous Orders of Merlin, honoured those who had lost their lives. It had been four years since the defeat of Voldemort, and the fractures caused by the single-minded prejudice of him and his followers—and other people—had only just started to heal. He sighed as he thought about the battles still being fought. There was still prejudice, and hate, but the scars of war had begun to recede.
"There you are," Ginny said, hooking an arm around his waist. "You sound so sad. Your sigh," she clarified when he looked at her, confused.
Harry draped his arm over her shoulder, pulling her close. "Just thinking about all the people who aren't here to share this day with us. I miss them."
"I miss them, too, Harry." Ginny turned so she was facing him. "But they are looking down on us and are sharing in our happiness."
"I know," Harry sighed, weariness suddenly etched on his face. He forced a smile and changed the subject. "Why aren't you out there dancing with Ron? You looked like you were having fun."
She laughed, brushed his hair back off his forehead with her hand. "I've been looking all over for you. Mum says it's time for us to dance, and then we can leave."
A curling tendril of red hair brushed his arm, and she smiled up at him, eyes shining. "I can't wait to get you out of that gorgeous outfit," he whispered to her as he leaned down for a quick kiss. "Shall we go find your mum?"
Hand in hand, they wandered around the yard, talking and chatting with guests. Though Harry had wanted a small wedding, Ginny had overruled him. She pointed out, quite rightly, that he was a celebrity in the Wizarding World, as were Ron and Hermione, and people would want to come. So the guest list had expanded to include almost the entire Ministry of Magic, and other elite, including several journalists.
"There you are!" Molly Weasley, excited and happy in her new midnight blue dress robes, appeared out of nowhere behind them as they stood with Kingsley Shacklebolt and Minerva McGonagall. "It's time for your dance!"
Smiling ruefully at Kingsley and Professor McGonagall, Harry and Ginny followed Mrs. Weasley to the area of the backyard serving as a dance floor. She had Arthur quiet the crowd and the band began to play an old Muggle love song, "At Last."
Harry wrapped his arms around Ginny and pulled her close against him. They swayed back and forth as twinkling stars appeared in the still-darkening sky, and the people and noise in the yard slowly faded away as his focused narrowed to her face.
"I've never realised before what a cute nose you have," Harry told her. He grinned and dropped a kiss onto it. "It's adorable."
"Thanks," Ginny said. Her arms, wrapped around his waist, wandered down to his butt and lightly squeezed. "You've got a cute bum. I can't wait to see it later. It's been a while, Harry, and I'm feeling the lack."
"It was your idea," Harry reminded her. "You said, 'Harry, I think our wedding night would be even more fantastic if we didn’t make love for six weeks before it' and I agreed. Reluctantly, I might add."
"Why would I ask that? Why would you agree to such a thing?" Ginny asked.
"Because it was important to you, and you're important to me."
Ginny smiled up at Harry. "For that, you deserve a kiss."
"Just a kiss?"
"I don't think Mum would appreciate it if we started stripping here in the yard, Harry."
He laughed and brushed his lips against hers. "How's that?"
"Sadly lacking," Ginny said, and leaning up, gripped his face in her hands. "I'll show you how it's done, Harry."
She moved closer, paused a centimetre away from his mouth. His lips parted, and she smiled, slowly. "Don't move any closer, Harry. I'm in charge here." She nibbled lightly on his lips, pulled back. Moved back in, and swept her tongue into his mouth.
Harry's hands moved from her waist to her hair as their tongues clashed, battled for control. Ginny slid her arms around his neck and wiggled slightly, still kissing him. He heard a wolf whistle, and laughter. He had to get them out of here before he embarrassed himself. He tore his mouth away and stared down at her, breathing hard.
Desire had darkened those beautiful eyes, and Harry had to clear his throat twice before he announced, "I'm sure you'll understand, but we're leaving now."
Laughter followed them as Harry and Ginny ran off the dance floor.
----------
Harry stopped, slightly out of breath, on the other side of the Burrow, away from the crowd. This was as far as he could make it. The front yard was dark, since this part had not been used at the ceremony, and the stars twinkled above them.
"Harry?"
