That was a suggestion she could handle. Tonight, it only took a little blue diamond to make her smile big. "I have a new happy thought," she said after the briefest glance at her ring, a broad smile on her face.
"Yeah?" he said, his smile growing wider as he started to lead her down the carpet.
"Yeah, Dustin Carter sang to me," she teased.
"I can see how that would make a girl swoon," he said. "So, when they--"
"Oh Captain Wood!" a sing-song voice called out nearby. "Who are you and Miss Chang wearing?"
Oliver turned to see a very familiar face with with a turned up nose and bright red lips, framed by a cascade of glossy red curls. "Gabby! Good to see you again," he said, moving toward where the Witch Weekly reporter was wedged right up against the ropes with her photographer. "I've got Kelvin Kind on, and Cho...who are you wearing, love?"
"Arministra, of course," Cho said, holding onto Oliver's arm a little tighter. "But my shoes are Charmel."
"Mine are too!" Gabby said, pointing her toe out past the velvet rope so Cho could see them. "Well, you both look fabulous. Are you rooting for anyone in particular tonight?"
"Elodie Evers," Oliver said. "And, uh--"
"Burn the Witch," Cho said quickly, glancing at Oliver out of the corner of her eye. "I live with Quinn Chambers. Well, for now." With a sheepish grin, she held up her left hand. "He'll have to tell you where it's from."
