STATUS/RATING. moderate, thread, incomplete
Since the explosion with her mother, Hestia had not quite fallen back into place. She was still in a state of complete confusion and numbness. What was more, Albus Dumbledore, of all people, had owled her for a favor. And not just some simple "walk my dog," "water my phoenix" type favor. No, he wanted her to be an Aide to a squib. Not just any squib, but to Sirius. After everything that Hestia had learned from Sirius, she wasn't even sure what she believed. Dumbledore was not the type of person that she would like to be angry with, but something about Sirius' story made sense, even if she didn't realize it yet. She had spent as much time as possible away from her flat, which meant excruciatingly long hours at the green house and time nipping into diners that were open all night. Yet today, she found herself so exhausted that she could not force herself to go down to the green house. She was stuck at home. And that feeling was driving her stir crazy. She knew that the reason she felt so crazy was because of her mother. How could Sherry just suddenly turn on her like that? Without warning? The first emotion that she had shown in years was so cold to her daughter. Forced to being in her apartment, Hestia finally succumbed to the feeling of being surrounded by filth. She began her morning by clearing out her cabinets and her shelves and scrubbing them all with All Purpose Cleaner. The massive process continued on to take over her bedroom where she took every article of clothing and bagged it up to be cleaned later. Her sheets were next to go, and then she pulled every piece of furniture from the walls and with a bucket of steaming water and several sponges, she took to scrubbing the walls. She was so focused that she did not hear the knock at her door at first. When it was finally loud enough to break her concentration, she called "Come in!" thinking that it was simply one of her neighbors who thought she was being too loud. |