Ginny's voice, confused, brought him back to the present. He reached out, grabbed her, pushed her back against the outside wall of the Burrow, and pressed his mouth on hers as his fingers worked on the buttons of her dress robes. "I hope you don't mind, but I can't wait any longer."
"But anyone could walk around and see us," Ginny whispered in between slow, drugging kisses, though her hands were busily unbuttoning Harry's dress robes.
"No one will," Harry assured her as he finally worked the last button free. "Besides, it's dark. We'll just be quiet."
Harry caught his breath as Ginny shifted to let her dress robes fall to the ground. The pure white, sheer top, complete with a scrap of white lace barely deserving of the word knickers, garter, and thigh-high stockings, shone in the moonlight.
"Ginny," Harry groaned, and hands shoved under her top to flick her nipples. "I'm glad I didn't know you were wearing this before. I would've never made it through the ceremony."
"It was a gift from Hermione," Ginny whispered, her back arching as his fingers toyed with her nipples. Her hands, small and soft, pushed his dress robes off, and they fell to the ground beside hers. She leaned forward, trailed a kiss down his neck to his collarbone, and Harry groaned. "Do you like that, Harry?"
Harry smiled as he kissed her neck, working his way up to her jaw, and captured her mouth. "Yes, Ginny." He closed his eyes, savouring the sensation of kissing Ginny. His wife. He'd wanted to by happy for so long, and now he was. Her hands were wandering around his back, sliding up and down, and moving to his front. He slid his hands down her back, still kissing her.
Ginny moaned as his hand slid underneath her knickers and found her clit. She was already wet. Pleased, and burning with desire, Harry rubbed the nub and slid one finger into her. She was hot, and tight. She wiggled, rubbed herself against his hand.
"Harry, please," Ginny's hand found his cock, wrapped around it. She stroked, alternating between fast, hard ones and slow, soft ones. Though it felt amazing, he wanted this to be all about her. Harry removed his fingers, pulled her knickers down, and in one smooth motion, slid down and flicked her clit with his tongue.
"Harry!" Her hands tangled in his hair, holding his head in place as he sucked on her clit and his fingers worked in and out. The taste, and smell, of her, was intoxicating. He could just stay like this forever, sucking and licking and kissing. "Harry…please."
He'd never seen anything more beautiful than Ginny, back against the Burrow, her legs opened and her head thrown back as she writhed against his tongue and fingers. "Please, what, Ginny?"
"Please," she said, gulping in air. "Please, let me…"
"Later," he said, kissing her stomach, working his way back up to her lips. His hand left her, and Ginny moaned as he pulled the sheer top of her outfit off.
Then, she was standing there in nothing but those thigh-high stockings and her high heels. "Ginny," he groaned as he pushed her against the wall and slammed into her.
"Harry!" She shrieked, nails digging into his shoulders. He braced his hands on the wall behind her and started to move.
"Shh. We don't want people over here, remember?"
Ginny's tightness pulled at his cock as he pounded into her. "You feel so good, Ginny," he whispered, as he moved faster and faster, gulping for air. Her legs came around his waist as she followed his rhythm, faster and faster.
Ginny's gasping breath filled his ear, and Harry felt her inner muscles clench around his cock as her body shook with release, and he thrust two more times before he emptied himself into her.
----------
He had no idea how long they stood there, wrapped up in each other. He helped her dress, and she returned the favour. Faintly, they could hear the sounds of the party on the other side of the Burrow. Harry couldn't believe they'd just made love so close to their family and friends, and from the look on Ginny's face, she couldn't believe it either.
"Harry?"
"Hmm?"
"Do you think we could go on our honeymoon now? I don't really want to go back to the reception, and I hear there's an amazing bed at the hotel in Paris."
"Is there?" He grasped her face in his hands and peppered light kisses over her forehead, her cheeks, and finally her lips. "Whatever will we do there?"
"Well, you did say later…"
Harry laughed, and kissed her. He'd never been happier, and felt peace flood into him. "Yes, I certainly did."
And the twinkling stars seemed to laugh as the lovers Apparated to their honeymoon suite, completely unaware of the pair of white knickers left behind.
